  • This video follows my road trip through the mountains in North Carolina and Virginia on my trusty Harley-Davidson Freewheeler. From the stunning scenery to the tremendous memorials, it's all captured here. The scenery was beautiful, and the roads were so much fun to ride on. Join me on a motorcycle ride and see what it's like to explore the great Blue Ridge Parkway! I'll take you on some of the best roads in the area and show you some amazing views, sites, and memorials.

Because of my wifes health issues, we took a trike across Northern West Virginia into Virginia. The mountains were as nothing . Very comfortable and pleasurable knowing she could move, stretch and enjoy.

Yall were in my neck of the woods when yall were in Meadows of Dan Virginia, Southern Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, THE REAL VIRGINIA!! My ancestors have lived in this part of Virginia for 250 plus years. My family fought for the Confederacy in the 54th Infantry. Thanks for showing the monuments of my peoples heritage. Anyway I am a biker of 35 plus years, that is recovering from a bad motorcycling accident 3 weeks ago. A truck side swiped me on a benefit ride in which I got several injuries. But Im alive, THANK JESUS CHRIST!! I am recovering at home and when I seen this video about my home turf, it made me smile. Thanks Sandman, and RIDE SAFE, AND GOD BLESS

I pray for your speedy recovery. I am a firm believer that history should be remembered and not changed. I fought the enemy on the battlefield but always respected them as warriors. I love riding that side of Virginia. Get healthy and ride again. God bless brother.

Sandman, `What a beautiful trike and trip! Wife and I have been riding our trike since 2010. We have been from west coast to the east coast, from Canada to Mexico and just about everywhere between. Rode the dragon in Tn and NC, Mojave desert, Yosemite , all up and down the California coast (where we live),Texas hill country, Colorado mountains and even the great lakes. All great rides in all kinds of weather. We ride a 2009 Kawasaki 1700 with a Champion Independent rear suspension trike kit, and Corbin custom heated seats. Wife and I are both ham radio operators, and so we have radio on our trike. We toured the Champion factory in California in I think it was 2016, and saw how the HD trikes were made.' (Earlier, Champion bought out Lehman trikes, the maker of the tri-glide trikes at the time. Champion is gone now....)

I lived in NOVA for over 30 years. Got out of the TOG in 1989 and went into LE for 27 years. I retired in 2017 and moved to NE Tn. I have loved it here and love riding my 2012 Tri Glide. I'm going on a bike trip up through New England in June and will be going down Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway from Front Royal, Va to Cherokee, NC. My last stop will be Wheels through Time in Maggie Valley, NC before heading home.

That is an awesome ride. I have been to Wheels Through Time several times. Make sure you have plenty of time to see everything. Their collection of motorcycles is second to none. Thanks for watching.

My old stomping grounds. I am far away now, but it's good to see the Parkway. If you go up that way again, around the Sparta N.C. side of the Parkway, is a place called Station's End. Set up for bikers. Loved that place. The other thing is to my great surprise, is I came to your channel about trikes, and then I see Everet right here in your video. Amazing! He's good people, and treated me well at Blackbear in Wytheville many years ago before I moved away. Blew my mind! Small world! Great video man.

Wow, it is a small world indeed. I love that part of NC too, and I will definitely check out Station's End. Thanks for watching.

Hello from Canada. I did not know about the National D Day Memorial that you visited in this video. I have toured Normandy and paid my respects at many memorials and the American cemetery behind Omaha Beach but I have never seen such a moving memorial of that day. I have ridden to Rolling Thunder in Washington a few times and south to the Tail of the Dragon. In 2016 i converted to a 100th Anniversary Ultra with a Voyager conversion. A four wheel Trike. Great for 70 year old knees. No more twistys for me but I hope to get to Bedford VA real soon. Cheers.

I just found your channel and started watching. On Rode Tripping On A Trike. I noticed the freewheeler trunk lid had an organizer. May I ask where you got it and from whom. I would love to get one and get all those lose items to store. Thanks.
