    Will these rear shock in your description work for a 67 bug on the rears

    • @tuned_tunas
      @tuned_tunas  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the suspension is set up the same way in the rear yes. I know older models have a different rear end

    any issues with the front torsion arms rubbing on the shocks?

    • @tuned_tunas
      @tuned_tunas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They do not. My through rod did at first but I just grounded down to where the nut I added was on and it’s been good ever since. They way they come is a bit too wide.

    I put air shocks in the back and they dont go up please help

    • @tuned_tunas
      @tuned_tunas  ปีที่แล้ว

      They don’t move much since the rear is so heavy with the motor. Mine barely raised enough to not rub.

    How much of your upper trailing arms did you grind off to clear the air shocks?

    • @tuned_tunas
      @tuned_tunas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the rear I only cut the spring plate to be able to adjust the torsion bar. Other then that I didn’t cut anything else in the rear.

    • @michaelnibblett2089
      @michaelnibblett2089 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean the front upper arms. I had to cut ALot off the upper to clear my shock

    • @tuned_tunas
      @tuned_tunas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only had to trim the bottom one, the top trialing arm i didn’t even touch.

    • @michaelnibblett2089
      @michaelnibblett2089 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geez I guess mine had really beefy upper ones then

    • @tuned_tunas
      @tuned_tunas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s interesting. I didn’t have any issues. I put the car on ramps aired out and raised and lowered it with a Jack to see where it was touching and trimmed that.

    Bro if you need any work on your bug I can narrow that beam for you 2inches 4inches watever you want I live in Turlock I see your around the Santa Cruz area maybe 2hours from Turlock.

    • @tuned_tunas
      @tuned_tunas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate the offer my dude. But I don’t think I would ever narrow my beam. I like good fitment. Don’t understand why narrowed beams are popular on VW. I like the tire sitting right against that’s fender. But maybe that’s just me.

    • @Mryiyo209.
      @Mryiyo209. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right on man. The only reason I narrowed my beam 4inches is because u get better turning radious an the top of the tire is inline with the high inside part of the fender so you can still drive slammed out with no issues an still be able to turn with no rubbing. I just seen in another one of your videos the tire blew out because the side wall rubs with a narrowed beam you don't have that problem.

      I get you bro. That video you saw was back when I still had 195 in the front. Dropped down to 175 and I no longer have that issue and the fitment looks fire🔥 but now everybody knows who to hit up for them narrowed beams !!

    Are you going to run your stock wheels or go back to the 8 spokes?

    • @tuned_tunas
      @tuned_tunas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 8 spokes are also VW original wheels. They just sitting in storage. I would like to have the luxury to swap wheels but can't decide on a color for them

    Only gas charged shocks expand, basic oil shocks (usually preferred for a VW) do not expand.
