He did better than most adults do when they're beginning to learn.
I also have to give props to his instructor, because I've met motorcycle instructors who don't break it down how well as he did.

@@JohnnieVIt all depends on what kids you’re teaching to. Not all kids get used to it this quickly or get that confident. I would say kids definitely can learn faster than most adults.

The repetition and explaining what the clutch actually does is soooo helpful. It’s hard to learn when I don’t understand what the actual function is, so I especially loved how you broke it all down and explained it. I can’t wait to actually ride my own bike instead of being a passenger all of the time!

What helped me learn to ride was having an understanding of how a clutch works. Picturing 2 pie pans facing each other with shafts at their centers 1 attached to engine other to drive shaft. Illustrate how pulling clutch lever disconnects the pie plates. Releasing lever reconnects .
Or just watch a video on clutch operation.

She can almost flat foot it.being 5 foot i am going to have to modify anything (in sports or cafe bike) bigger so she can flat foot it, this video will be helpful to many new riders, i have a platform jack that o use to tune the indians that has a cutout for the rear wheel so she can practice the clutch / shifter combo. Good thing8s she has a 4 wheeler that has a clutch and shifter. i hope she will end up with a cruiser like here sisters scout bobber.

Tall... If you teach them the friction zone using the "Heel to toe" method (using the clutch to rock yourself from your heel to your toe, then pushing yourself back to your heels). After they become proficient in this exercise, the next would be duck walking using the friction zone and using the front brake to stop multiple times throughout your test area. After that, next exercise would be bringing feet to pegs after the duck walk. Doing this progression, I feel it will help them get used to the clutch a lot easier, and you can emphasize using the brakes in a smoother fashion. I love your vids... keep 'em comin'. I hope you keep glidin' and have a blessed day!

I enjoyed the video a lot, you're an example of perfect instructor. I'd definitely have much more enthusiasm to learn if my instructor was this clear, patient and attentive. Now I'm scared to touch a bike 🥲

This is probably one of my favorite videos done by you. Brings back fond memories of excitement of first learning. Unfortunately i had to learn on my own. I started on a 1981 or 82 Kawasaki GPZ. I got hooked on moyorcycles when my oldest sister's boyfriend gave me a ride on the back of his beautiful purple Kawasaki. One thing i would tell any new motorcycle rider or anyone contemplating learning is... do not let other people's fear become yours! Riding is not rocket science, anyone can learn.
You had a beautiful December day, clear skies and plenty of sun.
    He did great, good student.
By the way that is a beautiful bike! Love that it has a windshield.
Keep up the great work Tall!

Great video bro, I am a 42 year old man and just bought my first motorcycle. It’s a Harley. I couldn’t really start on anything less or someone else’s bike so I just bought this one. It is night train. Sportsters are too small I believe for me. But even as a grown man, I think, watching you explain it to a kid was best. Because he would probably have to explain it to me like a child too lol. I appreciate it and it was helpful. Great job and thanks. 😊

So glad to see this ..
One day if I have a kid I’d hope he or she would have an interest in riding ..- and if so..
Building a memory like this would be all a guy could ask for

Nice video! For someone who never used a clutch before, I think it's a good idea to crank up the idle enough to take off without stalling. That way they can get used to how the clutch works before cracking the throttle.

I agree. You should be proud of nephew. He did a good job. But you SHOULD be proud of yourself! You did a GREAT job of teaching! You should open your own motorcycle school for young people. Great video!
