Matt,
Thanks for showing us some good ideas for beginner bikes. I'm glad that you're here to help us with bikes, helmets, clothing, etc. Your our guide to be the most awesome👍
To help you with the kick stand:
If you are having trouble hitting the knob with your heel, try using the sole of your boots, like instead of pushing your foot straight down, tilt your foot outwards and sideways, then come in towards the kick stand, and use the sole and friction to “drag” the it down.
My attention span is only 12 seconds and you happened to get straight to the point in that amount of time. Thanks for the great advice, imma go hit up a few sellers.
Anyone else buy a motorcycle already? Then midway watching these videos they remember their bike is outside and a surge of happiness hits you? Yeahhhhh. That’s the stuff.
i can't wait for that to be me

Shit never gets old tbh
Just have to wait 5 more years
For a beginner, small displacement naked bike IMO. Insurance is cheap and you can find them everywhere. I think the Husky 401s are so damn cool for beginner bikes.
Christian is awesome!! He helped me find exactly what I was looking for, which is the CBR650R. Told him I was looking for a comfortable inline 4 600 and that’s what he recommended. Going to buy it from him once I’m ready
Those triumph 400s are manufactured here in India. I rode them last year. They really offer crazy crazy value, specially the scrambler one. And since we are talking about bikes made in India you should also check out Royal Enfield. I know you are not into classic bikes but they make some of the best looking classic bikes and they got rich history, basically older than harley itself. Continental Gt650, shotgun 650 and classic 350 are the once i recommend you to check out. cheers!
I started on an INT 650 and thought it was an AMAZING starter bike, especially if you are taller. Super easy to service on your own too!
Bought a bobber then found Enfield
❤@@chaseleblanc6321
Just bought my first bike, Yamaha r3, a few days ago. Super excited for the snow to melt so I can take the bike out!
Nice
Never know what my first might be, like a sport or just upright naked bike or some cruiser I can grow into. But it helps I feel like having a big cycling or mountainbiking background for that balance and ride position.
I have a supersport 950 S and since dry and new i bought the magnetic oil plug and the magnetic oil filter ring. best 8 euros ever spent. the dealer since then recommends it to everyone new or old motoryccle.
Always kinda mental to me watching all your vids and TikTok’s with state 8 being 25 minutes up the road from me
I am looking for a Speed Triple RS, what issues did you have with the higher displacement Triumphs?
The new cfmoto 450ss is crazy. Rode one the other day and it was impressive.
There is dealerships selling them for $5600 with no fees near me. Full TFT display with built in tracking and maps
@@nathanwarner6577 not to mention, inverted fork, 270 crank, entry level brembos, jesus as much as i want to look at ninja 400/r3 its not even a competition. i am only considering 450ss or a kawasaki eliminator, which costs a few more grand for essentially less
I chose CFmoto and I don’t regret it awesome bike
The cfmoto 450ss brings a lot of value for the money. It should be cheaper than a Ninja 400. If there's a good dealership network near you, I'd recommend taking a look!
So before I buy my first motorcycle what is a rough estimate for motorcycle insurance. I'll be getting something in the 400cc range (Triumph, Eliminator, etc...)
Love your channel
If you don’t mind naked bikes the XJ6 Yamaha is awesome bike, affordable 4 cylinder, lot of videos on it on YT 👍🏼
Been to state 8 a few times. Great guys over there!
Rip Johnny. I know I’m late but respect is never late. Fly high 🕊️✝️
I think keeping in where we talks about his buddy is important to the beginner conversation too.
Love Seeing Fellow Ohio Riders Keep Doing Your Thing!!
Not sure if your gonna see this but if you do what do you use to talk to your mates when riding?
I like 400s for a beginner bike. Sub $6k new. Not a lot of horsepower and cheap to maintain.
Ive been looking for my first bike recently and i got my eyes on sym wolf 250,is it any good?
My first beginner's bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan 800. I owned that bike for about a year and learned how to ride and then I moved to a Triumph 600 TT. I owned that bike for about three years and them moved up to another Triumph 600 Sport Bike. I owned that bile for about two years and got pretty good at riding a sport bike 😎. In 2005 I bought my first Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe because I wanted to cruise and just relax and enjoy the view. I've owned several Harleys and I've become a really good rider. I now own two Harleys, a Vespa, and a new BMW R18B. I'm in the process of buying a 2001 Honda RC51 😎. Be safe and learn as much you can and always be safe 🙏😎.
I started on a Ruckus. 😊 I still love the skooter.
Do you record your audio on cardo new update where you can record through the app
I’m just going through my full access bike tests and I’m looking at the Honda Hornet 500
Most second hand bikes in Britain are just as expensive as brand new bikes
It’s crazy thinking about the fact that this is my home dealer, and u could go there any time
i bought my first bike last year 2023 ninja 400, its fun it goes weee wee woo woo
Great video!
Bro you should do an Ohio meet and greet. I frequent State 8 for parts and stuff.
what do you think about the MT-07 2024?
this is a street fighter V2? Or 4? Beautiful day with it.
Is that forged carbon fiber on your Ducati? Whatever it is it looks so good!
My beginner bike is a monster 796 and it still runs fine❤️🔥..
Still burns my inner thighs!
What riding boots are those?
Columbus area is where I ride my v4s I’ve been out a couple times the last two months when it’s warm. We haven’t had anything down on the streets for awhile for future reference!
Been having a good week huh?
Been riding for Harley for 15 yrs…looking to get my first sport bike
Do you have an opinion on CF moto?
Damn RIP to Jonny. Be careful guys.
What Ducati do you ride?
I wonder if they're good for riding up hills
Bro got gas like 4 times in one video😂😂😂 thats craaazyyy
He went on a road trip that's like 100+ miles and didn't include it in the video because he said it's boring. I tend to agree that Ohio can be boring sometimes.
I want a 2016 Yamaha yzf-r3 for my first bike. Opinions?
looking at a ninja 500 or r3 - random but when i was younger i wasn’t even into bikes but ive always wanted a ducati 999 because they looked so good
What Bluetooth headsets r these?
should i go on facebook marketplace or to a dealership, n should i get a 600cc as a beginner?
I dont understand the theory of buying 5 diffenet bikes before buying a liter bike. How much money is that? To me its ridiculous. Be safe. Dont go places or do stuff your not comfortable doing. Take your time doing the basics. Stay off the highways forawhile. Just down the driveway or up a street and ba k for a week. Then a few blocks. Make sure you actually have your license. Go to a safe place where you cN practice tight turns and start stops. Stay in lower gears. Thats what did with the 765. It took a month or so before i felt safe enough for the highway. Even then it tooka while. I spent 10k.
My thoughts exactly. Get the bike you want, and be responsible and sensible. Practice , practice, practice
It definitely makes more sense to do this with the lower power modes offered on the liter bikes now. You definitely have to be disciplined and trust yourself to put in the work.
Idk why my brain went this direction but when I saw the Titel I thought it was about how you shopped grocery’s and stuff like that on your bike
gonna be taking my msf in 2weeks and im really debating on my first street bike being either a r7 or a zx6r i want the zx6r bc the sound and the speed but i understand the r7 is more beginner friendly but scared ill wanna trade in after 1-2 seasons of riding
NGL- this vid was all over the place, but fun.
Oh shit i just realized I have driven by that place at my old job going uo to Akron for training
My first bike I just bought a couple months ago ago is a 2023 ktm 390 duke
I bought my first motorcycle 3 weeks ago and it was a 2024 ninja 500, pretty good but I bought brand New because I wanna keep it for a while. I dropped it once already but I have it down and have 170 miles on it so not to bad
how do you like it? looking to buy a bike soon and was debating this one, ninja 400, or r3
@@september311 if your needing highway speeds the ninja 500 all the way and I just hit 1000 on my odometer. But if just everyday commuting around town you could probably save some money and go for a 400 or r3, but I started on 500 and I already feel like I could go up to a 600 (rode a couple of my buddies) and you grow quickly enough where you’ll get tired of lower cc’s within probably 3 weeks
Started of 1450 Harley then went right for cbr 600f3
Hi dude, new to the channel, ive been seeing your shorts for a few weeks now and i just subbed today, a quick question is the name of the channel Thought Taken or Though Taken? Love the vids so far trying to familiarise myself with bikes.
i prefer thought taken but u can use whatever you prefer, appreciate u!
@@thoughtakenit's a really good name for a motorbike channel 😁
The Ducati V4s was slower than Dave a 2005 Gixxer 1000cc put to test by Revzilla.
I have the Kawasaki Ninja H2R pretty fun to ride
STATE 8!!! FAV PLAC
V4 is the best liter bike to start on
I wanna get a bike so bad bro I really want one I’ve never rode one before but I seen blue r1 I fell in love I’m at the stage in my life where I wanna go fast
Aye Matt what were your parents reactions to you getting your first bike when you started riding?
you should do beginner gear
Best beginner is definitely something like a grom or Z125 with crash bars. Buy one for $2k, drop it a million times in the parking lot and it doesn’t matter then sell it a season later for $2k and buy a full size bike.
i disagree. groms are too small to teach you about everything there is about riding, you need to be able to control the weight of a full-size bike
I dont know what grom is but yes 100cc class bikes are good for learning about gears, braking and acceleration. But youll outgrow these bikes in a month or two max so yeah its a hassle in that sense.
@@thoughtaken Man I consider that the best bike would probably a 125cc Spanish bike wich many times are easy to drive and are pretty cheap. My favourite would be a MITT GP2.
Postdata:
Im from Spain so my opinion isn't impartial. But I have noticed that in the USA you don't usually talk about: Rieju, Mcarbor, Mitt or GasGas (all spanish brands of motorbikes)
No, too small. A Z400 or similar is great. It’s 350ish pounds full of fluid. Can do 80mph and is cheap to fix. Small bikes are great for low speed technical riding but you don’t learn any highway riding skills on a slow bike.
@darioruiz5326 long story short we don't have those here. Aside from GG I haven't even heard of the others
is that in cuyaoga falls
Want a motorcycle but I’m terrified not gone lie
always be sure to recommend your beginner friend a turbo busa
😂
The new CFMOTO 300ss and 450ss are amazing beginner bikes for what you get. Me and my gf started riding this year and both have those. I opted for the 450 just so I could have more features and power
Would a suzuki 22 gsx s750 would a good one
Nice matt
here in europe the max is 125cc untill 20 and unlimited after 24/28 so what are some good biker under 125cc?
Off topic I rode my friends 125cc after being use to my 1000cc and jehhz they're slowwww full throttle as went nowhere in a car park too.
went for a 2024 Honda cbr650r as beginner bike :)
Ninja 400,ninja 500 , RS457, R3 ,KLX300SM ,MT-03 did I miss anything? Of course I did 😂
what about Yamaha mt 07?
r7 insurance is crazy high in ny
I’m trying to look for a beginner bike that I won’t break my bank on. Like I’ve never rode a motorcycle a day in my life.
Wanting my co workers 04 zx6r $2500 clean stright.
Cheap ! No worries 😅
Vouch the R7😈
Rip Johnny but like what a way to just drop that on someone making a family friendly video
who is johnny?
This in Ohio?? I’ve been look at this state 8 if so. Grew up on ATVs and dirt bikes and ready for the next step

My first was a 2019 triumph street triple rs. 765.

planning on getting a ninja ex500r as my first bike in a month or 2 its mostly upright riding position, lightweight, and doesnt make a lot of power but enough to have fun.
