You said minbuyout is the lowest price SINCE the database was scanned, this is not true. It's the only price that's actually just a snapshot of the cheapest price WHEN the database was scanned.
Also the reason the prices seem odd on that Pygmy Owl is because it's an unlearned pet, most people sell pets as caged battle pets. If you were to learn the pet, then cage it you would see different TSM values that are likely more accurate. They both teach the same pet just different items on the AH.
Are they not the same thing? Unless I'm misunderstanding the subtleties somewhere? I think the way you said it was much clearer though, calling it a snapshot at the time of last scan.

Technically the cage pit and an unlearned pet aren't the same thing yes they are the same pet but a caged pet could be max level already and unlearned pet could be level one therefore the max level Cage pet will sell for more and it was still show the same price for the max level cage pit as it is for the minimum level caged pet. So the minimum level caged pet is the same level as an unlearned battle pet and should go for the same price.
I just wanted to say thank you SO much for this guide... I've always wanted to try using TSM but been too hesitant because it seemed too complicated and overwhelming. You explain things really well, and the simple set up you used here as an example was all I really wanted for now to start with. I've been able to make almost 100k gold within a few days because of it. Your video is the only TSM ones I've watched that explained step by step and made it easy to set up and get started. So I wanted to stop and leave a comment saying thank you again!! You rock.

Hey dude, really appreciate the tutorial video! I started using TSM and playing the AH for legendary Shadowlands crafting about a month ago. I've gone from 180k to 5.7mil and I couldn't have gotten an efficient operation up and running w/out the knowledge I picked up from your guide.

Thanks for the video. When i first downloaded tsm, i was so frustrated and angry, and this video made no sense. But after playing with it for a few days, this video makes complete sense, and helped a lot. I find myself making my groups based on deposit costs and assigning different posting durations accordingly. Does anyone else do this?
Ok so, TSM has always fascinated me but seemed WAY too daunting to get into, but having watched this video I'm actually quite excited to set it up for SL and learn to properly use it. Seems like the kind of addon that looks super complicated on the surface, but once you dig in, it all becomes quite straightforward and from there it's just learning about the economy of your server/region ... which is really the same as any other auction addon, but with a super streamlined process instead.

I've began playing wow 14 years ago and i remember playing on private server because the membership was too high for me at that time
Since the day I began playing wow I literally fall in love with the game and I've always been leaving and coming back to it and leaving it again and on and on
Now that I have a better financial situation I can play on official servers but man I wish I'd spend all those hours on an official server since the begining...
Especially now that I know that paying the wow coin is accessible to anyone who can dig a bit deeper and invest some time on gold making (perfect fit for a teenager :p)
It's a bit a pain in the ass having to start from the bottom but how wonderful it feels to have every functionality working and no crashes every 2 hours ahah
The subscription is not that high, but knowing that I can pay the subscription with in game currency makes it pretty attractive to me and now that I know all of this I feel like I was doing it for the young me that had installed tsm previously just to try but didn't understood and felt too overwhelmed and intimidated :p

I just have a small question, when you hover over your items that are already in your Mass Sell group, the entire TSM accounting tab showing (min/ normal and max prices) I don't have that in my items (that are in the group I'm making an operation for) am i missing an add on or a step here?
It's in the tooltip settings, you can turn specific information on and off there.

Does anyone know why TSM Auctioning (min / normal / max price) would not show up?
edit: upon rewatching the video i discovered that the settings menu had a list for Tooltips. Looking there i found that min / normal / max was unticked and ticking it made it show up.
Also i must say thanks to Samadan for creating all these videos and the channel. I would never dip my feet into gold making if it was not for them.

You're very welcome! I use Adibags and an extra TSM filter addon to go with it.
Any idea why I'm missing the TSM auctioning tooltip that shows the min/normal/max price? Thank you for your time and fantastic work you're doing.
You can enable it in the tooltip settings. The item also needs to be in a group with an auctioning operation attached.

So I followed this guide, but when I tried to use the macro for the scroll wheel while holding control down it didn't do anything. I checked my macros and it make a button. Did I do something wrong?

Thankyou. If you go into the main tsm window, in settings there is a tooltip section. You can turn it on in there.

Quick question. My tooltip when I hover over items is nowhere near as full as yours. I do not see the TSM Auctioning, TSM accounting, or TSM Crafting data. Any tips to figuring out why that is?
Look in the tsm settings under tooltip and turn on the ones you want.

How do I ignore items? Like it wants to sell my waters and I want to keep them. And am sick of having to watch my adds as I add them to not add my water.
You can either tell tsm to keep a certain amount in bags in the auctioning operation or you can make a group with no operation assigned and put the items there.
Thank you for these, trying to get into it but having a hard time. My goal is to get a handle on how to make crafting profitable. 1) If I change all price sources to DBMarket, I assume this will focus all TSM's calculations to be on my servers prices correct? 2) Does TSM need to gather data for a certain time period (days, weeks?) before DBMarket is producing accurate/current numbers? 3) Is all AH data in my database based on the time period I have had TSM's app running? 4) Does it only add data to my database if my computer/program is running? If #2 is True, then clearly I don't benefit from an existing AH history of other users on my server and having TSM gathering information constantly for weeks is how I prepare myself to properly use it.
The auction house data comes from the Blizzard api directly. Data such as sale rate is collected from tsm users. Dbmarket data is built from the api data, so is an average over the last 14 days, no need to have the tsm app running.
@@SamadanPlaysWoW So if I freshly installed TSM then I should immediately have avg of past 14 days as my data set for Market prices? This is for Classic specifically.
When I try to post from my scan, my macro to select the items like you showed at the end of the video isn't working. I set it to ctrl up and down. Plz help.
Try redoing it. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries before it sticks.

Im very new to TSM and I keep getting this error "Item/Group is invalid (see chat) then a bunch of commands that lead me to the Minimum price, what should that section read? I know alot of these items sell for more than the vendor price so im not sure how this works exactly :(
It sounds like your price strings are not evaluating so that min < normal < max. Check your auctioning operation and see if you are using different parameters and or percentages.
I cant sell anything everytime I go into the AH it says "Skipped: no Assigned Operation"
How do i fix my TSM scanning for undercuts and cancelling so slowly? I have ~150 auctions posted and it takes so long to scan for undercuts. When I go to cancel them, it's pretty fast until around 50 auctions, then it gets incredibly slow to cancel.

I keep getting the message "Item/Group" is invalid (see chat)" message even when following your operation guide step by step... I see that the window border is not red either so according to the addon the string is correct, as it should be since I followed your guidance. But even with that I cannot scan on the AH because of that error. The default string doesn't work either...
The error in the chat says "Did not post because your minimum price is invalid."
Also nothing was said about the installation. Do we only need the main file or all the secondary files listed as well?
I also don't get nearly as much information on the tooltips when I hover over items.
I used to get this. for me it meant that the normal price formula calculated a price below the minimum price formula. I use different price parameters for each value so Local, Regional and minbuyout could clash sometimes.

There have been a few teething issues with servers due to the start of the expansion, perhaps it could be that?

How do you deselect the base group before a post scan? I can't deselect it for the life of me
You should be able to click on it to select/deselect it. Failing that, just remove the default posting operation assigned to it, probably safer that way.

Why would you set up a new profile for each profession/character? Would love to hear your thoughts on why this may be better than just having a single profile for all chars...
For me it keeps it cleaner because I will want to do different things with the same items for different characters. e.g tidespray linen I use on my main for enchanting, but all the other characters have mailing operations to send tidespray to Samadan.

I've been looking all over the place, but I cant get a clear answer, is there a way to show stack price instead of individual price when searching for an item?
I believe if you right click on the price it will change to stack pricing. Holding shift while hovering over an item shows you total price.

Any reason as to why when i use TSM Accounting tooltip, it doesn't show the last time it was sold on the AH? I've reset the game, redownloaded, etc. but it doesn't pop up.
Does anyone know how to remove characters from the player gold list in the main tab? I can't figure out how to remove characters that I deleted /name changed. Thanks!
It should be in Settings-> General -> Forget Character.

You don't need to scan the AH anymore, the tooltip extra bits are in the settings of TSM in the tooltip tab

Hi folks, I'm new to using TSM. I've installed the desktop app, the addon and the app helper. I've configured which retail server I want to use on my account on the site. I've also imported an upto date set of groups (though they don't have any operations yet). Now my problem: Nothing is showing up in my tooltip? I've set up the tool tip preferences in the addon but none of the information is showing. I did a scan too to be safe.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Sadly, no. The whole premise of tsm is really to have an item in only one group at a time otherwise it would be easy to make conflicting operations. You can make different profiles though and switch between them.
This was a great video. Has anything big changed with Shadowlands/TSM you did not cover?

In the last update they got rid of the import /export tab and I am having difficulty figuring out where they moved it to and how to import strings now. i havent played since legion and am rusty with tsm

When I scroll over items I can't see the details From AuctionDB, and when I try to post it says my minimum price is invalid 😢 what setup should I do to fix this, also in the auction log when I press posting I have no green, just red circle on items and at info it says item/group is invalid see chat....
If you have no data, check the app to see if it has downloaded data for your realm. You need to tell TSM what realm you play on in your TSM account on their website.
Hello, this was working great but today there was a TSM update and now I get an error message when I go to the auction house and it says the minimum price setting is invalid and I'm not sure what part of it to change. Can you help?
Sometimes if there is a game update, the vendor prices are not updated until you visit a vendor. It could be that?

Might be a stupid question but how do i set the standard auctioning time to 48h in tsm?
There are no stupid questions, it's at the top of the auctioning operation when you set it up.
What I don´t understand is the following. I just installed the mod. But of cause the mod doesn´t have all the data of the prices of the past. Is there some kind of scan I have to perform to give the mod a starting data base?

This Video was fantastic! However I seem to be doing something incorrectly or there is something wrong elsewhere. When I made the group for "Mass sale" I copied your string word for word

I tried to use this operation to mass sell shrouded cloth and I continue to get the error stating "Your minimum price of 60% avg(dbmarket, dbregionmarketavg) is invalid, check your setting"
This is strange because I made the pet operation you showed in the later portion of the video and it worked PERFECTLY.... I just cant for some reason get this part to work for the mass sale... When hovering over the item "Shrouded cloth" in my bag it shows this in the TSM auctioning section it states --- / --- / --- ... I read an earlier comment of someone asking and you stated "Make sure an auctioning operation is linked to the group" and for me it is already... I know this has been a lot but I really would like to get back into using TSM since this new auction house released messed everything up!!
It could be that there was not enough region data yet as Shadowlands only just came out. Try using DBMarket on its own

Hey Samadan, is there a way to import one item into an already existing group from an external source?
Lets say i have a group of all weapon enchants except one. The options that i know works to solve this is:
1. Buy the missing enchant and manually add it to the group from my bags.
2. Import the item string via a "import group" (which then adds it to a completely new group) and then go through a step by step move-process to eventually get that one item into my group.
I remember previously in TSM there used to be "Import item" and once you did that you could import the item ID straight into your group of choice. Is this still a thing and i simply missed it?

Yes you can do it easily now by searching for the item in the base group

Stupid question: how can I define how many stacks do I want? the old TSM had this function in the operations but this one just let you do the post cap. When Im auctioning and I try to edit post It actually doesnt let me change it. Im I missing something in here?
It's the auction house itself that's changed. Stacks are no longer a thing, you just post the amount you want. When people buy, they just put in the amount they want and it picks from the cheapest/last posted.

That should be it, the app helper will keep tsm up to date so it should be that same. Maybe ask in the woweconomy discord? discord.gg/woweconomy
my TSM isn't showing much info when hovering over Items....
For you it's a whole list of info. For me it's only TSM General info : Group, Vendor sell price, Inventory size
and TSM Aucioning : Min/Normal/Max prices
I copied all your settings.... Nothing works for mine
I turn them on in the tooltip settings. I also have other addons like alcoholic and all the things that add extra top and bottom.

The TSM dashboard should be a cog icon somewhere around your minimap.
