I remember when I met Anna at Disneyland in March this year. I told her how this song was a mantra, a way to push me through 2023, without a doubt the hardest year of my life. She told me, “I’m glad you’re here right now; that you’re still here to tell me this.” The willpower in me to not burst into tears at that moment, it was monumental. I still kept it together, but to hear that from that performer, it was therapeutic.
Anna is a very cheerful character so it came as a surprise to hear "The Next Right Thing" play in the movie theater. I was confused at first when listening to the lyrics. But it reminded me that people go through this darkness. She was alone without a sister that helped her through the world. She had to figure out what to do next. All she did after that was struggle to take physical steps and then to break the dam. She showed that she can persevere through losing her family which is Olaf and Elsa. Can't forget Kristoff though. That perseverance to me shows that Anna can be a queen!
Two things: 1. This was the best song from Frozen 2, IMO. It's SO POWERFUL! But since this and "Show Yourself" had spoilers, I can see why Disney didn't campaign for these to win awards. 2. I loved this film, but I wish Disney had made it into a miniseries to give time for the story to be polished a bit more. It was sad that Jennifer Lee had to tone it down, but I respect her not wanting to alienate kids, a big part of Disney's audience.
@@thetroveyoutube Yeah, Kristoff got the short end of the stick. I was glad it explored Anna's codependency, but it made him a side character. Plus seeing more of the Northuldra tribe and their culture as well! Ryder seemed like a cool friend for Kristoff.
I think I'm one of the few people who thinks Frozen 2 was in some ways better than the first one. Yes, it's plot is messy. But it has emotional depth that no other Disney film dates to explore. Not just this song, which explores Greif. But also the fact that it's willing to explore Male emotions in a way we rarely see in "princess" films. Showing Christof to be uncertain, and vulnerable. But still a good person.
Only little criticism I have is: a way out of depression is never as linear so a moment of shipping or a moment of struggle would've elevated this for me even more.
Frozen and Frozen II to me are like Blink 182's Enema of the State and the Untitled Album - Frozen (Enema) is clearly the pop hit, it's (from a structure standpoint) a pretty simple and straightforward story, but it hits so well on the various notes. Frozen II (Untitled) is the movie for people that love the characters - it's not necessarily worse than the first one, but it is markedly different, with it's own aspects to love, and like I said, if you love the characters, it probably hits closer to the chest than the first - it's so different from the first that it makes some people feel a bit uneasy, but it still is a great work hopefully this elongated analogy made sense lol - great vid
This song is truly amazing, and its message has helped me through a very difficult time. My grandma who i was very close with passed away last summer, after a long struggle with dementia. in times like that, the only thing you can do is the next right thing. thinking about the big picture will overwhelm you; you just have to take life one step at a time.
i remember being so excited finding out that anna had a solo song in frozen 2 .. only for it to be the saddest song i've ever heard 😭 i really struggle to listen to this song. i skip it every time it comes up but i think that's just the power of a little too powerful songwriting. so kudos lopezes!
It can definitely be tough listen, but ultimately helpful at its core. Have you heard the outtake song "Home" from the deluxe version of the soundtrack? That's another solo Anna song that's a little easier to hear haha.

You could title the videos "My Granite Medal Disney Films Ranked From Best to Worse" for your fifth placers, "My Iron Medal Disney Films Ranked From Best to Worse" for your fourth placers, and Bronze, Silver, and Gold for your third, second, and first placers.

Yes, what Anna persevered through here really sets her up well to be the new leader of Arendelle
