    Hello Everyone,
    My name is Rocky Ramirez, Joe’s son who filmed this video for him. My Dad was killed on his motorcycle last night on the 91 freeway near the Carmenita exit. Our family is all very distraught.
    I want you all to know he loved motorcycles, his family, God, and being a true bad ass. He was also very proud of the many views he had revived on this video. Thank you all for showing your support, watching the video, commenting, and learning something.
    Thank you all! -Rocky Ramirez

    It may be hard to think about right now but having your fathers videos on youtube is a way to revisit him when you miss him which is awesome. I lost my mother around the same time and I cherish her texts and voicemails on my phone to this day and wish i had videos of her. Sorry about your loss brother.

    on my 2005 Roadstar midnight Silverado, 10,000 miles on it, it sat for awhile. When I pull in the clutch and drop it into gear it jumps forward and then dies. How do I rectify this? Discs sticking?
    I took it for a ride and no slippage but I cannot ride now due it stalling when I put into gear. With engine off I put it in gear, pull clutch in and cannot push it
    Anyone with ideas please help

      The Barnet clutch Spring Plate turned out awesome, so much grab, especially when compared to what Yamaha calls a Spring, which is more of a Diaphragm.

    whats the point in this upgrade, and y didnt your change clutch plates since u where already in there?

    • @RockyRamirez
      @RockyRamirez  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Supa Mario. The point in this upgrade is that Yamaha installs what they call a spring, which really is more of a diaphragm, it doesn't grab like Springs, and the clutch plates didn't need changing out as they only had just around 1,000 miles on them when I bought the bike, I added the Barnett Kit right after purchasing the bike, the bike came with a receipt of a new clutch from a Yamaha Dealer install. So one shouldn't assume. After adding the Barnett Spring Kit, the grab of the clutch was amazing compared to the Yamaha Spring/ Diaphram.

    • @logand.56
      @logand.56 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The diaphragm is just a stamped piece of flat steel. With time, the diaphragm flattens out, which lessens pressure on the clutch assembly. Thus, causing slippage. The coil spring conversion holds more pressure on the plates. Also, road star clutches last a LONG time. The plates wont always need replaced with the conversion

      Aaron Turner. Again, Without being there to oversee the job application you did, it's very hard for me to know where the problem your having exist, as I mentioned to Bruce, I hope by now the problem has been rectified, and your rolling, sorry for the late response.

    • @RockyRamirez
      @RockyRamirez  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bruce Malady. Not being present to oversee the job you did installing the Kit, it's virtually impossible to see what happened as to why the clutch isn't engaging, I know these responses I'm delivering at this time is way late, so I hope by now you have figured out what went wrong, again my apologies for these late responses.

      I just came back to check to see if some other questions on my video were asked, I did this job on a 2003 Yamaha Road Star 1600, your 2005 Road Star is a 1700, I was told that the 1600 clutch, and the 1700 are different, so perhaps yourself, and Aaron's bike that also had trouble both own 1700's? I hope you two guys are rolling again, so sorry if not.

    • @lynnbarrett5125
      @lynnbarrett5125 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess would be the direction/facing of that grooved "bolt" I watched the video and saw that that is what pulls the assembly outward when the lever is pulled. If you didn't have the grooves in the right direction, I could see where nothing would happen when lever pulled. Hope that was it....

    • @RockyRamirez
      @RockyRamirez  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeremy Hefner. I cannot say that it will help, or not. It sounds like your having a clutch issue, more than anything. Try not hitting those gears so hard, or go for a high performance clutch, and spring kit, yet your clutch lever will be much harder to pull in after installation.
