Not a boring week at all. Scarlett's big reveal was that the sword was energon. I guess it'll be more relevant when GI Joe 1 comes out. Transformers 13 was fun to see threads to past issues and this origin story is just 2 issues. Absolute Batman 1, I think older Batman fans can handle these elseworlds stories just fine.
@@marcuswai The thing with that big reveal in Scarlett was that it wasn’t a surprise. From the start I was assuming that whatever they were after was somehow connected to Energon so it seemed fairly straightforward. Not bad per se, just also not very surprising. I agree older readers can handle an elseworlds Batman, but they are also likely to be the ones who complain about the differences the most. If they let it be what it is, there is something certainly interesting there.
I also didn't want to let go of Corona on art for Transformers, but Howard really won me over. I hear you about looking forward to Wednesdays. I was about to shift all my subscriptions over to digital when the Energon Universe happened and totally scuttled those plans. It's all good, though, because - like you said - it's fun!
@@Moonbase3 We’ve been spoiled for this series so far, DWJ was a tough act to follow as is now Jorge! Howard’s style definitely works here, slightly on the happier side of things but that is also in part due to the flashback story being told. I think his style works incredibly well in the world of GI Joe, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him tackle some of those story arcs on the main Joe title in time.
Read Absolute Batman I really liked it, the violence I liked, not happy with some of the words being bleeped out, they didn't do it with Creature Commando's (which was great by the way) and that's not a Black Label either, but's almost the only negative. I'm glad we've Alfred back, even though it's a totally different Alfred, the last page irritates a bit, would of been happier with a different "villain", but all in all a great start! My copy of Terminator didn't turn up my comic supplier received damaged copies, so should get it next week. Mind you listening to your synopsis, I feel I've read the story before, so may cancel after #1. I tried Transformers and the other parts of the Energon Universe, I wanted to like them, but it just wasn't for me, I was in my late 20's when Transformers began so have no childhood memory of it, it was also the same year I sold my first comic collection, so I had a break from geekdom, so missed lots around that time! Nice video!
Thanks for the comment & kind words! The more I sat with Absolute Batman, the more I could appreciate what they are trying to do (or at least my understanding of what they are hoping to achieve). Terminator was fun, it set up a promising concept of having these various Terminators dispatched through time. I imagine there will be some sort of connective tissues to then tell a larger story but for an issue 1, it gave me what I was looking for (while also not completely straying from something someone might expect from a Terminator story). Time will tell if it’s a solid story!

Thanks for the reviews, Carl. I read Absolute Batman, but I'll say what I have to say about it tonight, live on my show!
After 4 hours, I still can't figure out if Ruben thought Penguin and Absolute Batman are related in some way. Anyways, Ruben saw the Fault in Our Stars and put the blame on both stars of the movie for making him laugh so hard.

@@marcuswai No, you should know I actually put the blame on mame! But it WAS a pretty funny movie.

Thanks Rubén! I look forward to hearing those thoughts!
