I’m 50 yrs old. My stinky feet have been a problem since I was 8 years old. I slept over my friend’s house when I was 8 and the mom commented on my stinky feet. Ever since then I have always had to wash my feet before I had people over my house or if i was invited somewhere and I knew I had to take my shoes off. I had to plan how many pairs of socks I brought on trips bc I knew my feet would smell. Woe is me.
A doctor once told me that the healthiest thing to do for your feet is to go barefoot as much as possible. Only wear socks and shoes when you absolutely have to.
In middle school I would wear my shoes without socks everyday, and they would stink! My feet and shoes would. They where white Nike Airforces, and I was a messy girl back then. I eventually got rid of those shoes. The insides would get dirty and my foot’s imprints got suck on the sole, pretty yucky inside, the shoes even started feeling weird when I would put them on, they felt spongy.
After I put my socks on I put deodorant on the bottom of my feet before putting on my shoes. Any kind of deodorant works. I highly recommend using the flaky white kind instead of the gel kind. I personally use Irish Spring deodorant on the bottom of my feet. And it works. I have no smelly feet after a 10 hour work day. You could also use body spray to spray inside of your shoes before putting them on. I've done both deodorant and body spray. Really works! At least for me. Btw, one time my female bestie wore high heel leather boots for a whole day without socks. When she took them off in my car her feet smelled vinegarie lol.
My shoes always smell fine, but I wash my feet everyday. In high school I washed my feet about every 3 days, yeah that was a problem and made my shoes smell bad after a while.
Great question, BBuzzy8. People with a condition called plantar hyperhidrosis sweat excessively from their feet, and antiperspirants are often used to treat this. However, this doesn't work for everyone with this condition, and can cause rashes/itching. So it can vary from case to case.

Careful and correct hygiene removes bacteria and the dead skin cells on which they feed. Also, ••►point of the matter is, if you run a mile, then your socks, shoes, and feet will stink afterward.◄•• Nope! Clean feet in fresh shoes and (the right kind of) fresh socks will be virtually free of odor after a mile run (Well, I might be the exception since it would take me all day and half the night to run a mile !!) -Denny
If you buy brand new socks and keep your feet clean, you can literally make work boots that normally stink, start smelling like new socks, it's something about old socks (even after you wash them) that just automatically stink after a day at work, however brand new socks and clean feet, can be so sweaty that they're wet, BUT THEY DONT STINK! That's why I always buy new socks for $10 because I can go to McDonald's or the gas station and spend $15 on some food or snacks that will only last 20 minutes and it's gone, but my socks will last ... Just keep new ones and try to not ever wear them... Problem solved lol
