@@MattRodriguez In the menu settings on page 4 the USB Connection setting is greyed out and I can't change the setting. It's currenty locked on "Mass Storage" any idea how to bypass this?
Once I get to adding the camera to the OBS it never shows up, Even though its working completely perfect in the remote viewer app...Zoom is not picking up the camera either...Any suggestions on how to fix

Wondering if anyone out there can help here with this issue ~ I've installed the Sony Imaging App Software and it recognizes my Alpha3, also have OBS installed >but< it doesn't recognize my camera as a cam source. Directly connecting into the iMac with a Micro USB to USC from the camera. In the camera setting under USB Connection/PC Remote it is greyed out and saying its not available (?) What is going on? Thanks (My understanding is that I should not need a CAMlink (?) P.S. I shut the camera off, went back to briefcase and it showed the USB Connection available, clicked and it shows PC Remote is ON >but< OBS still doesn't recognize the A3 as a cam (?)

So I got a Logitech Brio, which was a bit disappointing due to image noise. I'm looking to repurpose the III as a webcam using OBS. My question is whether to use the USB/IERemote or HDMI output to my computer/OBS for best image quality. Does anyone have experience with these two approaches? Please advise with Reply. Thanks!
A few months after releasing this video, Sony added the stream feature natively to their cameras via ImagingEdge via usb-c. I now use HDMI via a El Gato Camlink

Imaging Edge doesn't show up after being installed/restarted. So, everything after that is pointless. Camera is connected, showing "PC Connected via USB", but when I open OBS it disconnects. Sucks.

is there any way to get the camera to not look so laggy ?? I mean the quality is amazing but even my 10 year old logitech 720p webcam has a better motion than my a7 iii

I can't get mine to change from mass storage to PC remote. It gives me a message saying Ctrl w/Smartphone
Go to network one (globe symbol) -> Carl w/ smart phone -> off , that’s it

A7iii has a recording limit of 30 minutes, you can't do anything about it.
When streaming you aren’t “recording” on the camera. The image is passing through to OBS where you will be recording on your PC.

I would suggest a dummy battery to prevent the camera from over heating
That lens was fire that 50 mm was on a Sony as well that gave you that blurry background

There’s a new update for this method using the image edge app. You may have to update it.

That’s because you put the video quality in the camera too high. Put it in 1080p and it won’t lag anymore

No heating issue at all. Streamed for almost 3 hours a few days ago and had no issues. It’s not too taxing on the camera.

Yea if you want that full quality you’ll have to invest in a capture card like the El Gato Camlink
