I think to lay it out in lay-mans terms is he was setting up Sniper groups to search for cheap cloth that will sell at a higher price if he ends up buying the cloth and crating it into bolts to sell again. Which then you can do for any crafting professions: ore into armor, ect..
Yet another awesome video. I have three questions. How do you create a new profile? And does Sniper usually take a while? I have a premade group of 1225 items. Sniper ran for over 40 minutes before I finally stopped the scan. Lastly, if you buy an item while the scan is running, does the scan start again from where it left off?
Profiles are in the TSM dashboard under Settings. Yes, sniper can take a while if you have lots of items in it. You could try a test sniper for something like a fixed 1 million gold to see if it's working. I believe it does pick up where it left off.
TSM keeps spinning on "Finding Selected Auction" and you can't do anything? I'm trying to buy things that come up on AH really quick and then disappears faster because other people are buying it. But it just doesn't work because it just stops at the message above. I've yet to be able to buy a single item due to that problem. There has to be a way to have the sniper scan and buy the item right away? Clearly these people are using something is ridiculously fast, ie it searches and then the second it finds an item it buys it. I might have set up my sniper thing wrong but it's showing the item and everything it just never buys it since it gets stuck on the message up top. Any help would be appreciated.

Sniper will run through every group that has a sniping operation. If you want to do a specific group you would need to remove the operations on the rest or use a different profile if its something you do regularly.

With that said, Sniper has really gotten hampered since the AH system revamp. Question is, does the Burning Crusade Classic AH work the same way under the hood as Retail? TSM is the same no matter what version you play, but do these methods really apply to Classic?
Damn, RIP the glory days of sniper. I started out flipping in Legion and havent played since, but I made 75 million that xpac. The fact that it cant scan last page like it used to means I'll probably never snap up shit people post on accident like back in the day lol.
I've looked for this answer everywhere but can't find anything. I have been trying to buy stuff from the sniper window and clicking buyout doesn't work. I also tried using the macro feature and having the buyout hovered trying to buy cloth quickly it just doesn't buy I have to go to the browse tab to buy it. Is this normal?
That doesn't sound normal no. Usually I click the item in the list and then click buy and if it's still there it buys it. To be honest i don't use sniper much these days as the shopping scan is easier.
Thanks for the video, is there any way to add IDs to an already existing group - for example, if I have a mount group, but want to chop and change exactly what mounts I have in there, is there any way I can take out say 5 IDs from a group and import 8? Whenever I try to import currently I can only seem to nest it below another group - makes things very messy if I keep swapping things around.
You can move items from parent to child the same as you would from bags. You can also move from child to parent by selecting the items on the right and holding shift when you click "move"

So when I'm looking at sniper and I see a 91% does that mean it's at the 90th percentile of price or does that mean it's the lowest price? You've confused me more than ever :( I'm trying to find a way to make sure that ALL my groups are in a sniper/browsing string. I sit back and do laundry while it hits and right now it won't search anything but my pets even through I have several different sniper operations. I don't care that it takes a while I just want it to search while I'm busy doing other stuff.
91% would mean percentage of price. e.g. if an item has a dbmarket price of 100g and you set sniper to search for 91% dbmarket. Any items 91g and less will show in the sniper.

I have all the operations set up but when I snipe it only finds the pet battle groups. Is this because I'm using several different sniper operations? Is there anything I can do different.
Tsm should be fine with several operations. I wonder as a test, try just the transmog group with higher parameters. See at what point it catches something.

Alright pretty sure I will figure this out by the time anyone replies. But I want to change the minimum percentage thats on the right to 20%.. meaning its on the AH for 20% or less of its market value. But the scan takes so long on my Xmog list because its loading everything no matter what the percentage it's selling for. I don't feel like I'm making sense with my comment but hopefully someone will understand me. HOWEVER, I don't want it to go off the "market value" I want it to go off the "Region Sale AVg" which is way more accurate. 20% or less sounds good, hell even 10% of what its actually worth because someone didn't type in enough digits on accident or thinks its junk and sell its for 10gold. So if you set everything to 10% or even lower like 1% you might only pick up those accidental postings if you keep scanning. Right now my scanning takes like 20 minutes in my Xmog group becuase I don't know how to change the percentage worth value as shown on the right. PLEASE help me
TSM has to look at each item regardless of what the percentage is in order to figure out what to do with it. The slowness will be down to the number of items in your group. Try splitting it into smaller groups and see how you get on or moving to a quieter zone?
Could someone give me a step by step on how to search for items on the auction house that are cheaper than vendor sell price, for flipping purposes. Sorry, I'm a tsm noob

The percentage is based on the figure that is being compared against. It will vary depending on where in the nested string the return value was valid.

It actually applies more to classic than retail these days. I prefer to do shopping scans personally though.

No it can't. You still need to click buy

You can setup different groups by ilevel and that would work.

You can add crafting as a part of the string certainly. For ilevel I would filter the group by ilevel and make sub groups.

Correct, alternatively a different profile makes it just as easy to switch.

You can make a group for that 1 specific item if you wish.
sniping is still worth? it doesn't seen that worth anymore due to changes in the auction house

Not sure why, but every import string I try to use says its invalid. 🤷♀️
what kind of string? for sniping it will be a itm string wehre u have to "import" in grp's
I would try to break down the string to see which component it coming up invalid, then you can debug from there. Do you have data for your realm?

Is Blizzard okay with this type of constant scanning of the AH? Or is this a feature that's likely to get banned in the future?
As far as I understand it, Blizzard had more of an issue with constant cancel scanning hence the changes they implemented with the throttle as it is.

Just use the Vendor Search button in the Browse tab and it will do exactly that.

As someone that was looking for info on TSM sniper for TBC classic this video is absolutly useless.
