Sowell’s lengthy personal history shows he has never had the slightest trouble changing his mind when empirical evidence pointed out flaws in his comprehension. The one-time socialist nearly epitomizes Irving Kristol’s famous definition of a neo-conservative as a liberal who has been mugged by reality, except that in Sowell’s case, one must drop the neo prefix.

What Trump was most right about, and what he adressed in his farewell speech, is the importance of energy independence. Europe chose not to secure this, and now that every rope is torn, we face all the difficulties from that. The most ridiculous leadership is of Germany, that stopped nuclear power, but keeps mining lignite, the least effective coal to sell it, then proceeds to buy electricity from Poland's coal plants, and on top of that Nordstream gets blown up. But the people are starting to see more clearly what they should do.

This proves that no matter how intelligent a person is, they are capable of letting their biases and dislike of an individual cause them to lie on them. Trump has never changed. Accurate statement. He was probably like that long before he came into office.
But is that one of the liabilities of attaining high office, learns to act that way? I didn't see that in Obama, who seemed comfortable in his own skin.
I see it in my own PM next door, and I think the habit extends to others in cabinet. Just today I watched a cabinet minister dodge and weave for several minutes, virtue-signaling as he went, to avoid admitting a mistake.
So in this case the 'corporate culture' forbids honesty about failure.
Well, no one can be justified before God by insisting on his own self-righteousness. And if we believe that God loves us, we need not keep up pretenses with other people. There are also simple ways of admitting fault without spilling one's guts in public.

But for some reason this "patriotic" voter base- the group that says America First and always complains about border security- doesn't care about American national security. Sorry, I can't remember: did Trump declassify the documents with his mind or were they planted there by the FBI.... Because his legal team told us both. Lolololol 🇺🇸👍 ( *Key fact:* as referenced in PDFs that you can find on the Library of Congress website, presidents need to sign an executive order to declassify things. That's how a bureaucratic government, with documents archived across the country, knows what papers they can hand out and what they can't. So that's another lie).
The cover of the Trump book was that of a self-centered reality star, who enjoys firing people, and lied creating a fraud college to scam people out of a legitimate education.... And that's exactly the type of book we got, lololol 🤡🤡

I actually think he is a peace-loving man with a big heart. Trouble is he doesn't talk like a politician. Just look at how right he has been on so many things, including the threat of war in Ukraine, and the reliance of Europe, especially Germany, on Russian Oil and gas.

I too had my doubts of Trump at first, honestly didn’t take him as serious as I should have. But when he was the winner of that election, I decided to give him a chance to see how he would do, and gave him 100 days in the office to study whether he had what it took to be a leader or if this was just something to add to his list of criteria he wanted to put for his own legacy. By the first 100 days, I am honored to say he humbled my perspective about him and saw that he was taking his oath to serve our country with real determination that I have ever witnessed a president do. I do believe he has his blind spots like we all do and it has the potential to hurt both him and the country, but he made serious effort and the results showed how much he cared for the US. Despite what the establishment has attempted to defame him and his family’s legacy, he still delivered those punches on our behalf of those of us who were about to lose hope in our country.
Thus, he earned my respect more than any politician who has sat in that room for decades making a career by just sitting in those damned seats, while our country wasted away. And that is what scares the establishment the most, their time of sitting is now ending.

I don’t think Mr Sowell has spent a lot of time thinking about the circumstances of Donald Trump in his 30s. At that time he was successful, had a formula for being successful, saw what was wrong with the country, and was talking about what he felt needed to be done. The one big difference was he was not facing an unrelentingly hostile media 365/24/7. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Mr. Sowell debate anyone in a palpably hostile environment. Usually he’s in a very controlled situation, which is entirely different than what Trump faced day in and day out as candidate and as president. Trump took the abuse and gave it right back to people who did not deserve the time of day or the least amount of respect but there is ample evidence of Trump, being very respectful, very cordial and very measured in his response to questions just not with people who are clearly out to get him and to ignore this and take the easy route of chalking it up too emotional immaturity on the part of Trump is somewhat detrimental to Mr. Sowell’s credibility.

How do you know if the OP hasn't praised the Lord in private?
      He's not 'worshipping' TS.
If you don't know the difference between normal human praise and worship you need reeducation.
It says in the Bible if you do good works men will praise you and validate your good works, no need for self boasting.
You don't get it do you?
You think saying "I'm a Christian" makes you right with 'God'?
      Go re-read your Bible.
God had the BIGGEST beef with his own people throughout, they even killed his son.
It wasn't the Romans, they only followed the Jews decree/choice.
You are a fake 'religous' Christian going around spouting words with no discernment or righteousness, just piety.
Those who walk in TRUTH are followers of Christ, not those who profess yet walk in wickedness.
The Roman Centurion (with no Jewish upbringing) had more faith than any Israelite in the land, according to Jesus himself.
      Chew on that.
The good Samaritan story showed the non-Jew Foreigner to be more righteous and of Godly character, than the 'Holy man' who walked past.
      Chew on that.
"A Jew is a Jew inwardly."
      Choke on that.
So TS seeking and dealing in TRUTH is a Christian, no need to attend a building or profess anything.
I see 'Christian' posts similar to yours all throughout YT and you think you're going to win people over with several negative, judgemental statements?
It takes time, physical interaction and real life examples for someone to truly come to Christ.
Few will read 2-3 lines and go "OMG I need to change!".
Maybe persons previously dipped in scripture, but the unknowing and novices most likely not.

There're an enormous number of things one can criticize about Trump. But the fact that he did well in supporting healthy economic principles and was directly against illegal immigration and against the imperialistic tendencies of the US shows that his ACTIONS -- as opposed to his personality -- were praiseworthy...and well in line with the core interests of most voters. Above all, he made AWESOME supreme court nomination which will serve all of us VERY WELL for long after he himself is gone from the scene.

@@camerondye6108 Um...the deficit and taxes are the responsibility of congress. Tariffs are..."complicated." In some cases they are (unavoidably) tit-for-tat. In others they are meant to support areas of US business -- which can sometimes be necessary for complicated reasons. His policies helped greatly to reduce energy costs, and were generally pro-business (and anti-tax). Joe Biden has also sometimes acted in a pro-business manner during his career -- but that was only when those businesses first (or afterwards) PAID HIM to act in their favor. That's different, lol.

President Trump had the same values and concerns for America in his thirties as he has now. I watched a clip from when he did a interview with Barbara Walters in maybe mid 1980’s and he was so right about how this country would go forward in the future. Very wise and a deep love for this country. I have not seen that commitment in any president in my lifetime. He truly cares for America and his leadership was always for the greatness of America and it’s people.

Suppose hypothetically that all of the disparities between blacks and whites were erased, and full equality of both opportunity and outcome were achieved. Which political party would benefit from that?
From that you can deduce which party really wants this to happen, and which party will find ways to sabotage it.

It is impossible to have both equality of opportunity and equality of outcome. The only way to achieve equality of outcome is to squelch equality of opportunity.
