I read on the Road Star Clinic Forum that you can leave the axle adjuster bolts as is and that you are able to just loosen the axle nut and pull the axle and pull the wheel. You just move the wheel forward to pull the belt. This is a relief for me since I didn't really want to mess with the axle adjuster bolts and risk putting the wheel back on out of alignment.. Thank you for the video and explanation.
its true… remove bags, (rear fender removal isnt needed but makes things easier), remove caliper, then remove the axle and the tire will push itself slightly forward.. take the belt off, add new tire and slip the belt back on and then put the axle back in, tighten axle bolt (dont mess with the adjusters), put caliper and rear fender and bags back on.. All done!
Thanks Greg! Excellent video and quality information. Got a chrome rear pulley and a front naked pulley conversion to do to my 2003 next spring. Appreciate you sharing this.
Sorry but your video came up short, you did not say how to jack up the bike and how to lower the swingarm, very poor presentation. You should have also included that you can refer to the workshop manual that tells you how to lift up the rear guard to help with clearance.

Helpful but could have been more descriptive. Wrench sizes? Actually removing the wheel?
Too much talking, and not showing what is really important.
👍👍👍

20 to mount the tire and 60 to do the entire job...40 bucks more for a professional
Well done Thanks!
Thank you!
very helpful thanks
Skipping parts of the removal doesn’t help much. It seems a lot of TH-camrs do the same thing.
Thank you so much
