@@smooneychad that would be great, also my planes sometimes tilt excessively to the right whenever I made them specifically in an f15 mock up I made and I cannot figure out why, do you have any idea what could cause it?
I think as of right now it's impossible without some kind of thermal/aerodynamic trickery, to test it I put a probe inside of several fairing layers and heatshields and it still melted around the same point 10-12km (it seems fairings don't really protect things from heat, at least not jool's heat.) Maybe it'll be possible later on with some insane amount of radiators, hopefully!
It's nice to see someone having fun in KSP2! :P. Keep it up please I'll be watching more. BTW, I'll be expecting a tylo gravity assist next time you enter jool! 😅 PS, it seems your craft spins at medium alt because your CoM is too far back from your CoL where the air is thick enough for drag effects but too thin for control surfaces
Does a Laythe one count? lol (going back to jool soon) I think you're right, even though the CoM I sill in front of the CoL (just double checked to make sure) it's so close that it causes issues in that particular part of the atmosphere. Can't say I've ran into that one before but I'll definitely need to figure it out if I'm gonna use this SSTO in the future!
The stock game has some very basic support for flight sticks/hotas, you can bind the Pitch and Roll axes as normal but the yaw and throttle doesn't work. I got by this by using a program called antimicrox to rebind the yaw on the flightsick itself to A+D (the regular keyboard controls for yaw) which is either all the way on or off but get's the job done done since it's just yaw. Alternatively there's a mod called inputbinder for KSP2 that let's you set everything up (including throttle) properly with no workarounds. Unfortunately whenever I use it, it stops certain keys from working like esc while in game, so beware! I hope this helps and do let me know if you have any questions! :D
I'll put spoiler warnings up for any discoverables from here out like the Tylo one! Luckily though I think you may have time to catch up as I realized that I really need to unlock the swerve to do a proper Jool 5 (Hopefully an SSTO, though that may be wishful thinking)
My planes cannot takeoff due to my jet engines randomly reversing thrust. Anyone know how to prevent this? Shouldn't a game at this price at least have working engines? Feel like I've been scammed, I can't even play the game.
Hey! You can fix this by turning off "Automatic Switching" on all of your engines on the plane, or simply putting some more air intakes. I think it's just a bit of an oversight that will definitely be fixed latter on, the feature is intended to automatically switch rapier engines to their rocket mode when they run out of air (just like in ksp1) but instead it's enabled on these more basic engines (wheesleys an panthers) causing them to switch into their only other mode which is reverse thrust or afterburner, whenever intake air drops below a certain point. (You can also link the reversers to an action group like the 1 key so you can use them on landings or taxiing). If you have any question about it lmk!
WE NEED A JOOL 5 SSTO SMOON!!!!!!! (and we also need more tlw)
Lol 😂
Actually working on that believe it or not, no guarantees! (working on getting my TLW save up to the task of recording in the background)
@@smooneychad coool, im excited for the return of tlw, got tksr´s wiki and companies sorted recently
underrated series
Really true
Smooney is absolute G, this series is amazing, he makes ksp2 amazing again btw I think next episode u can do lil chonker mission
Thanks! I may try to throw that in just for kicks if I have the time, I'd love to have 100% completion on all the missions!
:)
Babe wake up! New smooneychad video
I love this series and I love your tips you gave me on the last ksp 2 vid and they worked
Awesome! :D Hopefully I can get the time soon to put a bunch of tips in a video!

Hi Chad, I love your series and i was hoping you could try do a Jool 5 and land on Jool's surface as the end of that video?
It seems it's impossible to reach the surface now since you overheat and die first, he mentions this near the end of the vid

Also, I can't wait for the SSTO tutorial you are making :DD
this is a good video

i wated the whole seris for this episode
BIG BOI PLEN!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
I saw in a previous video you mentioned getting a new flight stick and I was wondering how to set one up for ksp

how is KSP2 less glitchy for me than for you
my pc is probably worse too
I'm on a laptop so that could be one reason why! lol
