Obviously a motorcycle school is great for us riders but it’s a plus to have a friend who’s able to personally help you especially since nobody is going to a motorcycle class every single day. So many things cool about this video. For one, you get to teach someone a new skill you’re passionate about AND you were successful. That battery and starter motor deserve a raise, I can smell burnt windings from here. In fairness she likely did better that I would do in her place. I get anxious really easy, and the brain just stops working altogether. Now you have to get gear and stuff for her too, she seemed into it.
I wish I'd have learnt on a bigger bike back in 1996. My first bike was a power valved TZR125, which made about 30hp, but all the power came in at once at 8-10k, but on a 125 stroker, you have to give it tons of revs to get going, so it's easy to hook into that power band and almost loop the loop. this lady has done exceptionally well, and has my utmost respect. It's a very daunting thing to learn, with a steep learning curve, but the rewards are worth it 🙂

Was in my friends front yard and he had me manipulate the clutch until I felt comfortable and not stalling. Then we went on the road, with him on the back. Brave guy! HAHAHA.

Adobo I been away from your channel for a minute however I was going through all the videos, back when you had the R1 was when I was actively watching. I wanted to know if you’d consider a video of your bike progression and why you chose or got ride of bikes up til now.
Your channel wasn’t populating for a while but I definitely missed it. Tracks days too, if you’ve done those. It’s great to have some of that insider wisdom on bikes outside of what’s marketed and common community bs.
Doing better than me, took my blackbird out last night after not riding for 35 years, maybe I should have gone smaller but I cut out the middle man, it wasn't good to watch. Good effort young lady.
Here in the UK learner riders are restricted to 125cc/11KW bikes, there are three levels of licence and you can't ride on a public road unaccompanied unless you pass at the bare minimum something called a CBT (which is a formal assessment but not quite a test). After that the CBT is only valid for 2 years and there are things you can't do. Also wearing a helmet is compulsory. It's amazing how much more liberal the US seems to be on that kind of thing because where I live everything in this video is completely illegal 🙂
very good you let her start with only clutch that is the best way and to walk the bike you dont need throttle i even let people feel the biting point with the break on i say keep the engine running and dont move and dont use the throttle and after that we start walking like you did but good way to learn like you do see to many saying the learner to strait away do throttle and clutch at the same time and then they wiskey throttle
where gear when learning i had a learning bike with big crash cage on it fell using front break in the corner going 3mph bike landed on my foot had riding boots on had nothing for the low speed falls it helps a lot
maybe explain to her that the clutch is the connection between the rear wheel and the engine yes i know its for the gear box i am a mechanic but just to keep it simple

It depends on the bike you have but yes, most of the time you can let the clutch out fully but very slowly, once the bike gains enough speed you can let it out more. Its always good to use a little throttle while in the friction zone to get the rpm's up. hope this helped!

@@ChiloTarot most schools are amazing but with everything there’s a some bad ones in the bunch and sometimes the schools aren’t the problem the instructors are. I had a bad experience talked to the owner of the school she personally taught me and tested me the experience was day and night and now I can’t wait to go back for an intermediate lesson but this time on my own bike 😁
