Blizzard should look at this and realise that some class are too complicated. Ex: Rogue Outlaw Simple = more fun and keep eyes on the gameplay instead of the spell bars. I remember the days of Wrath when Mage Arcane and Beast Mastery was the easiest to play and most powerful. That was fun ! I personnaly always go for passive talent to reduce the number of spells.
I agree completely. This addon allows many people, disabled or not, play the game. It will never be as good as actually hitting your rotation yourself, but it makes it accessible to so many.

So I stumbled across this video yesterday and thought I'd give it a try. I followed this guide and got a simple Arms ST rotation going but am having a weird issue that maybe isn't an issue at all, but I'm curious. Block 1 is Charge and works perfectly. Block 2 is Rend, ditto. It's the priority queue Block 3 that unless I'm spamming the key often does nothing. So I grabbed the Icon WA and I think I figured out the issue. Block 3 has 7 abilities, Champ Spear, Avatar, Execute, C. Slam, MS, OP and finally Slam. The "issue" I'm having is I need to hit the keybind like 7 times to hit Slam if everything else is on CD. I can see the icons on the WA cycle from 1 -> 7 so just spamming the button is a massive DPS loss over just following the simple priority queue manually. So am I doing something wrong or do I need to setup the key bind to auto repeat when I hold it down somehow? Thanks in advance.
Many people will use their keyboard to spam the key. Otherwise that is exactly right, it will take that many keypresses to get to that particular spell.

Thinking this was the case I split out the longer CDs and from the short CDs and it drastically improved DPS because I only needed GSE to prioritize MS, Execute, OP and Slam. It's a more manual now, but I do about as much DPS as I did following a Hekelli rotation.

I have the latest update to GSE and all the macros are working just fine, but the /m macro creator that i put on the cast bar doesnt rotate through the different spells. Im using the ? Question mark icon but it just stays on the ? Icon. Any suggestions that might help?
Quick Question.. I don't have the pulldown for KeyUp, or even the section that says Force ActionButtonUseKeyDown State. Is there something I'm missing, as I've just reinstalled GSE today after being away for a few years.
Yeah, sorry.. That option has been removed from GSE after this video was released. There have been a bunch of changes since this video. KeyUP is the default in GSE now.
Tks so much..i was done playing wow without some kind of clickable button as the rotations are far to complicated with gcd's and other stuff. i have moderate to severe add , dyslexia and arthritis and these disabilites make it rough to play wow as it is without them shitting on disabled people more each time they "fix" the game as they call it

I have been using this macro since you created it.. along with all your other macros. My 'issue' question is that when I keybind the macro. I have 1 for ST and 2 for AE but on the hotbar both bar boxes don't have the key number on it, so when I have a quest or whatever where it uses the 1 and 2 keys they aren't numbered so when I press 1 or 2 it is like the keys don't exist making me have to mouse click the key. Also when i'm in the basic game form even tho the keys don't have numbers my '1 ST and 2 AE' work as intended. Did I do something wrong or a work-around that will key the keys numbered. Thanks for your help and the awesome macros that you create.

If you turn any of the blocks into macro blocks, the sequence will no longer be clickable. However, if you are fine with the keybind, then just change any of the blocks from spell to macro and you can then put macro commands into the block.

When I try to use Remorseless winter on DK it doesn't go off, I changed unit name from target to player and that didnt work either? How would I assign for that spell to go off? Since it is a self buff like prowl or stealth for rogue do those not work with this?
The latest version of GSE 3.2.06-a has broken this ability. The ActionButtonUseKeyDown check box is still there, but the ForceCVar State Dropdown Box has been removed. While the Macro will still work it will no longer display what current spell it is on in the Icon. If you have the WeakAura to display the spells installed it's not a big deal. This problem "may" be the result of this being a "-a" release to retail, but the GSE 3.2.06-a is marked as a retail release and it's possible it could be rolled back in a future release. I thought I would let you know about this change.

Can someone help me understand why when i use the keybind, sometimes nothing happens? There are times it follows the sequence smoothly, but more often than not i have to press the keybind 5 times in order for it to act. Am I doing something wrong?
I can't get the click function to work properly. I feel like I've double checked everything. Every time I use the click macro all it does is start attack and it does not cycle through my spells. Everything in the sequence is set as a spell, and not a macro. Any help?
In the action block, you can click the type as "Item" then in the text box under the word Item put 13 or 14 (first trinket & second trinket) then in the unit name, put target or player depending on if the trinket is buffing you or damaging the enemy.

sadly the click macro does not work when the GSE sequence has a macro in it, it does work when i keybind the GSE sequence yet i do not want that because i need that keybind on my action bar
This is correct. You cant use a /click macro if there is macrotext in the sequence. Blizzard made it so you can no longer /click macros from macros and this includes macrotext like what's used in GSE. The workaround GSE made is by simply keybinding the sequences, which then allows macrotext.
Oak it seems using spell instead of macro is the root cause of the error message BROKEN MACRO. I installed a bunch of macros and 2 of them used Spell and I got the BROKEN MACRO with both. It appears to affect the entire class no matter what the spec. I converted one to a macro and stopped getting its error message.
Using spell only sequences can be very finicky for sure. I have seen some posts on Discord about this. However, it is the ONLY way to do a sequence that can be clicked.

where do you disable your trinket ? when I use the macro in pvp it instantly uses my trinket, the old gse used to have a place to disable trinket so you can use it yourself
You can also add ogcd abilities to these /click macros. So things like Avenging Wrath or even Shield of the Righteous can be put directly into the macro if there's enough room.

I'm wondering if you or anyone else has found a workaround for the console port issue. I use a ROG Ally when I'm lying in bed, just doing casual farming, and with the latest update, I can't bind any of my sequences to any of the buttons. When I try to go into the add-on to make it use the buttons, they don't work. However, when I'm hooked up to my dock, the sequence works when I use my keyboard. I also clicked in the settings to enable virtual button mapping, but that didn't fix it.
I believe that if you follow the tutorial to make a basic clickable sequence that you can then put it on your action bar to make it work with your console port addon. The key is to not use any macro blocks in your sequence.
My question is why did Blizz do this.. was it specifically to stop macro users? not regular macros.. the WLM type of press a button and run a macro through all build spend until release. It is like they want us to keybind everything and play it that way. yeah no blizz just no.
It's more of the fact that we got caught in the crossfire when they made changes to stop the use of some private aura type things... things that raiders were using to bypass mechanics.
I've quite enjoyed building with the new gse, took me a good few hours to fine tune but im pumping about 200k more than prepatch now. The only thing thats annoying is i used to use cast sequence to gate and now it just appears to cycle. Frustrating but not the end of the world.
If you call to an in game macro like I demonstrate in this video th-cam.com/video/ChODE3vFmTk/w-d-xo.html you can still use resets in your cast sequences. If all you want is to reset the castsequence when combat ends, you can check the reset combat tick box at the bottom of the sequence editor window and save your sequence.
@oakensoul the way castsequence used to work it would stop on the next spell if it was on gcd, now it seems to cycle. Meant you could create conditional rotations I.e, casting execution sentence into wake of ashes into divine toll into execution sentence into wake of ases. Now if wake of ashes came off cd before execution sentence, it'll cast it first if you misclick.
To use @cursor you would then be required to use MacroText, which would make the sequence UNCLICKABLE and it would have to be bound to a key instead of using a macro to /click it. Without MacroText, you're limited to things like player or target and you can't use target for ground reticle type spells like sigils, so that only leave player which would drop totems or sigils at your feet.
It turns out that I had to use spell instead of macro, I don't know why if the tool works perfectly with macros when I link it to a key, but at least my problem of being able to anchor the sequence to the action bar has been solved, thank you very much.
Some macros are working some not, blocktype macro, startattack on my warrior works fine , but on the dk it does nothing on the other hand, petattack works on dk... And some castsequence macros in the blocktype macro, literally doing nothing anymore... 🤔
Startet all over again because there where so many bugs I think, wiped the old storage and now even on the warrior, targetenemy, startattack are not working in the blocktype action macro... Almost two days and still no properly working macro on gse... 😢
Ya know.... I'm not sure why Tim took the record button out... I think it's likely because of the way everything changed that he was unable to make it record your actions any longer.

When writing a sequence like in this video, the spelling of the spells has to be exactly correct. You cannot have spaces before or after the spells. Keep Trying. I'm sure you'll get it. Otherwise you can ask for help here discord.gg/G9uW8XVYC2

I dont quite understand how the "create a keybind" thing works exactly... You said in one of your vids that you keybind it to a bracket key .. But do u then have to press the bracket key to do the rotation or what?? Can you explain it further please . I have made a /click macro in game now and its working but i want to understand it better
In this sample sequence because you can use the click macro that you made, you do not need to keybind it. You will only need to keubind a sequence if that sequence uses macro blocks.

Nah, don't "need" it for ret, it just helps if you can't play due to disabilities or injuries, or... if you just want to turn off your brain and let the addon try and be your brain for you. It won't ever be perfect, but for pally, it doesn't take much to be close. lol

Ranged spells seem to have lost their range and are only casting close up in the block? Throw Glaive

Didnt have the force Cvar's in my version of GSE but checking off force key down worked. Icon doesnt change but its not an issue to me.

There is no reason to use KeyDown anymore and KeyUp is the default. Just make sure to have the "ActionButtonUseKeyDown" Unchecked. :)

I play a hunter and I was used to having a one button only macro with a modifier using Shift for Multi-shot. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to put that or how to write it. Can you please help? The sequence is going 4 blocks than resets,... don't know whats going on. also the Macro with the "click ..." is not working with me :(
I would suggest learning to keybind the sequence and use a sequence that uses macrotext action blocks instead of spell blocks.

LOL, you're not the first to ask for my UI. It's a combo of several addons. I'll get around to posting a video laying them all out, but it's not a priority at this time.

sadly the click macro does not work when the GSE sequence has a macro in it, it does work when i keybind the GSE sequence yet i do not want that because i need that keybind on my action bar
This is correct. You cant use a /click macro if there is macrotext in the sequence. Blizzard made it so you can no longer /click macros from macros and this includes macrotext like what's used in GSE. The workaround GSE made is by simply keybinding the sequences, which then allows macrotext.
Oak it seems using spell instead of macro is the root cause of the error message BROKEN MACRO. I installed a bunch of macros and 2 of them used Spell and I got the BROKEN MACRO with both. It appears to affect the entire class no matter what the spec. I converted one to a macro and stopped getting its error message.
Using spell only sequences can be very finicky for sure. I have seen some posts on Discord about this. However, it is the ONLY way to do a sequence that can be clicked.
I need frost dk WORKING macro from lvl 10 to 70 ... every time I find ANY macro and import them they do nothing ...
I haven't tried any of the ones available on discord, but if you find one, try reaching out to the creator and see if they can help.

My GSE doesn't have the option to change "action button key up or down options."
That option is no longer there and key up is the default now.

where do you disable your trinket ? when I use the macro in pvp it instantly uses my trinket, the old gse used to have a place to disable trinket so you can use it yourself
The sequence I wrote in this video doesn't include a trinket.

That's how GSE works, you have to press your keybind over and over continously.
You can also add ogcd abilities to these /click macros. So things like Avenging Wrath or even Shield of the Righteous can be put directly into the macro if there's enough room.

I'm wondering if you or anyone else has found a workaround for the console port issue. I use a ROG Ally when I'm lying in bed, just doing casual farming, and with the latest update, I can't bind any of my sequences to any of the buttons. When I try to go into the add-on to make it use the buttons, they don't work. However, when I'm hooked up to my dock, the sequence works when I use my keyboard. I also clicked in the settings to enable virtual button mapping, but that didn't fix it.
I believe that if you follow the tutorial to make a basic clickable sequence that you can then put it on your action bar to make it work with your console port addon. The key is to not use any macro blocks in your sequence.

My question is why did Blizz do this.. was it specifically to stop macro users? not regular macros.. the WLM type of press a button and run a macro through all build spend until release. It is like they want us to keybind everything and play it that way. yeah no blizz just no.
It's more of the fact that we got caught in the crossfire when they made changes to stop the use of some private aura type things... things that raiders were using to bypass mechanics.

I've quite enjoyed building with the new gse, took me a good few hours to fine tune but im pumping about 200k more than prepatch now. The only thing thats annoying is i used to use cast sequence to gate and now it just appears to cycle. Frustrating but not the end of the world.
If you call to an in game macro like I demonstrate in this video th-cam.com/video/ChODE3vFmTk/w-d-xo.html you can still use resets in your cast sequences. If all you want is to reset the castsequence when combat ends, you can check the reset combat tick box at the bottom of the sequence editor window and save your sequence.
@oakensoul the way castsequence used to work it would stop on the next spell if it was on gcd, now it seems to cycle. Meant you could create conditional rotations I.e, casting execution sentence into wake of ashes into divine toll into execution sentence into wake of ases. Now if wake of ashes came off cd before execution sentence, it'll cast it first if you misclick.
Is this bannable due to it is a 3rd party service or is it safe to use for raiding and PvP

To use @cursor you would then be required to use MacroText, which would make the sequence UNCLICKABLE and it would have to be bound to a key instead of using a macro to /click it. Without MacroText, you're limited to things like player or target and you can't use target for ground reticle type spells like sigils, so that only leave player which would drop totems or sigils at your feet.
It turns out that I had to use spell instead of macro, I don't know why if the tool works perfectly with macros when I link it to a key, but at least my problem of being able to anchor the sequence to the action bar has been solved, thank you very much.

Some macros are working some not, blocktype macro, startattack on my warrior works fine , but on the dk it does nothing on the other hand, petattack works on dk... And some castsequence macros in the blocktype macro, literally doing nothing anymore... 🤔

Startet all over again because there where so many bugs I think, wiped the old storage and now even on the warrior, targetenemy, startattack are not working in the blocktype action macro... Almost two days and still no properly working macro on gse... 😢

What are conditionals?

I dont quite understand how the "create a keybind" thing works exactly... You said in one of your vids that you keybind it to a bracket key .. But do u then have to press the bracket key to do the rotation or what?? Can you explain it further please . I have made a /click macro in game now and its working but i want to understand it better
In this sample sequence because you can use the click macro that you made, you do not need to keybind it. You will only need to keubind a sequence if that sequence uses macro blocks.

Nah, don't "need" it for ret, it just helps if you can't play due to disabilities or injuries, or... if you just want to turn off your brain and let the addon try and be your brain for you. It won't ever be perfect, but for pally, it doesn't take much to be close. lol

I'm sorry to hear that. It is different, but we can make it work. GSE had to make these changes or the addon would have stopped working completely with TWW and the Pre-Patch due to changes that blizzard implemented. :(

Maybe it's not made for you. This addon allows many people, disabled or not, play the game. It will never be as good as actually hitting your rotation yourself, but it makes it accessible to so many.
