  • We are very excited to introduce this, the first Lecture on Priesthood. These first few presentations within the Lectures on Priesthood will be a series on the principle of prophets. There are so many great principles to cover I hope the listener will watch these in the order they are intended. Every presentation will build on the next and hopefully we can drive towards an increase in light, testimony, and conversion to Jesus Christ.

These doctrines were a life line for me 9 years ago and continue to be the reason I stay with the church! When I finally began to understand what Jospeh was actually restoring and the structure he was calling us to embody, I could never look back again.

Seeking for Christ and spirituality and understanding has led me to blessings that God has led me to sustain the church and leaders despite their weaknesses.

In minute 30 you explained how people who once had a strong testimony can loose it. I have been pondering this question lately. Thank you.

41:25 it’s definitely not taught and a lost doctrine to most of the church. I’m one of those people who was never taught this so thank you so much for making clear things I wish I’d know sooner. I pray God gives me more time so I can repent and have my calling made sure. God bless

This was lovely! Your presentation, the patterns shown, those validating quotes, and the Spirit filled scriptures in 76... powerful! This was beyond what I envisioned for this lecture. We are so blessed 🙌
PS - to have family and friends who desire to discuss these things with you, Todd, how wonderful and blessed you are 🤍
    Still seeking for those conversations.

It’s hard to find them in your ward because they’re so humble. The Spirit will help you identify them if you ask, though.

I only had a “one shot” opportunity to look at this “progression through the kingdoms” concept was over thirty years ago when a trusted friend in a temple presidency allowed me to read his first edition Articles of Faith by Elder Talmage. If I recall correctly Elder Talmage wrote the moon fills up and empties out as progression and repentance takes place thus fulfilling the Fathers plan of exalting his children as they become ready through exercising their agency. Now I have probably butchered the reading but it was not repeated in any subsequent editions.
As per usual this is an excellent study of the scripture by brother Todd. Very thought provoking

I think they stopped teaching about Calling and Election because many felt discouraged feeling they were never good enough to make it happen because they didnt understand HOW to bring it about. I think we were trying to do it ourselves and didnt know how to access the help of the Saviour .

Saints are holy people washed clean in the blood of Lamb. They have the testimony of Jesus Christ or the spirit or prophecy. The very name of the church tells us that we are supposed to be a church of prophets.

I love what you’re sharing on the testimony of Jesus! Some feedback, I am 46 minutes in and there has been probably 6 or 7 commercial breaks. I don’t mind maybe 2 or 3, but this is tricky because I’m trying to discern by the spirit what you’re saying.

As much as I hate helping to line the pockets of Google…if you use TH-cam a lot for gospel study or otherwise, consider a premium subscription. Totally worth the 20 bucks per month - no commercials and ability to download videos for offline viewing.

One with whom God establishes a relationship with due to their just way of living and never having greed to cause hurt, harm, grief or loss to any.
And then they do as told but never for evil or wrong against any.
Each prophet had his own life, some cursed, some killed those who wanted to kill them, some were murdered and for some God killed their enemies.
For some came instructions of guidance for others who preached right ways of worshipping.
They prayed and had others healed, called upon God and kept their trust.
Those who never seeked how to get benefits to cause loss for others.
Humans they were like any other, except their ways of living and where they came from.
Like Angels who dwell in a different heaven, prophets dwell with God.
Hans who become priests and pastors and preachers, and nun and those who believe in God live faithfully worshipping God alone get to go to another heaven.
Depending on the relationship with God, some get to heaven, some to eternal heaven.
Yet, in the eyes of God even the prophets on earth are humans like any other and there is no difference between them. Except certain things. Certain authorities. Which they get from childhood.
They are brought up in different ways, according to the will of God.
Some were given relationship with God since early age.
Some had to grow up as humans, to worship and you experience God.
Yet each had been innocent. Those who lived their lives, with their trust , faith, longing for God and responsibilities towards parents.
None who rejoiced in evil doings, not one prophet said use sorcery or go to a sorceror.
Nor God ever made a promise of forgiveness for sorcerors. Nor ever did God forgave sorcerors.
Nor God forgave those who took pride in Sorcerors.
Nor God forgave those who intentionally did wrong against others.
Hence, only true difference between human and prophet is origin and, relationship which God establishes with them.
Some made mistakes , yet forgiven for their truthfulness and repentance.
Some never made any mistake. But every prophet thought about well being of others before thinking about themselves.
Rest, everyone can be dear or dearest to God. Not any can become Masih or prophet.
Se are given vision of their origin , like prophet Mohammed, while travelling was shown 6th heaven, where he saw Jibrael the Angel.
He said to his companion , the time it took for him to be there and back was equivalent to a wink of an eye.

I believe receiving a remission of sins or being born again is celestial, not terrestrial. The kingdom of God is where God is or the Celestial world. John 3:3-5 says you cannot see or enter the kingdom of God unless you have been born of water and the spirit. This is the first or bottom celestial level.
This is the beginning of the gospel, not the end, meaning it's not so difficult and impossible to receive. We learn in Enos that a remission of sins comes because of faith.
Jesus is the beginning, the way, and the end.
Becoming born again and receiving a remission of sins is the beginning. The way is retaining a remission of our sins, and the end is becoming like Jesus.
Be ye therefore prefect means, receive and retain a remission of your sins.
When you receive a remission or your sins, you're no longer just a believer, but a witness. You have a testimony or can witness that Jesus will do what he says he will do. This is what it means to have a testimony of Jesus or the spirit of prophecy.

The scriptures indicate that being born again is certainly required to see and enter the kingdom of God, but is not the same as actually doing so.
When we leave the garden and find ourselves in the lone and dreary world, the place we begin is telestial. The initial covenants we make regarding obedience, sacrifice, and the law of the gospel move us into a terrestrial glory. Passing into the Celestial then requires faithfulness to all covenants made at all levels, and is ushered in by the Lord Himself.
In D&C 76, we also read of those beings called celestial:
51 They are they who received the testimony of Jesus, and believed on his name and were baptized after the manner of his burial, being buried in the water in his name, and this according to the commandment which he has given-
      52 That by keeping the commandments they might be washed and cleansed from all their sins, and receive the Holy Spirit by the laying on of the hands of him who is ordained and sealed unto this power;
53 And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.
54 They are they who are the church of the Firstborn.
55 They are they into whose hands the Father has given all things-
      56 They are they who are priests and kings, who have received of his fulness, and of his glory;
57 And are priests of the Most High, after the order of Melchizedek, which was after the order of Enoch, which was after the order of the Only Begotten Son.
58 Wherefore, as it is written, they are gods, even the sons of God-
59 Wherefore, all things are theirs, whether life or death, or things present, or things to come, all are theirs and they are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
60 And they shall overcome all things.

@ShatteringTriangles after you have been baptized and received a remission of your sins, you can see and enter the kingdom God, which is the celestial kingdom.
To be born again, you have to repent and have a broken heart and contrite spirit and have faith as described in Enos.
