Disney probably wanted to pay homage to how Cinderella saved the company. That’s why they have her castle as the logo. They’ve struggled a lot. This film is a classic! The amount of money they made from it is astounding! I didn’t even know that any of this happened. Great video as always!
my favorite part is when they're dancing behind the curtain and "so this is love" starts playing, the plot part when she takes her shoe out of her pocket is great too
Cinderella doesn't get as much respect as she deserves and the prince didn't get the development he deserved (which is why I loved him in the 2015 version).
cinderella is such a comforting movie! "a dream is a wish your heart makes" is one of the best songs in disney's discography, it's real magic ✨ and knowing walt's reaction to it now makes me laugh :,)
i've never been too fond of Cinderella, or any of the early movies besides Pinocchio for that matter, but i'll admit i do admire how this movie saved Disney. Without this film, we probs wouldn't have gotten masterpieces like Mulan, Tangled and Lilo & Stitch, so i'm grateful for that even if i don't rewatch this movie very often.
This movie is one of my all time faves! My favourite part isn't even even a specific part, but rather how much emphasis it places on the value of friendship. Cinderella and her animal friends give such a heartwarming depiction of mutual support, and seeking to help the ones you care about just because it's the right thing to do. Also, my god the blue birds are possibly the cutest animated characters of all time - don't you just want to (carefully) hug one?
It may sound weird, but it's so fascinating how their most risky movies, "Cinderella," "Snow White," "The Little Mermaid," and probably more were always the right choice As a kid I was always taught to be careful in every way, in a way I was taught that the risk is never worth the tiny reward, and I feel alot of modern people can relate, but stuff like this really puts into perspective that "high risk, high reward" should not just be about the risk Sometimes we make our best choices when it's life or death, and it's only occurred to me now how "play it safe" suffocates so much of modern society, when beautiful movies like this show that when your heart is screaming for that choice or decision, it's the right thing to do Cinderella was devastated after what her step-sisters and step-mother did to her before the ball, and I feel like anyone nowadays in her position woulf have probably given up all together, sure she had a little help, but Cinderella beyond achieved her goal and never changed, to me she will always be the most inspirational Disney princess
I have watched Cinderella since was a little girl in the 1990s and the late 1990s. I’m a Cinderella biggest fan and I’m also a biggest fan on all Disney princess’s!!!!!!!!😍🥰❤️💕💓💕❤️💓😇😊
I grew up in an abusive situation. Cinderella was my escape. She doesn’t deserve the bad press she has gotten for “being rescued” by a man. The truth is she shined because of her pure heart, her goodness, her gentle nature. Those things are rare and take hard work to protect and cultivate, especially in her situation. The chemistry between her and the prince are palpable and believe it or not people do absolutely fall in love at first sight, and go on to live happily ever after. She has so much strength and perseverance. I would be happy if my child to looked up to her, and proud that my child will never identify with her story in the same way I do.
My favorite disney film ever, it feels great knowing that it’s the film that saved Disney and since has earned people's admiration despite receiving a lot of criticism and hate for its traditional themes, it hurts me when it’s criticized or victim-blamed. As a kid growing up facing intense physical and psychological abuse I related to Cinderella immensely, this film provided me solace not only through its visuals and soundtrack but also through it’s message and themes, that despite the hardships and the people in your life who put you down and hurt you, always be kind, spirited, and most importantly never stop dreaming. Its also the film that thankfully taught me from a young age that I didn’t deserve the mistreatment I was receiving and I wasn’t the one to blame for it, which can be difficult for victims to recognize especially when so young. It’s a great message for those who face hardships and especially abuse, one can only imagine the wonders a film like this does for children in abusive or just challenging circumstances. This was one of the only movies I owned as a kid and I watched it almost everyday lmao it also helped me improve my english a lot as it was the only english movie I had
No worries about the length of the comment. Thank you for sharing your personal connection with Cinderella! It's such a special movie and I'm glad it has brought you comfort.
You did technically tell us that Cinderella saved Disney from what you call ‘package film hell’ in your Disney Silver Age Films Ranked video. Just saying - but you did tell us WAY more about it in this one. I love Cinderella and I’m glad why it’s so important in the 61 films from Walt Disney’s canon. The package films were so bad but I think Melody Time and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad - The Wind in the Willows (not the second half, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow because it is overrated and not as good as Wind in the Willows) are at least decent.
This Was A Great Video And You Are So Right Cinderella Really Saved Disney The 40’s Were Tough For The Studio If Cinderella Wasn’t A Box Office Hit Disney Wouldn’t Exist today and we wouldn’t have timeless Animated movies today like beauty and the beast, The lion king, And the Little Mermaid. And Here we are now 61 films deep and Disney is the One if Not The Best Animated Film Studio of all time. But ngl Dreamworks And Illumination did Destroy Disney and Pixar at the box office in 2023😬. And Happy Belated 73rd Bday Cinder🎉🥳
Of the two live action remakes, Cinderella is the one I like more than the other. *Couldn’t* stand Maleficent, especially *not* with what they did the title character.
There are four things that saved Disney number one Cinderella number two Mickey mouse number three Snow White and number four Pinocchio because of when you wish upon a star
I'll be waiting for your reviews of the new live actions, "Peter Pan and Wendy" and "The Little Mermaid". I personally don't like them. But it would be nice to another person's take.
Snow White and Cinderella were the princesses who saved Walt Disney and the Disney company yet many people criticize them for being passive and weak characters. Shame on them.
yes but there more to the story of Cinderella then you think let say that it was to air in 1949 then in 1950 there was a problem to it it was near the end of the movie that Walt Disney did not like it was when the Grand Duke was about to fit Cinderella with the Glass Slipper but it brake into pieces he then and that Cinderella was crying so he told them to fix this problem and they did,
I just finished watching it a few minutes ago because last time I saw it I was like 12 maybe. It's....a movie. I appreciate the animation, it's great, some songs are nice (so this is love and bobbidy boo especially) but overall... i found it pretty boring actually. It doesn't even last 80 minutes yet I couldn't wait for it to end. I forgot how much time is dedicated to the mice, the first 30 minutes are pretty much a collection of tom and jerry shorts. The actual magic fairy tale princess stuff starts at the middle of the movie and is incredibly rushed, the prince is almost silent and after all that we are back to mice shenanigans in the last 10 minutes. Disney had no clue what to do with Cinderella si he put all his animals shorts in it, artificially making the movie longer, the "key" sequence is unbearable the slapstick has not aged well it was excruciating. I only watched to compare to the 2015 remake which I haven't seen yet but now it can only be better. I much preferred Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio.
@@whitewolf3051 That's if they decide to release it in theaters. They just might shelf it or put it in Disney plus only because they'll end up losing less money that way. Either way, both the actresses playing The Little Mermaid and Snow White were the worst possible ones to play those characters. They are completely the opposite of what the Character is suppose to be.
@@JohnSmith-nj4zq One, Disney isn't going to delay what they think is a profitable project despite all the controversy indefinitely. Two, I agree *neither* of the current actresses doing the live action remake fit their roles. The only good live action remake with an equally good actress was 2015 Cinderella.
Hey, Todd. I watched your video where you ranked the Disney live-action movies and I have to confess: I thought you were too picky. But then you mentioned “Lady and the Tramp” and well…I changed my mind. But I want to ask you something: are you happy? Truly? Are you anxious? Are you satisfied? No one is truly happy without Jesus. No one is truly satisfied or at peace without Him. One day you’re going to stand before God. And if your sins were not paid through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection- you’re going to hell. You may scoff this thought away, but, I beseech you, don’t go down that path. “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?”(Mark 8:36) Only Jesus can wipe away your sins and save your soul. Without Him, you’re a hopeless being. Dear friend, repent of your sins and turn to Him. “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”(Matthew 11:28)

Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!

So This is Love is the best 😍

Walt was so blunt sometimes haha. Thank you for watching!!
Cinderella is such an iconic film ♥️ it really did save Disney animation
It’s true the music from this movie is amazing. My husband and I chose “So this is love” as our first dance song at our wedding.
That’s an amazing choice, must’ve felt so magical!

"So This Is Love" heightened my standards to the next level 😫
I turn into a puddle every time I hear it 💘

Yeah this video just goes into much more detail about how Cinderella saved Disney in its entirety. Thanks so much for watching!
cinderella is an alright saw it on disney plus but I prefer snow white and the seven dwarfs
A 4K of Cinderella is being released this month!
Hi. Just a little correction: the castle on the Disney logo is the Sleeping Beauty castle, not Cinderella’s.

Cinderella save Disney twice in Animation and Live Action.
Of the two live action remakes, Cinderella is the one I like more than the other.

No wonder the Disney Princesses are the most popular characters. It was always a Princess movie that saved Disney from financial ruin

Yeah I know what you mean it’s sorta why the Disney company kept going it’s sorta why Disney world came to be

Your next video should be "How the Little Mermaid killed Disney".
That would actually be the up coming live action of Snow White.
