I doubt it, Keith Richards makes more money despite being really really old and in no position to give half a flying fuck about making massive money because he already made more than enough of it ~40 years ago. Fuk I'm drunk. But, this song is decent shit and I like it
There aren’t too many charismatic bands like this these days. Everything is electronic, and we have the best electronic music in the history of music. I however refuse to believe the death of rock music. ;)
I've loved The Cure since I was introduced to them in the late 80's. I play the guitar and I've had numerous dreams where I have played with them on stage or hung out before a gig. This is as close as my dreams are to to real life.
We COMPLETELY missed this, didn't get to see it over here in The United States. This wasn't even aired in America and have no idea who this Host guy is. You Brits are LUCKY to have had a show that featured The Cure live. America was probably airing it's "Yo MTV Raps" GARBAGE, while you guys were watching this! Anyway, we get to see it now. Cheers 🍻 From: Reno, Nevada U.S.A.🇺🇸
It was pretty amazing. Early MTV, which meant 95% music 5% crap. It’s the opposite nowadays. All the great bands wanted to be part of MTV, which created an incredible music era for kids of my generation. It was special. It’s too bad we really didn’t realize it until recently.
Lots of talk these days about how Robert has aged, and put on so much weight, and lost a lot of his smile. (We know he is still incredible, no need to say it). But when I see this clip, it brings back the happy, grinning Robert that changed peoples lives.
And, WOW! Robert Smith and rest of the band are so young. How do you convince your kids or grandkids that one day (if you make it that far) you'll find yourself in a wrinkled and deteriorating old body when you still feel young and don't know how the time passed so quickly.
So cool of the Cure to let that guy's dream come true.
back when mtv features real music
Im olde enough to remember when MTV actually played Music Videos on TV :P
@@anthonyboerio4955 i just got 20 betamax tapes of old mtv! Stuff nobody has uncovered yet. I got lucky!!
The first thing I though
Back when MTV featured music, period.
This looks like when you're trying to have a super-cool rock band in the garage but your dad dusted off his old guitar and decided to play along, too.
Cmon that was dope
Yep, somebody playing a guitar is slightly out of tune, I suspect it’s probably the old guy, lol.
fuckin nailed it
@@sureimhappy the "old dude" is a year older than Robert
He probably paid for the whole rig anyhows
Robert Smith probably the coolest guy to ever have graced us with his presence
Rubbert

Hello have you heard of David Bowie or Keith Richards
Nah
@@leon15776 good response 👌🏻
That man just had his best day of his life.
Ray Cokes made my 1990's...back when MTV had a soul
I realize it's not their most sophisticated but this is the one I go to for feeling better, never fails.
The Cure,Echo and the Bunnymen and New Order breathed fresh air in the 80's music scene
Thanks guys
Simply Red, Flock Of Seagulls, Roxette, Simple Minds Etc. Along With The Cure MADE THE 8OS EXQUISITE!
The cure to boredom! The more I listen to the music the more I get excited. The Cure amazing talent!
Totalmente de acuerdo contigo, la música es lo mejor ❤❤❤
I've loved this song ever since it was on the radio as a kid.
Jajaja, yo tendría unos 20 cuando salió ? y Just like heaven , cuando tenía 15, fue maravilloso vivir ese momento
Great band.... And our favorite MTV host Ray Cokes! 😀
Everyone's in a good mood ❤
Robert Smith is the punk kid that kid rejected by the punks and so now he’s rebelling against the punks and I fucking love it

Ye were brilliant in 1989 in Dublin still brilliant today
Pretty pimpin' Les Paul Ray has got there. Back when MTV was actually good! Most Wanted was the shit! Ray and Nina and their cans of bis
