I worked on the WB show from 1994-1999 as a Post-production Supervisor and President of the WB Fan Club. This show was by far the height of my career in this industry. You did an amazing job of looking at and commenting on all the Wishbone episodes. I'm looking forward to viewing all of the shows. Thank you again for your hard work in keeping our show alive.
This series was fantastic-both the show and your videos. I watched this with my daughter who was a 90’s kid, but not a big reader. I have a big collection of the Wishbone books that went along with the series. Maybe someday I’ll get them all read!

I was homeschooling my older kids during the airing of Wishbone. This series was fundamental in inspiring my kids to delve into literature, and theater, across the board. I was saddened when it did not continue. My adult kids fondly remember the series.
I'm so sad that I only just saw this video! I grew up watching Wishbone, so this was such a nostalgic video for me. My grandma used to put Wishbone on tv for me to watch after she picked me up from school as a kid. What an impressive and fun project. I will definitely be going back to watch all of the previous episodes of this project. :)
This was such a great video. I lived through the 1990s, but I literally have no recollection of Wishbone. I guess it was filmed near me; according to Wikipedia, it was filmed in Plano and Allen (in Texas)!
Your making me cry again. Such a beautiful send off to a great series on your channel. My favourite memories are actually playing the Odyssey computer game, my brother and I would play it together all the time and to this day I still remember the sounds of the monsters in the Labyrinth section right before they game overed you 😂, which I don't think I ever actually beat. For me Sam was always my favourite character, I felt like her and I had a lot in common.

I'm watching wishbone on TH-cam right now as I'm on the second season. I've just chatted with Jeanne Simpson who played Maid Marion on Wishbone. She said that she's glad I loved the show, had my own wishbone adventures. She also said told me she had a lot of fun on that show with the cast, crew and the canines. She still acts, directs and does choreography. She has a dog named Luna.
I was already a bookworm thanks to largely READING RAINBOW and my parents and relatives always reading to me (I also was a BIGGGG fan of Book & Tape/Record sets). So, when WISHBONE was airing, I was in Middle School. However, WISHBONE was not only a well-written and produced show, it introduced me to several stories I love to this day, including A SCANDAL IN BOHEMIA, SILAS MARNER and THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO. Even when YT first started, one of the first things I searched were old WISHBONE episodes and getting reunited with a childhood favorite, and for the most part, it's truly held up well over the years. These were also the years growing up where I was getting more and more into writing my own stories and WISHBONE was definitely a big push of creating my own "imaginative worlds and stories" (I've only self-published one YA Fantasy book back in 2021 and hoping the YA novel I finish this year will fare better going the traditional route). I got a feeling had WISHBONE continued, the show likely wouldn't have stayed with Joe, David and Sam as the main kids (of the trio, Sam was always my favorite). Two of the Season 2 episodes (the JOURNEY TO THE WEST and NORTHANGER ABBEY episodes) I feel were "test runs" for the younger kid groups. Back in the 90s, the aspects of the show were more prominent than "continuity" and I doubt they would've outreached past the 10-12 age range I think WISHBONE was gearing towards. Doing A WISHBONE movie today would be "unique", though I'm sure they'd have "CGI" elements, as well as likely "updating" modern day aspects (like the Modern Day story would likely be more focused and the "Classic Literature" segments would be more "Visual Impactful" than focusing on the actual narratives). Again, it all depends on whom is in charge of it. From the last announcement, the Farrelly Brothers were producing it (of DUMB AND DUMBER fame). It'd definitely would be a different project for them, but most of their "children focused" productions haven't been well done..........but who knows?
I sure will miss your Wishbone series. 😢I was a new elementary school teacher when Wishbone was on TV. I fell in love with the show and used Wishbone as inspiration to motivate my students to read. Personally, Wishbone introduced me to Jane Austen, who is now my favorite author. ❤Thankful for Wishbone and your delightful TH-cam series.

I’m kind of on the fence about the idea of a Wishbone reboot/movie for the modern decade, but one thing I genuinely wish was that the entire series (barring the ‘Imaginary Invalid’ episode) was available for purchase or streaming somewhere. As for which character is my favorite (besides Wishbone himself), I think Ellen in particular deserves recognition as a great single mom in TV!

The episode that I remember the most was The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - I remember watching it at Halloween and bobbing for apples with a friend while it played. And, I still have a little stuffed Wishbone that was given to me when I did a book brief (that played between shows) for PBS (remember the PBS kids program where your name and age appeared on tv when it was your birthday month?!) This was a great series Olive! I can't wait to see what you come up with next! :)

There are two actresses that broke into mainstream who were one Wishbone Melissa Archer who played the girl David and Joe both liked and Amy Acker from The tv Angel. The Great Gatsby could be because it was not public domain yet when Wishbone came out.

It would be really interesting to reboot Wishbone with Wishbone and his kid as girls. They would be able to revisit classic women's and romantic literature and see what stories stand up to genderbending.
I think the selection of authors and books was somewhat based on literature that kids will have in their high school classes so may explain the repetition of authors. The majority of these books are taught in high school English classes
This show will always hold a place in my heart. I even got my girlfriend into it. If they ever make that "movie" i just hope they avoid any gross dog stereotype jokes. I do want to ask, Favorite Wishbone costume for our little hero?

The Sherlock look was a lot of fun (particularly the "Paster" outfit in A SCANDAL IN BOHEMIA made me laugh a lot.....could've been the Irish accent too). I like the chainmail outfit from IVANHOE as well.

I was a teen in the 90's but I still loved Wishbone. My husband did too. It was such a a great show. That shirt is fantastic.

As far as I know all the episodes are available intact on TH-cam (in addition to the fragmented ones).
