Crooked Plow (Torto Arado) is just gorgeusly written is portuguese. Itamar brings a mistic atmosphere by showing african-brazilian religious traditions, by talking about feminine strenth and people's exploitation. I'm so happy that brazilian current literature is getting reconized. (The brazilian cover represents the book better)

So happy I am finally seeing a title of Kadare in this channel! He is already a booker prize winner, so to us Albanians it is great news that he can potentially win the prize for a second time and turn a little bit of attention towards the culture of our small but very diverse country, albeit his book focuses on the Russian dictator Joseph Stalin. Kadare is continuously ignored in booktube, I wish more vloggers would read his masterpieces: "General of the dead army" or "Cronicle in stone" and maaany more.

    Hi Jack,
I read Veronica Raimo’s book and I loved it sooo much.
Also, the origina Italian title is “Niente di vero” which means “nothing true” but Vero also is short for Veronica so it has a double meaning of “Nothing of/belonging to Vero (Veronica)”. Idk I just think it’s great because if you think about it, it’s almost auto fiction with an unreliable narrator.
    Cheers, byeeee

What id rather not think about sounds like a book I need to read. My brother died and also, my best friend ended his own life, but it’s been so long and I think it’s time I read a book like this. Im also interested in Lost on Me.

9:34 when i was really suic*dal i never really went through with anything because i knew my twin wouldn't be able to continue without me, that's how i feel about her too. Still on the journey to find happiness!
