Excellent quality video. I now know jujitsu. I like how you laid the parts out so you knew the order to reassemble as well as the particular things you mentioned to pay close attention to prevent damage. Well done.
what made you think you needed to rebuild them?
You rebuilt them wrong.
The old diaphragms have a spacer between them. It has to be removed and fed through between the new ones.
Hope you didn't throw them away.....
Thanks, Allan! When I did the second one, I discovered the error - which is why I did one at a time, so I could check on the old one. I filmed it but couldn't find the footage. I just found it and will post a part 2 of the video (hopefully today) with the correction.
Where would you get a tank?
That's a tough question. If I had to buy a tank now, I'd either look for a donor bike or check out ebay.

where did you get your rebuild kit?
If you look in the description l, you’ll see the link to the kit.
@@Rustrevivalgarage also my filters, the long ones are ate up from 20 years of bad gas. Any idea what to use since I heard you say you couldn’t find replacement? I have also looked and no luck yet. I just started repairing a 1979 Eleven Special and this is our first problem.
@brownte2 Good question. I’m sure you could get used petcock filters on eBay. There are also entire petcock alternatives (maybe non-vacuum versions) that could replace your originals, if that’s an option. But other than that, I’m not sure.
