LOL! I never thought about it like that. I didn't travel much when I was younger though. This has been a development in the past 5-10 years.

Although we still don't know if Skylanders will ever return, I would love to share to you my idea of bringing it back, *in a spin-off game that is*
This is my idea of a Skylanders spin-off game that will revive the franchise!
I call it: *Skylanders Yin-Yang*
It is a spin-off game that *solely* focuses on the dark and light elements. Why? Well, it's pretty obvious, ever since the two elements were introduced in Trap Team, then to Superchargers and Imaginators, they overall had the *LEAST* amount of Skylanders! In other words, the Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Undead, Life, Magic, and Tech elements had like 20+ Skylanders (or 30+ if you count the variants and reposes), while Dark and Light had 5. So, not only will my spin-off revive the Skylanders franchise, but I also want to give the Dark and Light elements more love and attention!
The roster will be 32 (16 each for the elements) (similar to the SSA roster, but also include the "gimmick"landers)
They will consist of:
8 *core* Skylanders
One Giant
Two Swap Force Skylanders (the new Swapabilities will be "Stomp" and "Gravitate")
One Trap Master
One Supercharger (Sky vehicle = Light, Sea Vehicle = Dark)
Two Minis
One Sensei (Light Bazooker and Dark Quickshot)
Here's the storyline: There was once a villainous troll scientist who goes by the name: Professor Dizastor! He had many crimes he once committed, but he only had one goal: ridding all the flowers in Skylands! 'Cause he has a *strong hatred* for flowers!! However, as that scheme failed, he was then put on house arrest (since CloudCracker Prison was destroyed at the time). Later on, throughout his house arrest, he then developed and created a monstrosity Skylands is about to encounter: *The Root Reaper* the Root Reaper has one sole purpose, to swallow and absorb all life essences of all flowers in Skylands! You: Portal Master must stop the Root Reaper ASAP, before all of Skylands loses its beauty and have the flowers die out!
Also, I'm bringing back PVP battle mode, Sky Goals, Sky Gems, Heroic Challenges, Raceway (but for Sea and Sky Vehicles, since Land is only for Undead, Earth, Fire, and Tech), basically everything from the past six installments, but put it in a dark and light standpoint. (Of course lastly, Knight Light, Spotlight, Blackout, Knight Mare, Starcast, Nightfall, Aurora, Astroblast, Hood Sickle, Blaster Tron, Sun Runner, Sea Shadow, and the light and dark creation crystals will be workable and playable in the game)

This is insane!! Unfortunately we don't have any of these stores in germany, you could only hope to see some leftover skylanders in a random game stop or saturn but man... you're one lucky guy!

That Shield Striker is a thing of beauty…mine will likely forever be in its box.

Their was a dollor store that sold the Patina Shield Striker to get rid of old stock and i bought just one but i didnt know it was rare. So i am so happy

Though I wanted to ask: have you been to these three stores in question before PrePlayed, Foster's Gaming & Collectibles, and Respawn Retro Gaming Fond Du Lac?
I have not been to any of those stores. I'll add them to my list though.

There's used game stores, flea markets, garage sales, and if you don't mind shopping online there's even more options including my shop. There are thousands of folks just like who have start the journey to complete their collection again.

I found some skylanders at a convention this weekend but sadly it was all common figures and really overpriced (Them selling OG trigger happy for $10 is a great example of that) Glad you found some insane finds though!
Yeah, I always appreciate seeing them in the wild. I just wish some folks would do a little more research.
There is an Exchange in Indiana as well. When I first started collecting Skylanders I spent $100 and almost cleaned them out. I was able to finish my spyros adventure and giants collection from there.
Interesting. I knew there were a few in western Pennsylvania, but I didn't know they spread to Indiana as well. I'll have to check them out.
Magna Charge and Grave Clobber! If those go up this Saturday I am gonna do everything in my power to make sure I get there in time this go around! I think I'm gonna go ahead and get the SCL VIP Friday as well because it seems like a very good deal.

I once had an awesome collection, but then my brother sold 60% of it to a pawn shop without my permission, and I've wanted to rebuild it for so long, but I've been tricked on ebay too many times with damaged figures, overpricing, and straight up deception, so finding you and your shop is like an old dream becoming a possibility again!

Glad you visited the Exchange! I hail from PA and that’s probably the most popular resale shop where I live and is also where I picked up some Skylanders for a lot cheaper than market price. My friends and I visit those regularly on our outings so I’m always checking for new Skylanders.

Strange Skylander (true) story I am just itching to tell people:
Back in 2011, when I got Spyro's adventure (Wii) for Xmas. I opened up the starter pack and I took out the core of light and it's USB adapter. Seeing the adapter, I assumed it connected to a laptop or PC, having no idea that it went into the Wii itself (this is going somewhere btw). So, I got a laptop, switched it on and stuck the portals' adapter into it; the portal turns on. Secondly, I put the game in my Wii which is connected to my TV, works fine. I put a Skylander onto the portal, it works just fine. If your confused about how this is strange, here is a breakdown:
TV and Wii (Group A) and Laptop and portal (group B). Group A is NOT linked to group B in any way at all. I place figure on portal (B) , it shows up in the game (A) . . . . . how is this possible?
Good finds! Inspired me to go to my local Disc Replay only to find a whole bin full of starter pack figures.
Haha. Yeah, I've learned they can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's just a matter of hitting it on a good day while I'm convinced some locations just don't get new stock in.

Honestly couldn't tell you. Don't track totals that closely. I think this one would rank near the top though.
It’s been a while since I’ve watched this channel! I travel often around my local area and even into neighboring towns and cities (and flea markets) to find game stores that contain Skylanders, and I have to say, sometimes I am disappointed, MOST of the times I am disappointed. There aren’t enough stores within an hour or two away from where I live unfortunately, and thee are less that actually contain Skylanders. Last biggest find was a Golden Flameslinger (Checked that it was 100% real) loose that wasn’t even for sale. Awesome that you continue to update your collection with these travels though!

Yep, you got it. It was way overpriced. I don't recall what it was offhand, but it was a price that I didn't even think twice about putting back.

If I were buying for my own collection, sure. But when buying with intent to resell, I need to be very cautious of the prices. Figures like that were out of my price range.

I haven't personally done any Skylanders hunting in Pennsylvania yet so I don't have solid recommendations. But I do know that The Exchange (a chain in NE Ohio) has a few locations in western PA, so you might try there. Otherwise, keep an eye on my new "Shopping Directory". yo i went to several disc replay on Indianapolis (that i lived) need to pickup reallyish rare skylanders that i un-obtained, i clearly get extra figures since i recently broke years ago

I don't always find gold when I go hunting, but it's nice to know that they're still buying Skylanders so it's worth checking in from time to time.

Yep! I would look for used/retro game stores, flea markets, thrift shops, garage sales, etc...basically any place that sells used items. Typically a better chance if it's a place that specializes in video games, but they can show up anywhere.

If anyone asked me what my biggest mistake was while I was collecting skylanders, it definitely would be when I had the opportunity to get rocky roll for four pounds at my local cex but never got him, and now they sell him for fifteen pounds😢
Always gotta be prepared to grab the deals when you find them.

I did see that while I was there. I know I didn't mention it on camera, but it was priced too high.
I live near champaign and went to disc replay like a couple weeks ago and didnt find like anything.
That just means they're still selling on a regular basis. So hopefully that shop will keep acquiring new lots of Skylanders as well. Just gotta keep checking and hopefully hit one of those days just after they acquire a big collection.

There is! There are 4 patina figures in total: High Volt and Shield Striker as well as Lava Lance Eruptor and Burn Cycle.

I've only been to the Tennessee locations, but I know McKay's has two locations in North Carolina. If they're anything like the TN locations, they're definitely worth checking out.

Just to let you know one of McKay's locations in North Carolina which is Greensboro is rumored to be moving to a new location in Mebane within sometime in November or December of this year.

I usually just search for "retro game store" or "used game store" along with the city I'm in and see what pops up.

It's so cool to see these videos. I am going to be sad when the wells run dry on skylanders, because I am trying to get every character myself 😢
I'm not worried about that any time soon. They produced millions of Skylanders figures over the years. Most of them are just sitting in basements and attics. We just need to find them.
