Surron Ultra Bee Big Wheels | The Enduro Killer Upgrade

- In the last video, Cyprien got to know and appreciate the Sur Ron Ultra Bee. Huge suspensions compared to the Light Bee, brakes that brake hard and don't overheat on long downhills, and above all a bike really made for Cyprien's size.
However, perfection is a rare thing, and the Ultra Bee is no exception.
One of this bike's biggest flaws is its wheels. Whether for reasons of economy or weight, the Ultra comes standard with 19-inch wheels and the feeling is far from being perfect. Not to mention the original tires, which Cyprien managed to burst in just two rides.
Lack of gripp, turning ability, poor geometry and odd, hard-to-manage behavior... after just a few kilometers, we knew this was a bike made for a set of 21/18 wheels.
I was foresighted and already had a 21/18 set ready for when we received the Ultra.
So, is this size the best one for the Ultra, does it change the bike's behavior? Should you consider buying a set even before your Ultra?

Fun video guys! I’m surprised your Skydio followed you that well with the trees and bushes. I have two and both get lost by the slightest bush between me and the drone- and that’s with the beacon linked to the drone, and the most recent updates. Anyhow, yeah the 21/18 combo is the only way to go!
It really depends on the height and camera angle! It's funny to read your message now as I lost it 3 days ago (low battery and I was slightly too optimistic). Managed to rescue it yesterday after it spent 2 days and nights out there 😛

Hey there. Nope, not really. As it has a better rollover you end up being able to ride smoother in enduro. I guess it compensâtes the added weight

We'll dedicate a video to mileage but Cyprien is 80kg and you can do about 50km with this type of riding.

everytime i see your content it makes me think like the lightbee modified is the better bike to have, can esily be transporter, is a lot less kg and same power
They are different beasts but yeah, for a rider who's not too tall, the Light Bee is a weapon (and easy to live with)!
You can spend the money in the lightbee and it will never brake as good as the UB due to the mtb brakes. Nor will the riding ergonomics feel as full since the lightbee is so narrow and has a short seat. You would end up spending quite a bit more money on the LB just to be as good as the UB
@@surronsd don't agree here. Sur the UB stock is better than the LB, but you can't really say one is better than the other once completed. As a light and short rider myself, I feel more at ease on the LB on technical trails and I bet no one on an UB can follow on MTB trails or bike park.
@@MTO_Brothers we’ve just did quite a bit of testing with fully modified LBs and a couple Almost stock UB(bars and wheels/tires) and our whole group agreed unless you are the tightest technical trails, the UB just rides that much better. Braking and seating ergonomics were just that much better (wider frame). Having said that none of us are very short but riding same trails back to back you could easily see where the LB struggled through the rocky enduro sections, higher speed rough sections the UB floated through where as the LB was very bouncey and didn’t have the same stability. myself personally coming from a fully modified lightbee with some of the best components on the market, vs my new ultrabee I miss the lighter weight of the lightbee but with all the stuff I had (16/19 wheels, gladiator max battery, etc) the weight was as big of a change as I originally thought it would, the ultra still rides like a larger lightbee and significantly more nimble then a traditional big petrol bike
@@surronsd I mostly agree. 21/18 on the LB is the better comparison with the Ultra. I love both bikes but with my size (170cm) and weight I'm more efficient on the LB. Now my brother who's taller and heavier than me feels really confortable on the Ultra.

I feel more weight toward the rear
Handles good but the front suspension seems to ride a little high not using all the travel??!!
The tyre is obviously heavier but up front too, so I'd say it's still balanced. I haven't noticed the suspensions not working fully though…

Been riding there for years, we always anticipate and never had trouble crossing people (doesn’t happen that often though)

No we still have the stock wheels, we went for KKE hubs here.
Does he ride the UB with traction control fully off? What did he mean by "full sensor"?
Yeah, we haven't used it once… Gonna remove it altogether real soon with the ABS. It was the fall sensor that triggered (this one's gonna go too).
@@MTO_Brothers Thank you! I had TC off but still felt like I wasn't getting drive at difficult transitions. I had the fall sensor on. Will turn that off from now on.
Program mode C is the tilt sensor settings, change that to “C0” and no more power cut outs 👍🏼👍🏼

Woooow, way too many miles of trails to take care of the growing nature. But it’s part of the game and the very reason we use hand guards 😝

These are Vee Rubbers. But we’ll try different things to see what’s best
