I just recently reset a couple crystals, using the Giants for the Wii method, and I am so glad it worked! I didn't want to be stuck with a Ninja, and a Sorcerer that someone else made.

2 years later your video is still helpful, my son tried the giants method didnt work for him, the gui worked like a charm got 6 crystals reset in 2 mins. Had to close and reopen the gui for the last 2 before they would register though. Thanks a bunch
@venomgaming7014 it might have been a lose connection on the USB, but yea the last 2 didn't want to register on it. Once I closed the program and reopened it they registered no problem.
I’m glad someone finally mentioned this works on traps for team which is good if you wanna play that game starting from scratch also you own a yawn trap your lucky

whoever made the Skylander GUI deserves a city key or something when I got my imaginators pack i thought there was no way to reset the crystal but bless up to you and the person who created it much love
Obviously the DUI method is the most accessible out of all of these and I'm here to say it works perfectly! It wasn't working at first, but that was because I forgot to select "Write Figure" afterwards. After I did that, I put the crystal on the portal and created a brand new Imaginator! Thank you! That's very cool!
Thank you for tutorial! I did this before with my Wii copy of giants, but didn't feel like hooking up my Wii, and the gui works! Sometimes I make my own Imaginators only to realize I want a different class.
I can't say much for the other methods but the Skylanders Gui tool works ! I only had problems with one creation crystal out of my five but the rest have all been reset at last!!
Thank you, I saw a video that required the 3ds/dsi whatever, and we don't have the game for that. But I'm glad there's one for the Wii with giants, because that was the first game we ever got. I got an earth one that was a bow singer and I don't want that one since I now have two both lingers, and I wanted to figure out a way to reset my crystal so I can choose a different class without having to buy a new one, so thank you

I don´t want to buy new cristals or senseis just to unlock some extra attributes for each battle class, so this way of reseting the imaginators come in handly, well, at least for me.
Oh wow. Thanks for posting this. I was kind of worried about the Imaginater thing sense I had some plans, but I was worried that it would be difficult to get the imaginite crystals with clean saves. (Wasn't worried about the traps sense you can just trap a new villain.) I'll probably use the computer program sense that won't cost me extra money.
i didn't realize this about the wii version of giants but i had gotten my first creation crystal and wii giants individually for separate reasons so that was kind of neat
Fun fact. You CAN reset traps using the 3DS. Take a non-Xbox trap team portal, and the swap force 3DS portal and put the 3DS portal inside the trap team portal. You need to make sure one of the bars/posts with the element symbol is touching the back of the villain vault. Then your 3DS can read traps and reset them for you just like with a CC!
I actually tried too reset traps using the regular 3ds portal and I could (kinda) get it to read but not reset them. Interesting you can put the portals together to make this work. Ill have to try this out sometime soon. Thanks for the tip.

Do not reset variant villain traps, like Riot Shield Shredder or Outlaw Brawl and Chain. It will wipe the variant tag.
the PAL version of the wii seems to not have this option for "repair broken toys" at all, even checked every wii game (not wii u) I have on the wii from "spyro's adventure" up to "superchargers racing" and nope nowhere is that option at all so I'm gonna go with the other method on PC, thanks for showing that one as well^^
For anyone that is having an issue with their wii or Playstation portals not connecting with the skylanders GUI, try and set up the portal the same way you would for the Cemu emulator. This is how i got it to work P.S. (I used a ps4 trap team portal to do this)

What happens when you reset a variant trap with a special character like outlaw brawl and chain, I accidentally put a different character in his trap when I was young and now I want him back
You don’t want to reset variant traps or it will remove the variant completely. What you wanna do is move brawl and chain back into the trap int the game and he will be the variant version.
Could you potentially make a tutorial for how to set up the portal for the gui tool? I cant find information anywhere and none of my portals (all non xbox) are able to connect to the software.
That’s really strange. When you have the GUI open it typically auto detects the portal but if not you can go to the tabs and choose connect portal. There isn’t anything else to it. The guide here explains exactly how to make it work. Edit: So your computer should automatically detect the portal and install the correct drivers. I’m wondering if maybe your computer hasn’t done so. PC or Mac?

They do not make Skylanders anymore. I guess you can buy new ones still but it’s not from stores because they no longer manufacture them. The large majority of Skylanders you find for sale are going to be used figures.
That's because you did not read the golden rule about 3rd party tools. There's ALWAYS a catch to them. EVERY tool they claim it's "free" to _download._ They said nothing about USING the tool for free. So in other words the key that it needs is the one in your wallet.

I just have one question, I want to replay trap team, basically wipe all the data and such because I know even with reset game and skylanders if I replay it and trap villains I had before they already look like their second quest forms and such. However I only ever used one trap for each elemental (light and dark included) so I only have one of each that I went through on my playthrough. My question is, if I reset all these traps does that mean every villain gets reset as well? or do I have to put each villain in the trap and reset them one by one?
That’s really odd? Are you sure they are for the Wii? Make sure on the bottom label it doesn’t say Xbox 360 or Xbox One. Maybe the USB port on your Wii is broken.
@@Xominus i had the same issue, but i found the solution, look up a tutorial of how to set up the portal for the cemu emulator. Once you set it up for cemu it should work with the GUI as well
You need to cover the fact you have to do driver changes and all this. Another TH-camr covered all of this. I would have been very frustrated if I hadn't found it because just plugging in the portal and opening the program doesn't read any of the figures for me.
In case my skylander got broken, What can i do with the back up of the figure? Can i write a new nfc chip with the same portal or i need a new nfc reader for the task?

You can make “new” Skylanders with fresh nfc cards/chips but you can’t rewrite the chips in Skylander figures. I’m not sure exactly how this all works but this is my understanding.

Yes older portals work but you need a portal that’s not for Xbox One or Xbox 360. Those don’t work on PC. Check out my Portal video for a great breakdown! @Justagamer256
This seems like it would generally be a really useful guide, but unfortunately since so these methods require non-Xbox portals, I can’t do any of them because I only have Xbox portals. Is there any method that I can do without getting a new portal?
the gui didnt work the whole thing looked different for me there wasent anything loaded in it was just white and black text when I put the portal on and it was connected I put on a creation crystal but I didnt see the reset figure option does anyone know how to fix this im on a hp laptop if that has to do with anything
Ok, where's the screen saying that you have a broken character for the we version of giants? Because I have that. I've tried numerous times on my we and we you and have yet to run across such screens and did everything that you told me.
It doesn’t unfortunately. I have checked. You can use a Wii disc on the Wii U and that will work but the Wii U version of giants won’t reset crystals. All the same options come up but won’t reset the figure.
I double checked your claim right now just to make sure and I was not able to reset the figure with Skylanders Giants for the Wii U. Are you playing imaginators on Switch and are you sure your not playing Skylanders Giants for the Wii? Giants Wii U does allow you to go through and select reset broken to toy but doesn’t actually reset it. Did you check on imaginators if it actually reset it?

So it does 6 before needing to be reopened? With 10 under my belt…that’s like 3 minutes.

Thank you very much for the reset trick of the crystal traps. The evolved versions are usually awful so it's good to have a way to unvolved them.
I agree I sometimes like the normal way they look. When I first started playing last year it was cool to reset them so they were fresh.

Yeah that myth is busted. I tried it out myself both the swap force and the trap team portal. It does not work.

For anyone that is having an issue with their wii or Playstation portals not connecting with the skylanders GUI, try and set up the portal the same way you would for the Cemu emulator. This is how i got it to work

Just make sure they aren’t variant traps. If you reset those they will lose their variant-ness

On the gui can you recode a trap? For example having a water tiki and recoding it to be an undead trap

Could I put a supercharger figure on the portal in the trap team game and then a trap in the portal and reset it there on any console?
I’m not sure what you mean but you can reset most figures except traps and crystals on any game.

I tried opening the skylander GUI and it didn’t work. I…also don’t have a Wii copy of giants, a 3DS copy of spyro’s adventure or a 3DS. Nvm I got the GUI up. AND IT DIDN’T DO ANYTHING.
Ok so before I try using the pc method and just buy a different portal I have to ask. if I have a very old portal (like the giants portal for Xbox) would that possibly work or no?
Yes older portals work but you need a portal that’s not for Xbox One or Xbox 360. Those don’t work on PC. Check out my Portal video for a great breakdown! @Justagamer256

This seems like it would generally be a really useful guide, but unfortunately since so these methods require non-Xbox portals, I can’t do any of them because I only have Xbox portals. Is there any method that I can do without getting a new portal?

No. As of now there is no known way to reset traps or crystals using Xbox or PS3 consoles
the gui didnt work the whole thing looked different for me there wasent anything loaded in it was just white and black text when I put the portal on and it was connected I put on a creation crystal but I didnt see the reset figure option does anyone know how to fix this im on a hp laptop if that has to do with anything
I think the program files come in a zipped folder. Did you extract them from the zipped folder?

Ok, where's the screen saying that you have a broken character for the we version of giants? Because I have that. I've tried numerous times on my we and we you and have yet to run across such screens and did everything that you told me.
The giants method also works with the wii u version of the game
It doesn’t unfortunately. I have checked. You can use a Wii disc on the Wii U and that will work but the Wii U version of giants won’t reset crystals. All the same options come up but won’t reset the figure.

I double checked your claim right now just to make sure and I was not able to reset the figure with Skylanders Giants for the Wii U. Are you playing imaginators on Switch and are you sure your not playing Skylanders Giants for the Wii?
Giants Wii U does allow you to go through and select reset broken to toy but doesn’t actually reset it. Did you check on imaginators if it actually reset it?

Idk if you'll respond to this or not but i tried the giants for the wii method and it only reset one of my creation crystals and three of my traps even though i did every single one of them did i do something wrong?
Anybody know what to do if the stats seem to be locked behind a key entry? I just bought some crystals second hand and the crystal seems locked. Help?
With the Skylanders GUI Tool could you change the Creation Crystal level?
Yeah you can. There is a lot of additional features that program has but that's a whole other video :P

It doesn’t work on the Wii U version of Giants only the Wii version of Giants.
It dosent work with my computer the third option because it gives me different layout than yours and I cant reset crystals

These are the only ways that have been found that I am aware of. I don’t think it’s possible with Xbox stuff.
