    Eh, so many pessimistic people in the comments. I think this is a total home run in the exterior and interior design. It’s much nicer than anything else on the market. Good second step by Infiniti towards growth. For their third and fourth step, they would be introducing the next gen Q50 and QX65. By how good the QX60 and QX80 is, I think we can know the Q50 and Q65 would be epic.

    Nice redesign of an already really good luxury SUV. As a tall guy, I really dislike this trend toward putting a glass roof on everything. It eats a significant amount of headroom and there are a number of vehicles I no longer fit comfortably into, at 6'2, because of just that. They should at least allow an option to delete it for people who don't want it. Regardless, this new QX80 is not worth anywhere NEAR that amount of money, and neither is the competition. Just leave them all on the lot to rot until manufacturers come back to reality. No matter what gaslighting program they try to feed you, it's not inflation, it's outright greed.

    While I am a true infiniti fan and owning 3 infiniti in the past and still holding on to my QX56 with 493K miles on it. I think the redesign is a few years too late. The design is nice they missed a few things compared to all others except the LX600. No electronic running boards, no wheel option (despite the updated styling on last gen wheels) No color interior options other than the red interior in Autograph. No long wheel base for larger families or those who want a longer version. The push shifter is a joke for the price of this one. Now the Klipsch speaker is a welcome update over the Bose for sure. The Panoramic roof doesn’t look smooth with the bar between the rows. I hope the new engine proves to be a reliable as the old V8 engine. Great review Alex.

It's their #2 seller now in its dated form. It should do great to bring some life back into the brand. In spite of all the modern tech, this kind of luxury just feels stuffy and a relic of the past to me. My 2 cents, if one is getting a serious off roader, just get the base trim land cruiser / patrol and drive it until the wheels fall off. Serious offroading and luxury dont go well together.

    It has a strong EV look. Surprised it's gas-powered. I think it's the first good-looking car Infiniti has released since the 2014 Q50 release. I don't know the demographics of infiniti buyers this day for new vehicles. Lexus and Acura picked up a lot of market share when Nissan decided they didn't care about making care anymore. This seems like a great used pickup or lease only. For everyone talking about a V8 not being there, why would it? Do you think Nissan is building a new ground-up V8 for this vehicle only? Emissions folks. You can't expect them to put the development into a new v8 with the low market share they have. Of course, the Escalade has one. GM has a ton of v8s they can recycle. It's not the same. It's got great power. A big engine doesn't equal better.

    Alex, Infiniti and Nissan have been selling full-size SUVs by substantially undercutting the prices of their chief rivals. At the price level quoted in this report, they have
    no chance of succeeding. 🤨

      While by not as much, they're still undercutting the competition. To get all the features in a loaded Autograph, the competition would cost more, or simply not have some of the features offered on the QX80 and still cost more. It's simply 2024 and $100k+ loaded is the new standard for this class. Infiniti is just late to the party because they couldn't ask that much with the old QX80 being so dated.

    I'm sorry, but that price is insane. High end luxury vehicles are barely selling today, why are they selling this for 6 figures? Even at $82k that's nearly $10k over this years model and I am guessing no electrification? At least offer a hybrid or a PHEV. And while I get rhe fact that the competition is starting at the same, a 10 year old LX is hard to find below $30k, meanwhile QX80 I can find at Carmax off lease for $30k -50k.

    Went to a Nissan dealer in a loaded Supra and they wanted a credit check before I could test drive it, umm no thanks. Aud dealer let me test drive a $115k eTron GT no problem. Biggest issue beyond product is teh Nissan/Infiniti dealers in teh US.

    The styling is kinda... I don't know. It's just sorta like, where are they gonna put trim pieces in a box with a smaller box on top of it. I think the Chevy, the GMC, the Lexus and the Range Rover are all much prettier outside. All these cars are kind of vulgar because they use SO MUCH FUEL. For anyone towing a boat or a large camper I understand why this would be useful, but I've never seen an Infinity tow anything. It's disappointing no one makes a hybrid. This money could also buy a Mercedes GLS 580 which would be a lot nicer to drive (I'd guess). So I think this is a solid update, I'm just not sure about the concept.

    What's the point in designing and building such a huge and heavy vehicle, but giving it so little cargo space behind the 3rd row? This would make much more sense if it was 1ft longer.

    • @bigd7386
      @bigd7386 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Most LX owners are not doing anything like that, and it seems Infiniti is aware of that and know it's no point in bloating the price with off-road features and mechanics no one is going to use. BUT, with the off-raod craze, they may just offer an Armada model that finally offers all the Patrols off-road prowess.
