I actually had the HUD on the left by default and moved it to the center. I find it way easier to keep track of my HP and cooldowns this way without having my eyes to bounce back and forth from the corner.
Looking slightly down in the center also means less straining on the eyes than looking down in the left corner. It's in fact the natural resting position of the eyes.

One thing not mentioned for the high contrast cursor is that the circle just below that setting lets you choose a color for the cursor. So if bright white isn't good enough you can change the color to something else. I made mine like a light blue/cyan type color and I find that helps me keep track of where my cursor is when things get crazy on screen with all the ground effects.
For those unfamiliar with Diablo, the HUD has always been in the center since the first game. Modern games tend to put the HUD in the bottom left corner, so in D3 (I think) they added that option.

thankyou for these tips, as a gamer that doesn't play a lot it will be very beneficial for me. also having the hud to the left has made it a lot easier for me cheers
I just set the mouse scroll wheel to force move & use it to move instead of clicking. It's something I learned from d3 & I also setup the num lock trick for putting my skills on auto. This allows me to spam all keys by scrolling on the wheel while holding shift, + both my mouse buttons down. All I do is watch my health & dodge while doing that with my current build. You can also set a custom crosshair color, which can be helpful to make it more visible at all times. If you are on PC, disabling cross play makes the game less laggy due to not having so much work. The result is you will see fewer players, but be unable to play/communicate with console users, & you might have to restart the game every time you want to change that option.
I reducing the strobing, screen shake, font medium size, combat flash, and moving my HUD to the left side is all valid to my comfort, except for the separate Basic attack & interact, hence Controller is limited to the number of buttons to use. Over all, good video.
I love your videos! Thank you for all your efforts. Let's grow this channel! Please do a controller/console overview/tutorial, specifically the targeting system. The D4 targeting system is quite powerful but needs to be explained in more detail. Could you do a deep dive on that?
Great Tips! The HUD on the left I changed since the Beta, but some of these I was not aware of as I do little keybinding, i never read through all these. Thanks for the video!

When you do the Windowed Fullscreen option, also scroll down in the tab and make sure to check Lock Cursor. This confines your cursor to the game window, and because you're windowed fullscreen Alt Tabbing will keep the game up on your main monitor while allowing you to penetrate the screen barrier to whatever you're doing on your side monitors. This way you can prevent from accidentally clicking on a bunch of furry pron while having an intense fight with Lillith. Or so my friend tells me could happen.

The whole problem you're describing with the "combine move/interact?basic skill" option can be avoided by using a keybind to move. Been using the spacebar to move since Diablo II after a friend recommended it, and I haven't changed it since, still very nice way to play
I like the space bar for move, I tend to like evade there, it's a big button to get me out of trouble 😄. I have also used it to hold in place when i'm using force move setup using another key to move.
Regarding combine/move/interact option: It looks like you can hold the position stationary - eg, ranged - whilst shooting basic skill by triggering the "hold position" choice in that list whilst having the combine active
In some builds I'll keep the basic on the left mouse and use g to hold in place. In past games I would just use space bar to hold but I like the dodge there.

Hiya!! After loving Diablo & POE for thousands hours of gametime, I think you should cover Dwarven Realms releasing at the end of September, even in its early acess it been a massive blast combining POE-like gearing system combined with Roguelike of Vampire Survivors + Action RPG feeling of BDO in 3rd person being able to animation cancel dashes etc! And the Devs keep pushing out significant updates, changes and fixes daily and the community on discord is really chill and helpful
I've seen mentions of using the shift key to standstill for ranged shots. If you combine that with the Force move function it's also a solution for the problem. I bind Force move to a button and if I need to GTFO of the way without interacting with anything, I just use that button as my move and it will neglect the interactions and attack. Just an alternative I figured it was worth mentioning
Talking about the cursor, changing the color of it helps me a lot, i get lost most of the time where my pointer is with heavy mobs, changed mine to lime green
@@OwnModeGaming basic skill slot - A core skill - right click skill slot 1 - Q skill slot 2 - W skill slot 3 - 3 skill slot 4 - R move - left click interact - F move and interact - G evade - space use potion - 2 :) I hope some people find that useful.
Thanks for the great tips! I didn't realize how many of those I missed! The comparison/information tips for items at the end were especially nice! How did I miss those!? 🙃 I really have to go through my "options" more often. *edit - note to self: next time less exclamation points! 🤣

Love the videos did the key binding set up works great. So I have a problem with my chat I have checked the settings on both discord and windows and I have the correct headphones assigned but for some reason I’ll be talking and then out of nowhere my friends can not hear me at all so I constantly have to go out of the chat room then back in.
Thank you so much. I can't help you on the audio that problem usually comes from the audio setup on the computer. You might check if you have an audio software that takes over or a mute button on your mic.
@@OwnModeGaming Exactly. I use a logitech mx master. It really changes the gaming experience. Moreover while channeling spells, you can cast protection without interurptions. It' really better than the keyboard. All I did was to setup the mouse driver to assign keys '1', '2', '3' and '4' to specific buttons. You could even assign four skills to slots 1-4 , allowing your character to fight with 6 different skills.
I'm not sure I don't use any of the settings in there, other than highlights. I'll check it out. I might need to do a full video of all settings and include that.
Not gonna use all of these ( I prefer the centered HUD for instance ) but definitely some good tips. The cursor size change will help a lot, losing track of it is a big problem for me at times
Great tips, I would add one that I only found after a while is sharpen image, for some reason mine was to zero, 30 is my best setting, I remember being frustrated at how crappy my game looked even with a decent gpu. Sharpen Image made it glorious
I won't do some of these because i have most of my skills on mouse buttons because i like to sit back while i play games and not have my left hand hovering over my keyboard. It makes for better posture for me and reduces the chance of getting shoulder pain.
the first thing I do with any new game installed is to go to options and set the graphics to 640x480 and lowest texture. I do maximize all volume settings ingame. The graphics may suck bcos of this but it does speedup my game.
awsome, honestly, i'm thankful that you've pointed these out, and I will go ahead and shut them off, what drives me nuts, is trying to hit Q , to heal potion, and hitting tab instead, especially when I NEED the heal.
Unless I did this before and forgot which is very possible, when I went on the PC to do this, half of these were turned or switched off and the HUD was left corner by default. This could be because I played on console 1st which maybe had most of these off by default. The ADvanced tool tips being off by default is just stupid IMO. Really helpful when trying to choose between gear especially in the endgame when you are trying to maximize your gains. Thanks for the help.
That is weird, I forced everything to default before we did that video. I totally agree on the advance tip thing, it makes no sense not to have that on. Of course and thank you!
Not sure if you knew this but instead of changing basic skill to another key completely, keep it as all the same but hold shift down instead to stand in place and use your basic skill without moving. Shift plus left click is less strain then G and leaves your hand closer for your other skills with shift key holding

Awesome Video! I play on a older PC with 1050ti. so its nice to see something that can help with the clutter. any other tips for low end PCs? to keep looking decent but smooth
There are some great videos that actually tested the frame rate vs how taxing it was on the pc. Here are two I would check out.

Great video man played the entirety of season 4 without this. Idk why I never went thru the settings
Thank you so much!
Sounds fun!
Nice, that's a great tip, thanks for sharing!
This game uniquely causes a ton of eye strain. Gonna try these setting changes, really appreciate it and would love more tips!
Awesome to hear, thank you! Let me know how it goes.
Talking about the cursor, changing the color of it helps me a lot, i get lost most of the time where my pointer is with heavy mobs, changed mine to lime green
Nice! That will be hard to miss
very good tips. please give us more tip. thanks
Thank you. I’ve been playing for a while and didn’t know about many of these.
I'm so glad!
I use a completely custom key bind setup that makes it more like playing league of legends / path of exile. WAY better imo.
What's your setup?
@@OwnModeGaming
basic skill slot - A
core skill - right click
skill slot 1 - Q
skill slot 2 - W
skill slot 3 - 3
skill slot 4 - R
move - left click
interact - F
move and interact - G
evade - space
use potion - 2
:) I hope some people find that useful.
@@hellcat5music cool, thank you for doing that. I really appreciate it!
Thanks for the great tips! I didn't realize how many of those I missed! The comparison/information tips for items at the end were especially nice! How did I miss those!? 🙃
I really have to go through my "options" more often.
*edit - note to self: next time less exclamation points! 🤣
Thanks, this was awesome! And I love the 'note to self'. I get crazy with the exclamations, too‼️
Thanks so much for this video! I absolutely love the changes I have made thanks to you!
Awesome! You are so welcome!
I just subscribed/followed your channel. So interesting your take on the gameplay rather than just the builds, or repetitive content we've being seen, plus your didactics are spot on. Thanks
Thanks, man! I work a lot on covering what is being missed that players can benefit from and how I teach it. I really appreciate your comment. Warning, I do have plans on build guides next season but I'm working out how to cover it uniquely.
Yep I'm Interested in your custom keybindings for DiabloIV.
Awesome, that video is right here: th-cam.com/video/rtZaMC0YtCw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZyJvZAwXxKLWvUjS
Really enjoy your tips. Any extras greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!
Awesome, thank you!
@@OwnModeGaming Yeah hit me up to on the extra tips
Love the videos did the key binding set up works great. So I have a problem with my chat I have checked the settings on both discord and windows and I have the correct headphones assigned but for some reason I’ll be talking and then out of nowhere my friends can not hear me at all so I constantly have to go out of the chat room then back in.
Thank you so much. I can't help you on the audio that problem usually comes from the audio setup on the computer. You might check if you have an audio software that takes over or a mute button on your mic.
@@OwnModeGaming my headphones are Corsair so might have to check in the ique settings for the headphones
Thanks for the tips, they are really great. However, I use a gaming mouse for my 4 secondary skills. It make fighting much easier, and more fun too. 🙂
Awesome, like a MMO mouse?
@@OwnModeGaming Exactly. I use a logitech mx master. It really changes the gaming experience. Moreover while channeling spells, you can cast protection without interurptions. It' really better than the keyboard. All I did was to setup the mouse driver to assign keys '1', '2', '3' and '4' to specific buttons.
You could even assign four skills to slots 1-4 , allowing your character to fight with 6 different skills.
grate setting thank you less lag:)
😄😄😄😄😄
Yeah, I didn't even mention that. I'm researching the graphic settings right now and there are definitely settings that will decrease lag.
@@OwnModeGaming looking forward on that one because lagg is my greatest foe in that game
I like to see if it is possible for you to do a deep dive into the accessibility settings for the screen reader and things like that if possible
I'm not sure I don't use any of the settings in there, other than highlights. I'll check it out. I might need to do a full video of all settings and include that.
I knew most of these already, but I appreciate you putting in the work. I'm looking forward to more tips. Keep it up!
Thanks, man! 👍
Not gonna use all of these ( I prefer the centered HUD for instance ) but definitely some good tips. The cursor size change will help a lot, losing track of it is a big problem for me at times
Thank you, I'm glad you got value out of it!!!
Great video and tips, thank you.
Thank you and you are so welcome!
Great tips, I would add one that I only found after a while is sharpen image, for some reason mine was to zero, 30 is my best setting, I remember being frustrated at how crappy my game looked even with a decent gpu. Sharpen Image made it glorious
Thank you and that is a solid tip!
I appreciate this ! helped out a lot.
Glad to hear it!
I won't do some of these because i have most of my skills on mouse buttons because i like to sit back while i play games and not have my left hand hovering over my keyboard. It makes for better posture for me and reduces the chance of getting shoulder pain.
Awesome, do your thing, my friend! I love it.
Nice guide , thank you !
You are so welcome!
Wow good job. Thanks a lot !
You're so welcome. I'm really glad you liked it!
the first thing I do with any new game installed is to go to options and set the graphics to 640x480 and lowest texture. I do maximize all volume settings ingame. The graphics may suck bcos of this but it does speedup my game.
That should speed it up.
As a bonus, this gives you back some of the classic Diablo vibe. 😉
awsome, honestly, i'm thankful that you've pointed these out, and I will go ahead and shut them off, what drives me nuts, is trying to hit Q , to heal potion, and hitting tab instead, especially when I NEED the heal.
You are so welcome
I have even used it for awhile. It's a solid setup!
