Issues that you did not mention with this exact setup: -wifi interference much worse when GPU is connected (known issue from beelink who offer a "copper sticker" to put on the protruding PCB part of the pcie connector, unfortunately does very little to solve the issue. Had to get them to refund me the price of a USB wifi adapter. - all USB3 ports have a lot worse interference than regular Mobo for some reason, not sure where the issue lies but using an RF connector on any of the usb 3 connectors will make using a wireless mouse unbearable at times ! -Same issue with Bluteooth when external GPU is connected to the dock, depending on the load it will interfere with the bluetooth, again i had to use a bluetooth dongle and turn off Intel's AX200 module completely. Pre-installed windows had a whole load of issues and also had to reinstall a fresh copy and i also ran into the same issues regarding drivers but after a quick chat they sent me the link to all the drivers via a drive link. Overall really good performance but yes it is pretty finicky. Am i happy with it ? Its ok, beats my old M1 MAX by a huge margin especially when editing videos and photos and gaming is awesome with the added 4070 Super
Manufacturers need to include a tiny thumb drive with drivers. They used to include CDs, then people started thinking Windows would automatically find drivers for you. The sorry truth is we're still hunting for drivers in 2024. And how is it possible to have a windows install that prevents the installing of microsoft redistributables ?
On the contrary, it can give hints to where to look at, I'm not sure which WiFi chip this mini PC has, but I have heard about faulty performance on other Beelink mini PCs on wifi and bluetooth, perhaps it is the windows limitation you speak of in the video or that particular chip was in bad shape.
Nice review. This is the first review that is making me have second thoughts with this setup. The windows not working properly and having to trouble shoot it out the box isn't something I'm looking forward too along with the questionable wifi performance. Is it possible that you got a difficile model. This is the only review that I see mention the windows 11 not working. If it's standard that windows 11 has to be setup on all pcs then I'm gonna pass. I want it to be plug and play
It seems it looses more performance than oculink despite the bigger bandwidth, was that your experience? Also, do you recommend to pair this with a 4080 or 90 with the 12 pin adapter?
What makes you think that? On the contrary it works almost lossless. Keep in mind that in my comparison I have different CPUs and the 12700K will be a bit more powerful. 4080/90 can be connected in theory, but personally I wouldn't because of the reasons mentioned in the video. And don't forget about the CPU bottleneck
@@trysometech52 looking at videos from ETA prime and the oculink does better on a 4090. I personally have a 4080 with oculink and on benchmark tests the oculink was getting better performance than some other people with this dock. Time spy and steel nomad. The game ETA prime showed were at 4k so CPU should play little role in that right?
That's not how you should compare them. You need same CPU/RAM/ list of games/ settings (and so on) to correctly compare them. That's exactly how I did in my previous video with 4090 on testing Oculink\Thunderbolt\PCIe x16. So you can see how and where bandwidth affect performance. Oculink just factually can't perform better than this Dock, since I checked bandwidth on the Dock and it had double score over Oculink. 4k resolution = less CPU depending, that's correct. But in my experience, games with RTX require more bandwidth, so it's better to compare there.
@@trysometech52 got it, that's a good explanation, so maybe the 8845h is just that much better than the Intel CPU. Perhaps on a 5080 this would make more sense, or if they ever release an AMD variant of this
It’s a good product, but it’s considered to be more expensive, but it’s closer to being a PC build depends what’s the what’s the bandwidth because if it perform like a desktop then it should be a good size 🖥️ PC which is means can be more po
It’s like you don’t use an overkill graphic card it’s probably the minimum graphic card you can use is the RTX 4060 TI or you can use a new graphic card they released which is a Intel arc B580 which is a good graphic card you can use for $250 and it’s a good one to use

I'm going to be using this with my old 2070 Super, so its perfect. Thanks for the video

I love this concept, I personally am just waiting until they can get all PCIe lanes available on it before I invest in a mini PC and dock solution
I think 8x4.0 is already enough for an almost lossless connection. Don't forget that GPUs like the RTX 4060\Ti only use 8 lines
Sometimes I think I get too carried away and start talking about unnecessary things like drivers. But that's part of the user experience, right?
absolutely
