Well that’s a different approach! I’m guessing with project ocean and the tunnel that it brings they’re probably gonna split galactica out of forbidden valley into its own area. But who knows. Clearly nothing happened this closed season. Will be interesting to see if anything changes next year 😀
I want Galactica to get a rename and slight retheme. Jet wash the ride new sign of A.I.R (Aerial Investigation Reconnaissance) with Phalanx theming. Stickers on the station with security cameras, barbed wire etc The station crew wearing Phalanx gear The lift is you observing the beast the rest of the layout is either 1. You tryna escape the beast. Or 2. A joyride in a Phalanx aerial vehicle

Maybe the story could be the Phalanx have seized control of Galactica Space Tours and repurposed the launch bay and space ships for on planet missions. Maybe the portal can get some Nemesis vines around it and have it "broken" with the the lights blinking, have the roars of Nemesis as you traverse the layout making it feel like an escape or something
They ( Or any park/Attraction ) should never run an attraction into the ground or let it get to a bad state before they do something. attractions require round the clock planning and maintaining to be a high standard. weather you visit on its 1st year or its last it should still look and feel the same as people are still paying for what should be a good standard as a minimum. It's bad Business to brag about how much people spend to stay but offer an attraction that's tired or simply broken, Things have to change... the UK Theme parks are rapidly falling way behind the rest of the world now in terms on Quality for money.
Alton towers have announced some rides get a jetwash I feel like Galactica probably will be like what happened from Air turning to Galactica where it opens abit late so it can be rethemed but I feel like that would be around summer or something since they are currently trying to fix every ride at the moment
Always have a soft spot for 'Air' as it was the ride i worked on during my 2 years as a ride host at the park. Always thought its the wrong theme for the park. There is literally no where in the park this would work, even less so in forbidden valley. Better they just re theme the crafts as jets and have it as another phalanx operated attraction. Would hate too see it go completely though! Not the most thrills but a great ride non the less.
I did Galactica with VR and agree it was terrible. In contrast I’ve also done Crazy Bats at Phantasialand and that was awesome. I just don’t think it was done too well at Towers
I'm not a super frequent flyer, it was a few years before I went on Air for the first time and I loved it, it's my favourite rollercoaster. So smooth and euphoric compared to nearly dislocating a hip on Wicker Man, for example. I never rode it with the VR, but I went just after lockdown when they said they weren't using the VR headsets due to concerns about transmitting COVID. That was fine by me, I like to see where I'm going. I will say Galactica has by far my favourite soundtrack, I listen to its theme music on a loop sometimes while working, I think it still sounds fresh so I'd be sad to lose the music, but a decent deep clean, repaint and re-theme would be cool. (I've never really liked 'Forbidden Valley' as a name for an area, it feels more like dinosaurs than aliens, but Nemesis and Air/Galactica are great rides so would be great if they tie it all together under a shiny new sign.)
I would re-theme Galactica to a Phalanx coaster. Where the roller coaster is like a warship that you would board to attack the Nemesis monster. I would rename it either "Flight of the Phalanx", "Phalanx: The Revenge" or "The Phalanx Fighters"
one of my fav rides in park and also one of few lighter themed rides (not about horror etc) id like galactica have either a good v evil route or just have a new area for glactica likes pinball whizzer, smaller area just for coaster

Zero point removing a b&m coaster which has years left in it unless they plan on reusing the area, which they don't, as Horizon is in coaster corner. Minor retheme and refresh coming end of 2024 season in my opinion, also, I hate the clickbait title.
What if the story of Galactica’s re-theme is that with Nemesis taking over Forbidden Valley, Galactica is the Phalanx’s escape plan to abandon Nemesis

Galactica will get a refurbishment. It’s just that they spent so much money this season, doubt they will do huge TLC on it for now.
