    Know I’m a bit late to this but the main difference for me was the price of batteries. A Milwaukee 5ah battery is $150 at home depot and the Bauer 5ah batteries are only $60. For that price, I can get a battery, tool, and extended warranties all for the price of a single Milwaukee battery

    Herculees new brushless tools have a 5 year warranty, and something to always consider with the Bauer is that you can add the 2 year warranty for 12 dollars on that specific driver, and have 2 years to walk into the store and trade it in for anything for any reason, at any time. That's something I learned early on with HF, and thats something that no one else offers on tools.

      I just walked in to Home Depot, with my Milwaukee surge that had nothing wrong with it, besides cosmetic flaws from being dropped, drywall mud on it, oil stains, walked into Home Depot with it came out with a new one no questions asked not my name address or reason, month later walked in with my 3/8 Mid Torque Impact wrench same thing I only used it once my self. My dad had been beating the crap out of it. and since I like my tools to look nice and clean I went in with the impact came out with a new one no questions asked. Week later went and took my gen 4 impact driver and same thing no questions asked. Now I have all three of those that have been getting beat on these past two years brand new sitting on my shelf. Now once I finish with my house and have used and abused my oscillating tool drywall gun and drywall rotating tool I will do the same 😂😂😂

    In regards to seeing when the lag is fully driven; I just watched Project Farm's most recent video and it looks like he's using a washer and stopping the time when that is pressed into the wood. Only key is making sure the washer shows when driving it but it seems like a really good way to handle it.

    These impacts drivers are great for the price. The rubber on these is a very soft compound though and comes off very easily. They get ugly fast but I haven’t killed it yet. It was the same with their original brushed impact driver, the rubber all came off, I left it in the rain all night twice, dropped it and generally abused it and it never quit working. The original brushed drill was junk though

I was just going to say what you said at the end… in my words I would say; sure the brushless impact and drill from Bauer might cost you roughly what the impact and drill might cost you from the name brands, but getting tools beyond the drill and impact driver, there is huge savings for marginal performance with Bauer. And to finish it off, I’ll say what I’ve always said… if you’re a pro, buy pro tools, if you’re not, then consider all the options and buy what makes sense for your budget.

    what up Philly fix!... I believe it a great value for the money...look at it this way, you buy a Milwaukee tool only bushed impact driver and its 100$ "and I am just ball parking" and that depends on which sub-model. same for DeWalt, Makita and whom ever else we consider better! and of course the warranty is good (3-5yrs some even lifetime! I say that term losly😂) we see harbor freight power tools (a brushed impact driver kit is only 54$ to date) 90days return warranty no matter what the hell happened and (IF YOU PAY ANOTHER ballpark amount say 10$ extra...AN ADDITIONAL 2YRS IS ADD...) to the tool, what's never mentioned is that it's the same return warranty at any harbor freight no matter the condition of the tool they will swap it....but there competitors may not and you will have to send it away for 2-3 weeks and they might not want to honor it because of some stupid rule....don't know about you but I love going to a store with a return and they do the return or exchange right there without a fuss...sorry but harbor freight is doing it right and I hope they never change... matter fact if anything give a 3yrs exchange option😅 that would be great

    Nice to see some good performance! I am curious, what would you recommend for driving those big lags if not an impact driver?

    • @PhillyFixed
      @PhillyFixed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely an impact wrench with a 3/8" or 1/2" anvil. Anything longer than a 4" like that, probably a mid-torque like the Milwaukee 2962, DeWalt DCF894 or Makita XWT17 / XWT18.

      impact wrench does much better on big lags than anything

    • @JAKEaudio2
      @JAKEaudio2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually, there are test available on TH-cam that show 20v DRILLS do a much better job than impacts most likely because they use continuous drive vs impacting, which means inertia works in your favor, once the lag is moving it KEEPS moving vs with an impact you are literally starting AND STOPPING the lag's movement constantly. I would have thought(and have used impacts for lags myself) that impacts would be hands down the choice but the vids ive seen show drills not only beat impacts but beat them BADLY.

      I would not recommend an impact driver for lug nuts. You want an impact wrench, like the Bauer 2085CR-BR (item #58637).

    Would you recommend it over the ryobi brushless?

    • @PhillyFixed
      @PhillyFixed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question. It's hard to recommend the Bauer over Ryobi just because of Ryobi's expansive tool line on their battery platform. But, HF is rapidly expanding Bauer.

    • @hillustration
      @hillustration 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@PhillyFixed I have both. The Bauer is stronger. I have a bunch of ryobi stuff, and I like them but my Ryobi impact is not as strong as my Bauer. I think Harbor Freight gets a bad rap a lot. I think the review was fair, and I appreciate the point about the warranty. But I've taken things back and they replace things without any hassle. When I've tried to return Ryobi and Rigid stuff to Home Depot, I have to send it back or take it to a service center. And if you watch for deals, you can usually add the warranty on at about the original price of the tool. My Bauer stuff so far is holding up well and the performance is good. And I have a Hercules sliding Mitre saw that's excellent. May not be professional grade, but it isn't supposed to be, and it's worked really well for me and saved me a lot of money.

    Why do you tool comparison guys never mention Harbor Freight's in house extended warranty? I have Bauer and Milwaukee tools and guess who's warranty is faster. Yes I understand I have to pay for Harbor Freight's warranty but I don't have to send them in. Milwaukee's warranty is great but FedEx is questionable.

    • @PhillyFixed
      @PhillyFixed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once you buy a 3-year warranty on a HF tool, you're getting into price territory where you could just get a better brand. I agree that the walk-in warranty exchange is handy at HF, though. I've done it with hand tools several times.

    • @cartman0223
      @cartman0223 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PhillyFixed I wish Harbor freight would offer a 3 yr warranty. And where do you warranty the better brand? How fast do you get the tool back you use to make money to buy more tools?
