In many respects, it the essence and end of the restoration, and the lifeline we must take hold of to survive our modern crisis-both individually and as a church-or else the whole earth will be "utterly wasted at his coming" (D&C 2:3). It provides a clear framework in which we can...

    Love your discussions! On the topic of things getting weird, after 2 1/2 years of repentance and being born again I found myself standing in front of my ward on fast Sunday after a seven day fast, saying things that most non-born again members won’t understand, one thing that came out of my mouth was “the best kept secret in the church is the gospel“, I think I was almost as surprised to hear that as was my ward and the stake president and all those seated there. Yeah things can get a little different.

    44:15 exercising faith is not repentance, nor is repentance how one levels up. Repentance keeps one on the path. But the descent and assent to the next level is proving oneself valiant through trial, suffering.

    Last thought (loved all your thoughts by the way). Alma and Amulek were joint teachers. Alma taught things that pertained to Melchizedek priesthood principles and Amulek taught things that pertained to the Aaronic priesthood. If we struggle to understand the Melchizedek principles we need to first understand the aaronic principles. Alma taught about faith in Alma 32 and how to plant that seed in 33. But then Amulek takes over and teaches in Alma 34 to help the Zoramites understand Alma's words. Understanding better what Amulek taught will prepare us to be able to exercise faith on Alma's words. For example: one thing Amulek teaches is about the Atonement. By understanding the atonement of Jesus Christ better we will be able to better exercise real life changing faith.

  • @Shaballah707
    @Shaballah707 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The way we exercise faith is by believing (Alma 32:16). We refuse to believe when we are not humble, which is why Alma spent time discussing the importance of humility. If believing in something yields hope then we know that the seed is of God. Unbelief will not grow, even well intended unbelief. The longer we practice vanity by exercising unbelief the harder our heart becomes until we are in the chains of hell. How can we tell if we have faith? "If ye have faith [then you will] hope for things which are not seen, which are true.". Hope is the result of faith, not the action that produces faith. That leaves me wondering what does hope look like? How is hope different than wishful thinking? If I can't identify what real hope looks like I will likely not be able to identify faith.

    • @c.douglass8170
      @c.douglass8170 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is a good line of thinking. But hope is more than wishful thinking. It is setting your sights on truth, while faith is believing unto action in order to create, or realize, what is hoped for. True hope lies only in God and His Son. The only ones who may and will deliver always on their promises. Paul wrote about this beautifully, Hebrews 6 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 16 For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. 17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, 18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. 19¶This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

    It is people who commit adultery, not fornicators, that seek after signs when called to repentance. This isn't just talking about sex. Asking for a sign is like a married man asking for proof that he is actually married. The consequences can't be good when he knows he is violating his covenant with his wife. It seems to me if you've been enlightened by God because you've repented (2 Nephi 30:2) you are in a covenant relationship. If you forget that covenant and then ask for a sign when called to repentance it will not benefit you because you know better. If you are unmarried and asking your date for a sign that you are married, or want to be married, you get on your knee and propose.

  • @Shaballah707

    The wayside is when we are in the chains of hell (2 Nephi 28:22). In this state our heart is in bondage because we have been flattered. Humbling this ground will require harrowing to remove this bondage. If we are not yet wrapped up in the chains of hell but instead are pacified (2 Nephi 28:21) by the gain we receive from our sins, I believe we can pray for the spirit to soften our heart as Todd was suggesting. Mosiah 3:19 describes the need for us to recognize ourself as an enemy to God first. The next step is yielding to the enticings of the spirit. If we already see ourself as an enemy to God we don't need to be harrowed and can ask for that spirit to soften our heart.

    At one point in the discussion (around 1:09:00), you identify a similarity between (1) Ammon saying that King Lamoni’s wife had greater faith than all the Nephites and (2) Jesus saying to the Gentile woman (who sought a blessing for her child) that her faith was greater than all the house of Israel. Well, Jesus never said that to the woman. It reads: Matthew 15 24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. 28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. Here is want Jesus said to the centurion: Matthew 8 5¶ And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. 8The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 10When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

    A question was asked around 1:06:00 about why King Lamoni had a huge change of heart and Josh postulated that it was the miracles that convinced him. Alma 18 states 5Now this was the tradition of Lamoni, which he had received from his father, that there was a Great Spirit. Notwithstanding they believed in a Great Spirit, they supposed that whatsoever they did was right; nevertheless, Lamoni began to fear exceedingly, with fear lest he had done wrong in slaying his servants; 6For he had slain many of them because their brethren had scattered their flocks at the place of water; and thus, because they had had their flocks scattered they were slain. He began to be harrowed up in his sins, which I believe was a major reason for him crying for mercy in verse 41.

    The wisdom of the fathers holds the keys of knowledge for how we become one with the Father. It's all about the inner work that must be done to come into alignment with Him. This knowledge is available to those spiritually prepared to receive it but it's not being taught at church. Coming into alignment with the Father is the Living Way. It's life enhancing and joyful. Our patriarchal imbalance is the source of all of our suffering. At church the focus is on obedience to the law and on ritual performance. Fundamentalism is not the way to the oneness Jesus says we can have. The wisdom of the Fathers is actually the sacred feminine wisdom and supports healing, transformation, and our spiritual ascension.

    • @ShatteringTriangles
      @ShatteringTriangles 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Innerharmony888 I believe an important key is to never disentangle the two. As I believe I quoted C.S. Lewis in the video, the adversary often sends lies into the world in pairs, hoping your disdain for the one will drive you into the arms of the other. “Neither is the man without the woman, nor the woman without the man, in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 11:11). It would be more accurate to say that the inner work done to come into alignment with God is inherently feminine. Yet, its outward expression, order, etc. is equally important to bonding us all together. As I pointed out in the video, focusing solely on the inner work in oneself works like Chinese handcuffs. The harder you pull, the tighter it gets; the more you lean into it, the more enlightenment and peace and emotional balance will feel just out of reach. Feminine imbalance is just as possible as masculine imbalance, and trying to get away from the imbalance of one usually leads to the imbalance of the other. The feminine inner work and masculine outer work but be fully integrated (like a marriage), otherwise there won’t be any fruit produced.

    Why doesn't God intervene "sooner"? I believe it's because He is a Divine Parent who loves ALL his children and wants to ensure all the time needed for us to grow & become. He's raising His children & just as it is sooo difficult for us as parents to "cut a child off" let alone banish them to outer darkness, burn them as stubble etc. His love is so incomprehensibly vast & good for all His children, He waits for us to grow ...& trust in our Divine Parents.THATS why the awful sacrifice/gift of His only Begotten, our Savior & redeemer is SO AMAZING! AMAZING GRACE that saves wrenches like us~ and what gives me better understanding of the word WORSHIP.

    Great insights Cameron and Todd. As someone who finds much benefit in the shattering triangles content, AND as someone who recently accepted the covenant of the remnant movement of which Denver Snuffer is associated, I was delighted to see the overlap of ideas as it pertains to this spirit of Elijah; Namely that this spirit is principally about the necessity of going back to the beginning to restore the original religion, and sealing ourselves to the patriarchal fathers in Heaven (Adam, Seth...), not to our kindred dead. The only main difference that seemingly was left out was the many post-1836 quotes by Joseph of Elijah's future coming. As always, I look forward to further discussions. God bless!

Fake ministers all know Malachi 3 8 is telling THEM to return the money and Matthew 19 12 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 says God prefers same-sex marriage and confirms transgender people are born that way. Fake ministers all over the world know the natural disasters, shootings, wars, diseases, famines, etc will get worse until THEY repent by returning the money and tell everyone they have known God prefers same-sex marriage. JESUS was TRANSGENDER 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈, a female man returning as a female woman in a lesbian relationship with a male woman. Trump supporters all took the mark of the beast. Trump is the man of sin the bible promises to banish. World peace is coming for those that remain and God's real people will soon transfigure and never pass on again.

    Help me understand. I thought one of the attributes of being faithful to the Davidic Covenant (fullness of the priesthood) was divine protection for you and your immediate family. A type of this is Noah. I thought the women and children being thrown in the fire were those who did not have a covering or faithful priesthood protection. This is what Ruth was seeking from Boaz. Are you saying that Alma and Almulek were watching their own families being consumed in the fire? I thought it was pretty clear that unfaithful men put their families at peril. Isaiah 9:17 New King James Version (NKJV) Therefore the Lord will have no joy in their young men, Nor have mercy on their fatherless and widows; For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer...

      It is an interpolation from the text but I think a pretty reasonable one. Notwithstanding the general promises in the scriptures you are quoting, the text says specifically that women and children of Ammonihah who had been taught to believe in the words of Alma and Amulek were the victims here. That would not include Alma’s family-who did not live in Ammonihah and whom we have record of later- but it would include Amulek’s family. This is also supported by the fact that there was nothing for Amulek to go back to (Alma 15:16, 18) in Ammonihah and so he simply went and lived with Alma in Alma’s house. It is certainly hard to imagine a case in which Amulek’s family would not have been first to be harmed by people who were after all angry at Amulek specifically. And if he got them out of the land before he began preaching we have no record of it and it would be hard to explain why he then went to live with Alma instead of with his own family. I don’t think any of us will ever know for certain, but at any rate that is the reasoning we used to get there and I think it is consistent with what the text says.

    It is true that hearing the word of God, is very important to our salvation, but there are no prophets on earth today, if there was the bible would have told us so, Hebrews 1: 1-2 "Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world." The prophets ceased to play a part after the New Testament, we now have the Word of God, the scriptures, we can have personal revelation through the scriptures, this must line up with the scriptures 100% of the time. We are to test everything, if it contradicts the bible, it is false teaching.

      I am Elijah of Malachi 4, the forerunner to the return of Jesus. World peace is coming for those that remain and God's real people will soon transfigure and never pass on again. Trump supporters all took the mark of the beast along with the rest of the wicked. Trump is the man of sin the bible promises to banish.

    Like you guys already said, it means a lot more in the lectures on faith when they describe the ages of Adam and his righteous sons. You realize how long they were alive living together. I just love the idea of "the fathers". I often think of becoming a partaker in their divine nature, becoming like them. It's so amazing to think of the true expanded meaning of the spirit of Elijah... Connecting to the fathers like Abraham did, receiving the same promises. Thank you for those wonderful thoughts.
