So I want to switch to this but idk when I should.. like I have all the gear and a decently rolled winterglass (.3) but it feels like my CDR and Crit my sheet says 43% but that’s without the proc from ESU and I think when I dodge I would jump to maybe 56% and not the 90% the build suggests. Also my armor gets worse and much lower than my fireball build. Do you need to have like MW 12 on all pieces before changing and ideal rolls on the MW stats like always getting crit on a piece or 4/4 MW on CDR. Also don’t have many GAs on ANY of my items are they necessity too?
Rax giving us a Uber Lilith guide at the end reminded me of a Bob Ross painting tutorial... IDK if it was the way he was talking or how relaxed he was during the fight LOL
@@user-rh1hm6gn3jno, it was Uber Lilith. You can tell because it says Echo of Lilith at the end when she dies. Unlike other tormented bosses who are level 200, Uber Lilith is level 100.
To your point about not switching until late. I would say you can switch pretty much the moment you get a winterglass. I was pretty fresh into WT4 and got a lucky winterglass drop (it's like level 838 or something) swapped to the lightning spear build on maxroll and immediately started steamrolling. After that I just worked on getting my crit damage up and nothing has slowed me down yet (until I arrogantly tried jumping into an 85 pit at level 88, not sure why my pit levels didn't reset from last season). With the winterglass you just need that conjuration cd at 0.3.
I just got the Winterglass drop today but currently playing Chain Lightning do you think Lightning Spear is the better choice? So far I've been flying through content on CL so just looking for more opinions.
I did the same thing, in my early 70s I tripped over a Winterglass and switched over. I also had a low level Esu's Heirloom and Godslayer Crown. Not sure about people concerning mana issues. I have 4 mana per second on my Chest. Just cast one or two frozen orbs all you need becuase lightning spear seems to be main thing.
Northwar also has a Frozen Orb Endgame guide, but he notes that you can spec into at level 1. This build transitions very easily into the Lightning Spear build, doesn't need uniques, and levels quickly.
Tuned in randomly since i need a game to play. So far loving what they have done i havent played since s1. Really enjoyed your Reckful talk about rank 1. I grew up on his pvp videos.
As someone who tried this build last night with everything but Fractured Winterglass, don't bother until you have it. Use another build you can run T45+ NDs and/or enough exquisite blood to farm Zir for a while. It's PAINFUL without it. I tried like 10 runs against Zir last night, farmed helltides for a couple hours and ran a handful of infernal hordes with no luck before I was so done that I swapped back to Fireball. Even with stacking CDR on everything I could, I couldn't cast lightning spear enough to make the build the least bit fun. Definitely see the potential though Edit: Of course as soon as I swapped back to Fireball, the very first ND dropped Fractured Winterglass, so I switched back. It's pretty awesome. Recommend
Does this work without ubers??I haven't tried farming So I have no ubers but I have everything else, currently running chain lighting, but not liking the single target dmg
@@merpmerp6969 nah, the only real NEED is Fractured Winterglass. I even have a mediocre roll and it still wrecks shop. You just need to stack as much cool down reduction as possible on everything else
Picked up a broken glass at level 50 and immediately started running this build. Already had Esu's from reputation and that's all I needed. My gear is all relativley terrible but I am leveling quick with this even at a low .2 cd on the amulet. I do get stuck sometimes with nothing to cast but usually only lasts a second or two. It will just keep getting better from here 🎉 I'm glad they gave sorcs a lot to do and experiment with this season.
Having these super gear dependent builds is something I needed to keep me motivated. Pushing for gear that is only small increments in % kills my motivation but knowing I could maybe get a piece for some super endgame build really keeps me engaged for longer
I’m running Chain Lightning with 4/12 MW and clearing T5 infernal horde with some difficulty. I’m going to switch to lightning spear today. Thanks Raxx!
One change I'd recommend is using legendary legs instead of tibaults will. The only good thing from tibaults is getting 20% dmg for 5 sec when you teleport. You can get much more out of legs with the Ulti CDR aspect, meaning more lightning spear uptime
Thanks raxx for the great guide! Started sorc with chain lightning was not an issue to get to around 77 with it, then switched to frozen orb with lightning spear and it’s destroying. Axial conduit needs the amount of mana it’s consuming nerfed!
i really appreciate your explanation. I attempted this build without good gear and thought someone was F'ing with me.cause it was trash. Northwar's guide was perfect. Thanks
In season 2 obviously there was no frozen winterglass but I came up with a build right on this path. Controlling anywhere between 12-13 conjugations at a time and I named it pet sorc or by its better term carpal tunnel syndrome. Because to get the optimal damage throughput I had to just hit all the buttons and with flickerstep introduces it was what I was abusing. You can fit the ice blades into the build! I cut ice armor for it and with inclusion of the frozen orb you will get 6-7 more conjurgations
The casual ease you killed Lilith with is just mindblowing. Yes, your build might be god tier but having zero damage during the fight is the sign of a true master. You are amazing @Raxxenterax
I've enjoyed leveing with chain lightening: axial conduit and volatile blood drops for overpowering. it prox once per 20 sec i think but because the same chain lightening cast continues to damage until you run out of mana it will prox 1 time and you can just run through most dungeons hitting the volatile blood and watching everything go boom. very satisfying.
You can definitely play this build earlier than you think. I’m not trying to be a contrarian because I love Rax. You just need FW unique, Esu Unique, 10 mana per second, and some defensives. But I was farming pit 30s last night (2-3 mins) as a level 75 (build was online at level 60).
IMO don't play it with an 0.1 winterglass. I finally got one after eons of grinding and it was 0.1 and I switched and it's just too slow. Bouncyballs was better.
I can concur - did the flamewall/hyrdra leveling to 100, very easy (ended up with 8 headed hydra's - pretty fun). Switched to fireball with gloves and staff, bump in dps, one button screen clearing of regular content and up. Now on 31 kills of Zir, no Winterglass yet - frustrating but will keep farming mats. This looks very fun. May start some alts to get more blood/mats and the spark at end of season journey. Fun season. Thanks for the great vids with clear and concise explanations, much appreciated.
Just switched to this. Fireball, firewall, meteor with a couple uniques was great for leveling but it starts to fall off at 70 and now I'm back to cruising/crushing again. Thanks.
Changed from chain lightning after having the uniques and this build destroys content. Thank you! Cannot find +mana gear though with the right affixes which makes things a bit slower but will get it eventually, hopefully. Thanks!
I've always been a fan of lighting spear in my builds. Lucky hit seems to proc way more often than with the other 2 conjurations. Worked great with the frost nova enchantment. Def gonna use it in S5 now
My first 925 unique this season was a Fractured Winterglass with a greater affix on the conjuration cooldown. Might have to switch to this build at some point.
I kick this build off with really nothing but a GA Winterglass (conj cdr, .4s) and a bunch of random stuff I had from chain lightning. It absolutely slaps, feels WAY better overall. Concur that it's probably the recommended build this season.
Much respect you put out the video u said you would last night5 at like 5am. i know u had to be tired but thank you for the video. grinding to 100 and hoping to play with u at some point. What you were doing last night helping your viewers was awesome. This veteran salutes u
Come for the lightning spear guide, stay for actually learning how to solo Uber Lilith. Did it with ease for the first time after watching this. Thanks!
I have Ubers for my fractured winterglass build of season 4 which was centered on vuln dmg, cooldown reduc and ice blades. Even without the Ubers, this focus on Lightning Spear and Crit dmg is far more powerful.
as always...super comprehensive! best tips, but I'll give a joker...the shoes, the crit chance!?! also one of the most important things for most SD based builds!!!
I got Axial Conduit at level 23 and instantly went chain lightning, the mana management wasn't all that bad when the tradeoff is a screen full of dead mobs. It's amazing fun. I switched to the lightning spear build at 50 on an alt as I had a fractured winterglass waiting for me in the stash, and from 65 to 85 it was PAINFUL AS FCK!!!. The pace of leveling was awful, but once I reached 80 about 5 hours later and put on the winterglass it was instantly amazing once I switched builds and stuck on the unique legs and boots and ring. I was able to stomp the rest of the way to 100 nuking down events in NM dungeons, sometimes reaching 28 waves in enclosed spaces.
Are you saying that you had to be lvl 80 to equip the winterglass? I just got a .3 cdr WG at lvl 59 and trying to figure out whether I can feasibly switch now...
I went 1-100 with firewall, then switched to chain lightning, leveled up glyphs and pushed T4 Infernal Hordes (level 140 mobs), farmed out some half-decent gear and finally switched into this, lol. What a seasonal journey.
there are so many different build on this, still don't know how to combine them to get the best balance, Raiment of the Infinite gets higher damage, but sometimes you just die instantly in T8, the ring only northwar use two legendery ring, the rest are Tal Rasha's Iridescent Loop, Tibault's Will is most chosen but still some went for lengendary for cooldown or damage reduction, and the two handed or focus, I really hope there is a video to compare all these factors because the paragon board are skill are almost the same, the gear choice is different, even the masterworking is different, for casual players it's a little confusing to where to invest at this point.
Saw this video, farmed the amulet and the pants on first try, loaded it all up and... sure, I was as powerful as before (Fireball) but not much better. Then I realised I had forgotten to change aspects on my legendaries. Now I'm flying!
Got my lightening spear crits up to 30-36m today. Haven't even got x2 master work to hit on some pieces of gear yet. This build is awesome fun to play coming from a S4 bash barb. Really, really enjoying it so far.
The spears can't be spammed without the 50% cdr from shako, plus a high roll of the cdr reduction on the winterglass. But, you can still throw them out like 1 every 5 seconds. I have an andariels visage and a starless skies. I can at least spam frozen orbs, or rather i can't cast enough of them to drain all of my mana because of the starless skies. I put the frozen orb aspect on the focus and put on a 1 handed sword. Everything dies instantly and i don't even have tyrael's might, but i can't spam lightning spears twice or 3 times a second, need shako's huge cdr for that.
I’m a brand new D4 player and I started working on this build because you and others said it was powerful. However you said it was not good for leveling. I’m still playing through the campaign- is there a best build for leveling my sorcerer? Any comments or links to guides are very much appreciated. The game is crazy deep to me as a novice.
Firewall is simple and easy for leveling, chain lightning and fireball are great later on once you find some of the relevant items to buff those skills. Maxroll.gg build guides section just hit that up and sort by sorcerer, can also check out the tier lists to see where different sorcerer builds rank amongst each other
Hi Rax, always enjoy your videos. thanks for posting. I have two questions regarding the build: 1.does the build benefit from the searing heat legendary node? I assume splintering is direct damage and 60x is huge.. 2.do we know how splintering's dmg is scaled by crit damage? Is there any consideration to use the invocation glyph since it gives you conjuraion skill crit damage? Thank you.
In build guide aren't ubers, but in the begginning of this video we can see a Shako an Tyrael's in your build. I have both, can I use them, but how i keep the Tibault's bonus? cause there's no place to the Ice armor unstoppable benefit. Did you use Temerity instead?
First off, Raxx you are a literal god, thank you for these guides!!! Secondly, I am following this guide but I'm stuck a bit now and I don't think this part is explained in the progression. I was lucky enough to find a winterglass with 0.3cdr, have tal rasha and tibault. I have most of the temperings correct, and am sitting on 32.5 crit and 1172 crit damage. I can clear T6 Hordes, I tried Tormented Varshan and while I held my ground, I did not have nearly enough damage to kill him before the debuff stacks too high and I get one shotted. I'm not sure what I'm missing or when would one be able to start killing tormented bosses? Should I focus on masterworking up until like 8 or am I just missing something else? Cheers guys
i recommend if [Staff of Lam Esen] dropped while leveling use it and use charged bolts instead of fire shield and it is going to feel like the end game build but with less protection
Raxx thanks for this guide (and huge thanks to Northwar)... I have FAR from ideal gear, but I switched from chain lightning anyway.... I already know it was worth it, CL was huge dissapointment, mainly beacuse absolutely horrible boss damage, no way to defeat Lilith or tormented bosses with that build, perahps with fully upgraded/optimized build IDK..... LS is already much better in everything. Finally enjoying season 5, so far it was pain with this axial conduit chain lightning BS...
I feel like fireball can be competitive if you have Starless Skies and maybe Shako for the raw fireball skill ranks and cdr. This build works out of the box better and faster though and even without ubers, will def carry you through the early parts of endgame with little investment. Will push fireball as far as i can and if it cant, ill switch back to LS.
I started this build Yesterday. Duriel gave me a Tyraels Might and i crafted my Shako. Somehow i don't have a winterglass after 10 runs lol. Btw im running through NM 70s like nothing with not even close to a perfect build
Only had fractured winterglass for uniques and swapped to this build from firewall at lev 70 and already so much stronger so you dont really have to wait too long to make the build and have it work well
I do have a question. I obliterate hordes, did not try 8, tried like 4 and 5 and its a snooze fest. But if i try any tormented version of any boss, even Varshan, I do very little damage. I see crits like 400k. I have close to 100% crit chance for lightnings and over 1200% crit damage. Any non tormented boss get removed in 1 second. But not tormented one. I spend about 10 minutes on Varshan and got him to like 60% then my hands started to hurt :)
I was struggling with chain lightning mana cost and bosses. Switched to Lightning Spear, started to absolutely erase everything, tormented bosses and Lilith alike.
Great build Rax, Can You tell me how damage increase work on splintering aspect? Its like 50% cricital damage, its clear 50% cricital damage + 50% more damage ?
Literally got frozen winterglass at lvl 100 by forcing drops at Zir. Played with mana enchants on jewelery, combined with Esu’s Heirloom and Tibault’s Will which i was lucky to get very early on until 100, no problem.
Any ideas if the chain lightning andariel can compete with this ? I'm loving the axial conduit gameplay, already got starless skies but still looking for andariel
I got a winterglass from finishing one of the seasonal quests and immediately swapped and zipped my way to 100 so quickly. Now doing 5/6 hordes easily and I have very shit cdr still
It’s still op and the nerf wasn’t major it was more to reduce the overloading of numbers. I just swapped my sorc to lightning spear and have no issues farming t7 (haven’t tried t8 yet) and basically kill any Uber boss in 1-2 seconds. My gear is okay nothing amazing farmed it all myself and don’t have all the recommended correct stats (however I’m not too far off them)
I was running around at 60% resist and still able to clean t7 hordes without dying. Just had to be careful about managing my defensives and have one rolling when the other is on cd
Ironically ’ve been trying to farm fireball pieces my entire Sorc season and have been frustrated doing so . yet I’ve gotten literally the perfect FW Amy ,Tal ring and staff for this build lol
Josh is using Ice Blades for CD and literally spamming that Ice Spear and Unstable Currents instantly. Lots of button pressing there. Maybe it's an easier build to get started without good gear. I haven't tried Ice Spear yet myself.

Raiment of the Infinite gets higher damage, but sometimes you just die instantly in T8,

Maxroll.gg build guides section just hit that up and sort by sorcerer, can also check out the tier lists to see where different sorcerer builds rank amongst each other
This is Mekuna's build, nice. Mekuna always gets the best sorc builds.
yea but apparently northwar did it 1st ig lmao huh?
They actually talk sorc theory crafting together
I love this build it is so much fun, I just blitzed a 103 solo without all my glyphs maxed. My favourite by far
I've been playing a lightening/fire/ice sorceress and I'm having so much fun with her. I'm level 65 now.
Hi Rax, always enjoy your videos. thanks for posting.
I have two questions regarding the build:
1.does the build benefit from the searing heat legendary node? I assume splintering is direct damage and 60x is huge..
2.do we know how splintering's dmg is scaled by crit damage? Is there any consideration to use the invocation glyph since it gives you conjuraion skill crit damage?
Thank you.
Northwar is definitely a king!
In build guide aren't ubers, but in the begginning of this video we can see a Shako an Tyrael's in your build.
I have both, can I use them, but how i keep the Tibault's bonus? cause there's no place to the Ice armor unstoppable benefit. Did you use Temerity instead?
im blasting with this build. thx so much!
Cheers guys
Maxroll is amazing. I always keep it up on my 2nd monitor for the builds and loot tables as I play. Best guides!
Amazing as always. Thank you Rax.
this build makin me comeback for s5 yessir zeus style
i recommend if [Staff of Lam Esen] dropped while leveling use it and use charged bolts instead of fire shield and it is going to feel like the end game build but with less protection
Awesome build, great video! Will definitely aspire to get this, and might take of the offer for a Lilith kill!
good video
i have a burning sorc build so far but have been grabbing gear when I find something that might help.
I'm glad this build is good now. I played spear in s2 cuz it was fun but it wasn't powerful at endgame
I got the 725 version of the f. Winter glass. I have been crushing ever since with no other mythics.
I started this build Yesterday. Duriel gave me a Tyraels Might and i crafted my Shako. Somehow i don't have a winterglass after 10 runs lol. Btw im running through NM 70s like nothing with not even close to a perfect build
Thanks for the video
Only had fractured winterglass for uniques and swapped to this build from firewall at lev 70 and already so much stronger so you dont really have to wait too long to make the build and have it work well
Ty for being so informative
Lightning is always the best vs. demons. Good build.
Lots of fun. Thx
I spend about 10 minutes on Varshan and got him to like 60% then my hands started to hurt :)
thx raxx...very helpful tips as every time....for a casual player like me !!
Fractured Wintergrasp continues to elude me
I was struggling with chain lightning mana cost and bosses. Switched to Lightning Spear, started to absolutely erase everything, tormented bosses and Lilith alike.
Great build Rax,
Can You tell me how damage increase work on splintering aspect?
Its like 50% cricital damage, its clear 50% cricital damage + 50% more damage ?
Hi Raxx, thanks for the informative video as always - what are those beautiful transmogs you have going there?
Literally got frozen winterglass at lvl 100 by forcing drops at Zir. Played with mana enchants on jewelery, combined with Esu’s Heirloom and Tibault’s Will which i was lucky to get very early on until 100, no problem.
Any ideas if the chain lightning andariel can compete with this ?
I'm loving the axial conduit gameplay, already got starless skies but still looking for andariel
Wondering the same thing
Nope not even close
Meantime stormslide actauly smacks this build 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 💯💯💯
@@eastmankoda9364 lightning spear beats stormslide by a mile
@@jumpjack15 😂😂😂😂 not entirely shitter
Rax is Chuck Norris of gaming :)
I got a winterglass from finishing one of the seasonal quests and immediately swapped and zipped my way to 100 so quickly. Now doing 5/6 hordes easily and I have very shit cdr still
Im running starless skies with this instead of legendary ring not sure if i like it more or not but its a great mythic none the less
Awesome guide man
on the build he has 225 paragon points. I have 224. I'm lvl 100 and have all the renown. where the last point come from??
After i finish my druid im coming for this build 😈💪🏾
i went sorce cus of your last videop. ahving SO MUCH FUN ON IT!!@ cant weait to try lightnign spear sorce >:)
You are the man rax
What's your opinion on this build after the nerf?
It’s still op and the nerf wasn’t major it was more to reduce the overloading of numbers. I just swapped my sorc to lightning spear and have no issues farming t7 (haven’t tried t8 yet) and basically kill any Uber boss in 1-2 seconds. My gear is okay nothing amazing farmed it all myself and don’t have all the recommended correct stats (however I’m not too far off them)
I was running around at 60% resist and still able to clean t7 hordes without dying. Just had to be careful about managing my defensives and have one rolling when the other is on cd
I’m running this build off maxroll and I’m level 91 and clearing tier 80+ NMD. I don’t even have that great of rolls on my gear either
Got almost everything I need… except the amulet. Eventually scored one with 0.1… RIP. Been through a lot of exquisite blood and haven’t seen it again.
Bought one for 30 mil and it came with 0.3
Ironically ’ve been trying to farm fireball pieces my entire Sorc season and have been frustrated doing so . yet I’ve gotten literally the perfect FW Amy ,Tal ring and staff for this build lol
Josh is using Ice Blades for CD and literally spamming that Ice Spear and Unstable Currents instantly. Lots of button pressing there. Maybe it's an easier build to get started without good gear. I haven't tried Ice Spear yet myself.
