Yeah, when you go to the trouble of publishing a book called Wolverine's Revenge, you expect a TON of pages filled with Wolvie tearing through his enemies, not standing around talking with Dani Moonstar. The Risso Long Halloween art looks fantastic, but no surprise if you're familiar with his work. But why give it the EXACT SAME TITLE as the classic one drawn by Sale?!?
To be fair there was some action and it of course looked great, it’s just after seeing Capullo deliver some of the best art of his career during his last few projects, having there be so many scenes of talking…just felt like a missed opportunity (at least so far). I also think as far as The Last Halloween, I think they really wanted to drive home this was connected to those stories by putting The Long Halloween on the cover somewhere. Just a guess.
Congrats on becoming a published letters page hack -- that's awesome! Love your point about looking at comics and thinking about whether the art is available -- it's like the most dangerous and expensive Sears/Toys R' Us catalog ever!
It really is, collecting art has 100% changed how I read new stories. I wish it wasn’t always the case, but it is what it is. Some get upset when they hear a story was drawn digitally, not me! That’s just called “saving money” 😂
