I have so much respect for people who can not only do the job without going completely crazy...but also to video the entire thing in a manner that is understandable for the viewer. Props to you
I love old dodges but they do have flaws. The rusting they go through Is a shame. No plastic in the rear fender wells! Therefore snow and salt sticks to metal and rots it. My 03 1500 is clean all over except for rear fenders and a little rust on the rocker panels. Very little surface rust on frame my friend took good care of it. Solid truck. Still got it’s power runs fantastic and drives great. 203k on it and it don’t give a fuck.
I gotta love watching these video's now. I'm 78 yrs old. and plowed most of my young life. Jeeps, Scouts. Powerwagons. with with out chains, And on the tail end as Andrew showed you a good knobby snow tire deep knobs and studs do the job well. I even run studs on my two wheel drive vehicles. Can't beat them. at one time (with the jeep no less ) I had 52 customers to plow out. looonnng days. don't miss that at all. thanks for hte memories Andrew! and the great video.
Like you we both worked mega hours when young. Our 2 kids saw us doing this, now they are working mega hours, so are there 2 kids. Folks don't realise just what "Old guys" had to do to feed the family and pay the bloody gas bill!!! Rock on buddy and stay safe!!
That fluid film is the best. I’ve been using that product for over 25 years. We also drill holes in the doors and coat the inside. Do the engine compartment and inner fenders too. We take the taillights out and have a extension pipe connected to the 360 nozzle and gets above the wheel wells coated good. Gotta keep the NY road salt from destroying our vehicles. @@jasonmorehouse3756 Nah we use a 1/4 OD aluminum tube with a 360 degree fitting on the end. Those tiny plastic tubes through the drain holes don't cover as well as my application.
It’s actually not because blaster has made a new product in the past few years called surface shield and it’s way better than the fluid film according to repair geek who conducted independent testing on a variety of products and the results speak for themselves. Look it up if you don’t believe me. I just want you to have the best product for your vehicle and you can decide for yourself. 👍

@@hilljackzack7284 I've noticed there are two kinds of Mopar owners.... one, that drives the vehicle into the ground doing nothing other than maybe.... just maybe paying someone else to change the oil sometimes. And the second type of owner, who meticulously maintains the vehicle themselves and buys every tool and machine they can possibly fit on their property to continuously restore their Mopar every 2 years. Usually you'll notice the second type having a different color all the time lol.
@@gittyupalice96 I’m very meticulous with mine but I drive it around like it’s indestructible. I do all the maintenance and repairs then turn around and run over mailboxes, drag race, and go off-road in it because I maintain it and it’s truly built to last.

I love the way Andrew takes a little pause during his work just to watch Levi make it up the stairs with no harm... Takes only 20 seconds but you're sure he'll jump up if his buddy stumbles. It's the little things.
I would not hire Andrew. He shows a complete lack of care for objects. It's not hard, nor does it take much time to pull out your phone and google "2003 dodge 2500 remove battery box"

I don't blame him for just breaking it and getting it out the way because it was clearly secured pretty well else where and it's a old beat up work truck already.
I think a big part of Andrew’s success is his parents. A persons success in life has a lot to do with how much your parents put into you. Also was great of your dad to bring you a belt, Andrew!
Thank you for demonstrating how to plow a residential driveway. I had interest in plowing snow in my teens and twenties, but now I just wanted to see how it is done.
I can't wait for him to get a Tesla with all the safety features and shit they stuff in there. Imagine trying to wire up a 12v plow system on that thing.
Every time I hear him talk about how great the cybertruck is going to be I can't help but laugh. This is the same guy that installed a stereo with a chainsaw. Tesla will lock the doors remotely and come repo it when they see what he does to vehicles.
I like to add a bunch of water softener salt in my truck bed then when the winter season is over I just bring it all inside and I’m good for the year lol
Too right! I had hydrolic ploughs on a 1956 Short wheelbase Land Rover and an Austin Champ, (what a dangerous vehicle). Both needed 1/2 ton of rock in the back and often chains. Studs are OK on ice but serious snow ploughing? They wouldn’t do for the Scottish Highlands. Studs were for the car and icy roads.
I give you props brother issues came up but you got em fixed in no time and back on the road again ! And best thing Is you did it all by your self . And accompanied by Levi r.i.p to Levi 😢 the best working dog

@@solidamanda I agree with you. I admire him greatly. Watch the video where he removes a cylinder from either the Ditch Witch or the forklift (it's orange). He initially decided to send the cylinder out to be repaired, yet the video towards the end, shows him too curious and he attempts to open the cylinder himself. In the video where he actually builds a wooden door from scratch and because it was so thick, the hardware did not fit....the lock and the doorknob. He actually extended the pieces to go through the thick door. He is beyond remarkable.
@@buggscarrot9557 how else would you build it? I can see numerous problems with building a truck out of pure stainless like the Tesla. Stainless is more expensive and heavier, the latter also eating out of your max payload rating. It makes perfect sense to me why truck bodies are built out of stamped sheet metal🤷♂️
@Ben T. the main issue with it is that all current after-market modifications aren't compatible whether it be a salter, a plow, or a toolbox. Additionally, there aren't all that many dealerships and you could have a long drive to get parts for it.
@@LifeRunner4000 not only is stainless itself more expensive (about 10x as much), also working with it is a major pain in the ass (read - also expensive). There's a good reason cybertruck looks like from an 80s video game, and it's not just the aesthetics.
@@mchuo7834 i still wont ever get it. first off all there not loud, secondly i bet the diesel would win in a tug of war battle between them. yeas the metal work of the cyber truck is better but it is ugly. also with the diesel you could upgrade it to get a higher torque or hp out of it. i dont even no how long that electric motor would last under towing conditions and being beat on.
Winters are commonly referred to as the next year. We get first snow in October or November and it runs through March or April. Winter 2020 has already happened. This is the 2021 plowing season.

Remembering how the castle used to look, it was such a great idea to close it in. The difference in looks is night and day. Also laying new gravel also really improved the look of the property.
Andrew will be the ultimate tester for the Tesla, they should give him one to use for a year or four, it definitely will be driven thru the gauntlet 🤣🤣🤣
3 years later after I left a comment about how I wasn’t sure about these wideout plows and I’ve been using one for about 2 seasons and I gotta say, absolutely love it. I’m a firm believer that each plow serves its own purpose BUT I think a wideout is probably one of the most versatile plows in the market today.

Best snow traction mats may help. Your father is a hero, always in rescue mode ready to take care of you! That's great! I'm learning to keep in my vehicles a set of everything that broke in one of them like an extra belt.

Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are the best truck tire ever made. I've been using them for 10 years in Alberta all winter on all my 1 tons and will never switch. That hill would have been unnoticeable with them. Good luck!

Just like my Gramps and old man handy as heck with all the right tools me well I stayed in the Kitchen where it's warm and I can eat lol. Take care glad I found this it reminds of growing up.
In the latter part of the video he had the mud KO's awesome tires no noise on the interstate and good mileage if you run the ten ply we easily get 70,000 miles run mountain roads and three hundred mile interstate trips each way on our 2nd gen 360 gasoline Dodge sadly Marylands salt brine has it rusting worse than Andrew's
The fact that he had a set of cheap deestone garabge tires on it might be why he was having trouble lol. Buy the cheapest tires on ebay and then wonder why they suck.
Great content. You did yourself a big favor welding that plow frame to the truck. I always welded my westerns on nice and tight. When you plow blizzards people have no idea how junk bolts can loosen up and the next thing that happens is you drive over that nice and new shiny new plow.Ha. Be careful and stay safe 😀
Those tires definitely help but with that plow and big diesel engine on/in the front of that small/light truck body it could use a little something extra. Put 600-900 lbs of sandbags or something in the bed over the axle and that would make a big difference as well I'm willing to bet. Edit: We liked having a few old car tires filled with concrete. They stick to the bed better and don't slide around and beat things to death as bad while being relatively easy to load and unload depending on how big a tire you used.
Good job Andrew. I was impressed to see you check your balance with the lift plates on the hoist in the early part of the video. I've seen a few trucks dive off the lift because this was overlooked. I just acquired a 95 1 ton dualy power wagon with the 8L V-10 . Have been looking for a used plow to put on it. Oh and I have put the Cooper Discovers tiers on it with similar tread pattern as yours. Shouldn't need to drill holes in the doors, use the factory drain holes.

A bit of weight over the rear axle makes a huge difference too.

@@solidamanda I agree with you. I admire him greatly. Watch the video where he removes a cylinder from either the Ditch Witch or the forklift (it's orange). He initially decided to send the cylinder out to be repaired, yet the video towards the end, shows him too curious and he attempts to open the cylinder himself. In the video where he actually builds a wooden door from scratch and because it was so thick, the hardware did not fit....the lock and the doorknob. He actually extended the pieces to go through the thick door. He is beyond remarkable.

Stainless is more expensive and heavier, the latter also eating out of your max payload rating.
It makes perfect sense to me why truck bodies are built out of stamped sheet metal🤷♂️
@Ben T. the main issue with it is that all current after-market modifications aren't compatible whether it be a salter, a plow, or a toolbox. Additionally, there aren't all that many dealerships and you could have a long drive to get parts for it.
@@LifeRunner4000 not only is stainless itself more expensive (about 10x as much), also working with it is a major pain in the ass (read - also expensive). There's a good reason cybertruck looks like from an 80s video game, and it's not just the aesthetics.

Winters are commonly referred to as the next year. We get first snow in October or November and it runs through March or April. Winter 2020 has already happened. This is the 2021 plowing season.

3 years later after I left a comment about how I wasn’t sure about these wideout plows and I’ve been using one for about 2 seasons and I gotta say, absolutely love it. I’m a firm believer that each plow serves its own purpose BUT I think a wideout is probably one of the most versatile plows in the market today.

Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are the best truck tire ever made. I've been using them for 10 years in Alberta all winter on all my 1 tons and will never switch. That hill would have been unnoticeable with them.

In the latter part of the video he had the mud KO's awesome tires no noise on the interstate and good mileage if you run the ten ply we easily get 70,000 miles run mountain roads and three hundred mile interstate trips each way on our 2nd gen 360 gasoline Dodge sadly Marylands salt brine has it rusting worse than Andrew's
He ain't wrong. Sure, whatever is on look like thread, but man is it of poor quality that goes away fast.
The fact that he had a set of cheap deestone garabge tires on it might be why he was having trouble lol. Buy the cheapest tires on ebay and then wonder why they suck.

Great content. You did yourself a big favor welding that plow frame to the truck. I always welded my westerns on nice and tight. When you plow blizzards people have no idea how junk bolts can loosen up and the next thing that happens is you drive over that nice and new shiny new plow.Ha.

Those tires definitely help but with that plow and big diesel engine on/in the front of that small/light truck body it could use a little something extra. Put 600-900 lbs of sandbags or something in the bed over the axle and that would make a big difference as well I'm willing to bet.
Edit: We liked having a few old car tires filled with concrete. They stick to the bed better and don't slide around and beat things to death as bad while being relatively easy to load and unload depending on how big a tire you used.

nah too many negatives with that, spend the 500$ and get a front locker be done with it, help in the summer on soft properties too

Good job Andrew. I was impressed to see you check your balance with the lift plates on the hoist in the early part of the video. I've seen a few trucks dive off the lift because this was overlooked. I just acquired a 95 1 ton dualy power wagon with the 8L V-10 . Have been looking for a used plow to put on it. Oh and I have put the Cooper Discovers tiers on it with similar tread pattern as yours. The extra weight up front causes the truck to lose traction on the rear axle, adds weight to the wagon and problem solved.
