When you do the Windowed Fullscreen option, also scroll down in the tab and make sure to check Lock Cursor. This confines your cursor to the game window, and because you're windowed fullscreen Alt Tabbing will keep the game up on your main monitor while allowing you to penetrate the screen barrier to whatever you're doing on your side monitors. This way you can prevent from accidentally clicking on a bunch of furry pron while having an intense fight with Lillith. Or so my friend tells me could happen.
That is solid. I like the free flow. I’m always watching something on my second monitor and I like controlling it without leaving my gaming position. Saying that I have definitely flown off the screen at some of the worse times.
Regarding combine/move/interact option: It looks like you can hold the position stationary - eg, ranged - whilst shooting basic skill by triggering the "hold position" choice in that list whilst having the combine active
In some builds I'll keep the basic on the left mouse and use g to hold in place. In past games I would just use space bar to hold but I like the dodge there.
Thx for the Tips! Really useful 😊 We need more customizeable Options to track buffs/debuffs. Basically we need Addons in D4 like in WoW. Gimme Weakauras/Details or at least let me move and scale/show/hide buffs ...
Not gonna use all of these ( I prefer the centered HUD for instance ) but definitely some good tips. The cursor size change will help a lot, losing track of it is a big problem for me at times
Take this as a contribution to the vid. Some of these are much simpler to change. Some weren't exactly correct. First what I wouldn't agree on. Hud/left. You move the health bar all the way to the edge and it's right next to the resource one. Seeing that info easier is more important for me on HC, especially with 27" monitor and not sitting way back. Not worth it to maybe see something that's still far enough away and it is only when it's from that angle it does anything so left/right/up doesn't get any pro of using it, also left side gets blocked somewhat instead of the bottom so with that I think you can get why I'm not on the same page. It's worse if you have a resource closer in color to health it's easy to mistake one or the other. For SC then I can see the it being used, esthetic only tho. Windowed vs Full. With a dual monitor setup having the slightly faster time getting the game back in focus is worth it to use Windowed and it makes it smoother going back and forth between game/browser. You can just lock cursor and it's like Full-screen mode. Also full can often get hidden if you switch to browser and that's not very good for HC. Can't recall if D4 does that atm tho. If you have a slow PC Full will help with performance a little bit. Then what can be done in a more simple way. Don't need to remove combined buttons. Just bind something like mouse button 5 for force move, no need to change anything from the regular bindings you'd use unless you use mb5 for something already then just choose another one. For the rest they are okay and some are basic stuff people miss so it's good to remind about them. 👍 Hope you don't mind some constructive critic. Much is personal preference, just not all. ❤
The whole problem you're describing with the "combine move/interact?basic skill" option can be avoided by using a keybind to move. Been using the spacebar to move since Diablo II after a friend recommended it, and I haven't changed it since, still very nice way to play
I like the space bar for move, I tend to like evade there, it's a big button to get me out of trouble 😄. I have also used it to hold in place when i'm using force move setup using another key to move.
Talking about the cursor, changing the color of it helps me a lot, i get lost most of the time where my pointer is with heavy mobs, changed mine to lime green
@@OwnModeGaming basic skill slot - A core skill - right click skill slot 1 - Q skill slot 2 - W skill slot 3 - 3 skill slot 4 - R move - left click interact - F move and interact - G evade - space use potion - 2 :) I hope some people find that useful.
Not sure if you knew this but instead of changing basic skill to another key completely, keep it as all the same but hold shift down instead to stand in place and use your basic skill without moving. Shift plus left click is less strain then G and leaves your hand closer for your other skills with shift key holding

@@OwnModeGaming Exactly. I use a logitech mx master. It really changes the gaming experience. Moreover while channeling spells, you can cast protection without interurptions. It' really better than the keyboard. All I did was to setup the mouse driver to assign keys '1', '2', '3' and '4' to specific buttons. You could even assign four skills to slots 1-4 , allowing your character to fight with 6 different skills.
I hope fixing these settings fixes my eye issues with d4. Im a console player. I can play all other games for hours. But d4 makes my vision blurry to where i cant even read affixs after awhile. I feel like maybe reading tiny text does it too. But maybe this will help

Try raise the sharpness of the game in video options, dlss need to be on for that function to work if not mistaken. Also calibrate your brightness, the game is so dark by default.
Great tips, I would add one that I only found after a while is sharpen image, for some reason mine was to zero, 30 is my best setting, I remember being frustrated at how crappy my game looked even with a decent gpu. Sharpen Image made it glorious
the first thing I do with any new game installed is to go to options and set the graphics to 640x480 and lowest texture. I do maximize all volume settings ingame. The graphics may suck bcos of this but it does speedup my game.
Thank you very much for these tips. Yes, they may have been around for awhile, but this vid arrived at just the right time for me. Simply adjusting cursor size/color and moving HUD made the game so much more enjoyable. Note: I am a filthy casual and wander in and out of D4.
I thought id hate having left click be the basic skill, but somehow Im not bothered by it in D4. In PoE Id shoot myself if I couldnt set left click to move only. I however dont like pressing too many buttons. I seldomly use the T button on PoE, so D4's 4 keyboard buttons are perfect for me. I also already had the advanced tooltips on, but thanks for the other settings! They work great. Esp moving the HUD
Unless I did this before and forgot which is very possible, when I went on the PC to do this, half of these were turned or switched off and the HUD was left corner by default. This could be because I played on console 1st which maybe had most of these off by default. The ADvanced tool tips being off by default is just stupid IMO. Really helpful when trying to choose between gear especially in the endgame when you are trying to maximize your gains. Thanks for the help.
That is weird, I forced everything to default before we did that video. I totally agree on the advance tip thing, it makes no sense not to have that on. Of course and thank you!
I won't do some of these because i have most of my skills on mouse buttons because i like to sit back while i play games and not have my left hand hovering over my keyboard. It makes for better posture for me and reduces the chance of getting shoulder pain.

I'm left handed, and it feels weird to have the lower left corner blocked for me. HUD on top would be a great idea. The game 'field' is tilted slightly so there's more screen space/visibility above than below. We really should have 7 HUD options (top, bottom, each corner, and off/very minimal, ie: just health/resource numbers and conditions/stacks/cooldowns). I definitely have clicked on my HUD when trying to kill things, though. It's a minor issue, but still an issue.
I haven't really thought about the left handed thing, the right would be nice for that. In general,I would like to see more hud options. It seems like a small thing to add and I think it would be valuable to a lot of players.
Movement on console version are awesome, but the range atacks are a crap to aim 😛 There's basically no way to aim properly Also, the HUD is at left side by default at console version 🙂
That is the rub for sure. I like sitting back with a controller from time to time and some builds need the aim. That is good to know about the console hud. I'm going to spend more time on the console before the next setting's video.
@OwnModeGaming On console/presumably on PC with 'roller, you CAN target your skills onto a specific enemy. It's tricky and imprecise (might try shifting the button layout to more closely match D3, if possible) but if you can get the boss/elite/desired target health bar to be the one displayed at the top, you click the right stick in to "lock on". In D3, you simply did the same with the health bar and then held down L2/Left Trigger to lock on. In D4, this button is your evade. Hope this is useful, to the OP or for your next settings video!
@@jedirayden For the console the only thing that bother me a lot is when I need to select the drop to get... you jut have to get everything and discard what you don't need
Yes please for the key binding video, I'm usually playing in console but right now trying to figure out the pc for being able to game while son hogs the TV 😂
I did it with all the abilities on the mouse and surrounded the movement keys with the stuff I use all the time (potions, portals, mounting, menus, etc) and left evade on the keyboard.
A bunch but I next will place all of my key menus just above the home row and place some additional keys below the home row as I figure out what I'm using the most. You can also check those in game, without losing your current by changing to key configuration 2 and look at what those keys are set to.
I'd like to know (if it's possible) is how to stop my screen from zooming in close while I'm in combat. I find it very frustrating when my view gets cut down and I can see the outer groups of enemy combatants. Then to have to take my finger off the action button and roll the mouse wheel to zoom out. 🤬
The only thing I can think of is to turn off the zoom on mouse scroll by unchecking the box in settings. I'm assuming you might be rolling it on accident and zooming in. Second, I would just double check that the far setting is on. Let me know if that helps, if not, telling me more about what's happening and we'll try to figure it out.
Me personally. I play with an Azeron Cyborg and have the WASD linked to analog so I have mouse aim and keyboard move so I can have advanced Mobility and aiming, this will become meta in POE2 where you are going to be able to move and cast at the same time.
I love your videos! Thank you for all your efforts. Let's grow this channel! Please do a controller/console overview/tutorial, specifically the targeting system. The D4 targeting system is quite powerful but needs to be explained in more detail. Could you do a deep dive on that?
Its all subjective, but your tip on hud configuration . . . If you move it to the corner it is now, typically, not as easy to see which skills need to be reset or which cooldowns have lifted, etc.
Thanks for the great tips! I didn't realize how many of those I missed! The comparison/information tips for items at the end were especially nice! How did I miss those!? 🙃 I really have to go through my "options" more often. *edit - note to self: next time less exclamation points! 🤣

Thank you. I haven't tested it but maybe if you had one of those controllers with the back triggers it would be cool.
Thx for the Tips! Really useful 😊 We need more customizeable Options to track buffs/debuffs. Basically we need Addons in D4 like in WoW. Gimme Weakauras/Details or at least let me move and scale/show/hide buffs ...
Very helpful video!!!
Thank you so much, I appreciate it!
Not gonna use all of these ( I prefer the centered HUD for instance ) but definitely some good tips. The cursor size change will help a lot, losing track of it is a big problem for me at times
Thank you, I'm glad you got value out of it!!!
Big props for this video. Me and you are extremely alligned with choices and decision making. Thank you for making this!
Awesome! Thanks, man! You are so welcome!
Hope you don't mind some constructive critic.
Nice! That will be hard to miss
This game uniquely causes a ton of eye strain. Gonna try these setting changes, really appreciate it and would love more tips!
Awesome to hear, thank you! Let me know how it goes.
I use a completely custom key bind setup that makes it more like playing league of legends / path of exile. WAY better imo.
What's your setup?
@@OwnModeGaming
basic skill slot - A
core skill - right click
skill slot 1 - Q
skill slot 2 - W
skill slot 3 - 3
skill slot 4 - R
move - left click
interact - F
move and interact - G
evade - space
use potion - 2
:) I hope some people find that useful.
@@hellcat5music cool, thank you for doing that. I really appreciate it!
Not sure if you knew this but instead of changing basic skill to another key completely, keep it as all the same but hold shift down instead to stand in place and use your basic skill without moving. Shift plus left click is less strain then G and leaves your hand closer for your other skills with shift key holding
I have even used it for awhile. It's a solid setup!
Love how detailed and informative this video was! Thank you so much, it helped play this game more than ever 😂
Awesome, that is so great to hear. I really appreciate the support. 🎉
I never knew until I watched your video, which are very useful and make my gameplay more enjoyable. Thank you so much.
Awesome, I'm glad it helped.
OMG... Thank you soooo much for these tips!! I can't believe I've been playing this for over a year and I didn't even think about checking some of the settings... I snickered when you said that you use ASDF for your skills... I've always HATED 1234 even in D3 I've been using ASDF for my skills.... now its like second nature :D I just applied several of the recommendations... now to see how it changes the game :) Cheers!!!
You are so welcome! Let me know how it goes.
Yep I'm Interested in your custom keybindings for DiabloIV.
Awesome, that video is right here: th-cam.com/video/rtZaMC0YtCw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZyJvZAwXxKLWvUjS
Since you mentioned console as well, has anybody figured out how to show you barrier and XP points on PS5? PC version you just move the arrow of the mouse over the XP Marble to show them during a practice with the puppets, but since there is no mouse for PS5, I can‘t figure this out.
I'm not sure that it's possible. I checked all the controller options and checked with my wife that runs only controller and I can't find a way.
🙏🙏 If anybody know, pls let us know!
the centered one was driving me up the wall, thanks man!
I am so glad it helped!
Hiya!! After loving Diablo & POE for thousands hours of gametime, I think you should cover Dwarven Realms releasing at the end of September, even in its early acess it been a massive blast combining POE-like gearing system combined with Roguelike of Vampire Survivors + Action RPG feeling of BDO in 3rd person being able to animation cancel dashes etc! And the Devs keep pushing out significant updates, changes and fixes daily and the community on discord is really chill and helpful
Sounds fun!
thanks for the tips, running around the open world is 10x better... you're gem mate!
Awesome and thank you so much!
awsome, honestly, i'm thankful that you've pointed these out, and I will go ahead and shut them off, what drives me nuts, is trying to hit Q , to heal potion, and hitting tab instead, especially when I NEED the heal.
You are so welcome
Great video man played the entirety of season 4 without this. Idk why I never went thru the settings
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the tips, they are really great. However, I use a gaming mouse for my 4 secondary skills. It make fighting much easier, and more fun too. 🙂
Awesome, like a MMO mouse?
Hopefully it does, it did end up helping me a ton. If that doesn't there are computer glasses from Gunnar that I have used for the last few years that really help with eye strain, especially when I'm playing late at night.
Thank you and that is a solid tip!
Great video and explanation 👍
Thank you! 👍
the first thing I do with any new game installed is to go to options and set the graphics to 640x480 and lowest texture. I do maximize all volume settings ingame. The graphics may suck bcos of this but it does speedup my game.
That should speed it up.
As a bonus, this gives you back some of the classic Diablo vibe. 😉
Thank you very much for these tips. Yes, they may have been around for awhile, but this vid arrived at just the right time for me. Simply adjusting cursor size/color and moving HUD made the game so much more enjoyable. Note: I am a filthy casual and wander in and out of D4.
You are welcome. I'm so glad you got them when you needed them, that is cool. Sometimes it's the little things. "Filthy casual", I love it!
Awesome 😎 I'm glad it helped!
Great info and looking for more if since I'm moving from PS5 to PC. Thanks for your time and research.
Awesome! I hope you enjoy the switch.
I won't do some of these because i have most of my skills on mouse buttons because i like to sit back while i play games and not have my left hand hovering over my keyboard. It makes for better posture for me and reduces the chance of getting shoulder pain.
Awesome, do your thing, my friend! I love it.
I just subscribed/followed your channel. So interesting your take on the gameplay rather than just the builds, or repetitive content we've being seen, plus your didactics are spot on. Thanks
Thanks, man! I work a lot on covering what is being missed that players can benefit from and how I teach it. I really appreciate your comment. Warning, I do have plans on build guides next season but I'm working out how to cover it uniquely.
Great video! Yes please share your other list.
Please do more of this I'm definitely going to try this thank you 😊
You're welcome and I definitely will!
Thank you for the video. The Advanced Tooltip Compare doesnt work for me even when turned on. Tried multiple times, playing on PC, but doesnt show the comparison 🙁
There is a button that toggles on/off the compare, for me it's the shift key and I think that is the default key.
Also try the ALT key?
@@mrblitzer8705 Thank you! There was no hotkey assigned for mine, I've set it as the shift key & is working perfectly lol 🥰Now to work on getting the sword I want 😊Thanks for the video and all the tips, much appreciated!
You can click lock cursor so it will not leave your screen. If you need to go to your other screen you you can push ALT+Tab
That is true. I do like the free float so I can do things on my computer without leaving my gaming position.
Great Tips! The HUD on the left I changed since the Beta, but some of these I was not aware of as I do little keybinding, i never read through all these. Thanks for the video!
Thank you and you're welcome. I'm glad you liked it!
My other half plays on a laptop that is unable to play at full settings, it's not the best but she doesn't play many games. Does anyone know which settings will change spell effects? For example the most deadly one that she struggles with is the freeze circles, she can see the very middle freeze ball effect but can not see the area so its hard for her to dodge them
Found this video today and a huge thank you, I don't often have time to deep dive guides or tutorials. This was a perfect short and to the point guide!
You are so welcome!
I been playing with awsd to move, I dont mind to bind a few keys as I used to play wow with tons of macros hha, I didn't enjoy moving clicking in diablo2, I remember when I played Lineage 2 then I quit few weeks later just for that aspect. I'll follow your tips, thanks 😊
Awesome, I played a lot of wow and I loved my macros. I put a lot of time into them ☺️
I'm left handed, and it feels weird to have the lower left corner blocked for me.
Thank you! These tips are great, much appreciated. Stoked to find your channel. 🤘
Thank you. I'm stoked you found my channel!
Great video. Changed a lot of the settings based on your recommendations.
Awesome, thank you!
Ty for the tips keep the content rolling!
You are so welcome!
thank you. these were very helpful
So glad to hear it. Ty!
Great video sir, I learned alot. Definitely improves player experience.
Thank you, man!
Movement on console version are awesome, but the range atacks are a crap to aim 😛 There's basically no way to aim properly
Also, the HUD is at left side by default at console version 🙂
I bind force move to scroll wheel and keep move/interact/skill to mb1. To force skill shift + mb1.
I never enjoyed the wheel movement, but a lot of people swear by it.
Yes please for the key binding video, I'm usually playing in console but right now trying to figure out the pc for being able to game while son hogs the TV 😂
Awesome, it is in the works. We have a couple videos before it and it will be right after those.
Set the mouse cursor color to yellow, the. You can leave it small so you can see more under the mouse, yet it's super easy to spot.
Nice, I like it.
Man this video helped me in a huge way on several points. Sub'd and liked. Thank You.
You are welcome, my friend! Thank you for the sub and like.
Good video thank you.
Thank you!
The hud icons and hotbar are a nightmare when you're trying to get somewhere on a mount... that's for sure.
Do you have information on how to key bind to WASD movement?
I did it with all the abilities on the mouse and surrounded the movement keys with the stuff I use all the time (potions, portals, mounting, menus, etc) and left evade on the keyboard.
@@OwnModeGaming awesome, thanks!
What keys do you bind the actions displaced by putting all skills on W, A, S, D, F, G?
Enjoying this, would like more, particularly around key bindings
Me personally. I play with an Azeron Cyborg and have the WASD linked to analog so I have mouse aim and keyboard move so I can have advanced Mobility and aiming, this will become meta in POE2 where you are going to be able to move and cast at the same time.
I like it. Can't wait for POE2 it look so good.
@@OwnModeGaming November 15 I believe is early access!!!!! I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!

very helpful thank you
You're welcome!
The advanced tooltips are a lifesaver! Thank you!
You are so welcome! I can’t believe they haven’t always been default.
What’s the pro logic sound in the speaker setup is it better than the other?
Only if your audio setup can utilize it. I would just test it and see if it makes a difference you like.
Good stuff. I had found a couple on my own, but your explanation was quite helpful.
Good to hear!
I love your videos! Thank you for all your efforts. Let's grow this channel! Please do a controller/console overview/tutorial, specifically the targeting system. The D4 targeting system is quite powerful but needs to be explained in more detail. Could you do a deep dive on that?
Thank you so much. In the longer one I definitely wanted to add controller, key binding and even console settings.
I can't even tell the difference...subtle is an understatement.
Even subtle it adds up over long sessions and I think you mean accurate 😜
Its all subjective, but your tip on hud configuration . . . If you move it to the corner it is now, typically, not as easy to see which skills need to be reset or which cooldowns have lifted, etc.
Thanks for the tips helps a lot especially with the tool tips
Happy to help, my friend!
Thanks for the great tips! I didn't realize how many of those I missed! The comparison/information tips for items at the end were especially nice! How did I miss those!? 🙃
I really have to go through my "options" more often.
*edit - note to self: next time less exclamation points! 🤣
Thanks, this was awesome! And I love the 'note to self'. I get crazy with the exclamations, too‼️
