The soonest a technician could get out to fix my washer was 2 weeks after Thanksgiving. Decided to give it a try, Couldn't have done this fix without this video. Hardest part is getting the boot back on. Thank you!
This is the Best video to watch to help get anyone through this process! One tip, have 3-4 flathead screwdrivers to help put the wire/spring boot back together! Then it's super easy!
Agree with other comments - not a chance I could have done this repair without your step-by-step tutorial. I've never attempted appliance repair before but I was able to do it after watching your video! Thank you so much! The mounting of the drain pump in my washer was slightly different, but thanks to your explanation of the parts and connections as you were working I was able to figure it out. The only trouble I ran into was trying get the door boot strap back on by hand the way you showed, so I fashioned a spring expander from a reversible ratchet clamp and some nylon string (courtesy of another appliance repair website), but I'm ordering one of those tools right now to have for the future. Much appreciated!
To anyone about to do this simple repair, if you have the space to safely tilt your machine, I highly recommend doing this repair from underneath. It might require a 2nd person and sufficient space, but it is so much less work. The bottom of the washer is wide open so you can reach in to access the pump without disassembling the top, front, or remove the tub seal. You have better access to get pliers on the hose clamps and you will also have the opportunity to take off and clean out the black rubber drain pipe that gets clogged with gunk.
I just tilted the whole washer on the side. Only hard part was cutting sheet metal by pump to remove bolt. An cut plastic at the bottom to access bolt. Took me 30 minutes to remove and install new pump
Excellent tutorial for a novice like me. It enabled me to fix our machine and avoid having a repair person come into the house during this pandemic. We're a happy household! Thanks so much!
This video is stupid beyond belief! Just pull the washer out a few feet and tilt it back towards the wall. You can access the pump through the bottom of the machine without taking the whole dang thing apart! This video is like changing a light bulb by accessing the fixture through the roof of your house! LOL!
wow, i have been looking for a video like this where the front panel is one unit that has to be removed. you made this daunting nightmare so easy to understand and accomplish. thank you for the details. Not that complicated except the round wire door thing, several tries and frustrating. Manufacturers need to make a better design for that.
This is great video. I had to replace 2 parts to washer that I had bought used less than a year ago. I was able to fix it for less that $75. I've never put together anything more complicated than a grill. This was way easier thanks to this video.

Great job. I just did it. Probably isn’t too big of a deal, but I did also transfer over the drain pump motor cover (white) from the old part. Also a good tip for people with this issue, is to check all the drain hoses for build up. Mine were gunked up with soap buildup, etc. Flushing the drain hose will prevent strain on the new unit.
I just did mine based on your video... just a tip, is not necessary to remove the top and front door covers... I did mine working from the bottom when the washer is reclined on the wall.
@@silvermanarmywife hello, I don't have anymore the washer. I just remembered it was the LG tromm... if you recline the washer to the back and have the enough space to work on it from the bottom, you'll see the drain pump. (You may need a flash light)
@@silvermanarmywife most LG front loads can have the pump removed from the bottom. Takes like 20 min. Simple. Not sure why this guy is telling everyone to rip the whole washing machine apart. You can even see the access from the bottom in this video.

In hot Arizona Weather my drain hose became brittle and started to leak. I was baffled how to get at that clamp from the backside. Duh. You have to do it like you show here. Thank you for the video.
Great vid however you might want to warn the DIY people that when you pull off the wiring for the door switch when you reach in wear gloves and ling sleeve shirt bc the the metal is razor sharp Ouch got a couple nasty cuts but im OK Thanks again and be careful seriously SHARP METAL!!!!!!
Yeah, I was wondering that, too. I guess that cover really doesn't do anything because if your washing machine starts leaking water to that area, you'll have much bigger problems but just a failed pump motor. If anything, that cover could cause the pump to overheat easier because it cannot dissipate the heat because of the cover.
Thanks for this wonderful video. I like to add something else I have the same washing machine when i was tiling the bathroom I removed the drain connection from the sink at this time one little pieces fall from this stoplock system and I didn't noticed .So when I connected washing machine back I was sure all ok so afew days after machine wasn't working properly, stopping just before drain and error code was displays Than a few time same thing happen .I watch youtube decided my pump is need to replace then I order one pump but I remember something.. Nice video. I used it to change my lg washer pump. Mine wasn't showing a code but my wife said the machine wasn't fully pumping the water out and she said i should change the pump like I did in the old one. Not sure if it was needed but did the job anyways. I have water running on the floor in the area of the pump (under the rain cleanout). when it is filling - after I start the machine. I checked the cleanout and found a corroded dime. What does this suggest to you is the problem?
My LG washer has the same OE error. I took mine apart, drain pump was testing 14 on the multimeter so it was still good.(I think at least) I took the propeller out of the pump itself and it was filled with dirty black gunk. Besides that, I can't tell or figure out why I can't get it to drain and not get the OE error. I do know whenever it does drain, it smells awful like sulfur. Not sure what to do. I took the hose that drains into the pipe out of the house off and tried to clean that out too, still getting the OE error. Is my pump the only option that would make it not drain then? No kinks in hose, it's clean & the filter at the bottom is clean.
