    Beautiful Liliana. On the packet of isomalt crystals I have it says to add water and heat until 320 degrees. Do you not need to do this?

      hi, if you package says to add water follow the instructions. the kind I use doesn't ask for it. :)

      @@SugarellaSweets I did follow instructions and after 2 failed attempts I have made a beautiful bowl to go on top of my sisters birthday cake. My first attempt was perfect but smashed just as I'd finished painting the edge with silver leaf so I've learned a good lesson! Thank you so much for your speedy reply. I love your cakes. They are all beautiful xxx

    Please, did it lose shape due to gravity when you positioned it on the cake. The sugar sail I made lost it shape when it was exposed to humidity.

      @Ike Emekasunday, no, it is NOT icing sugar. In the video, both at the beginning of it (in captions while making it) and at the end of the video, she spoke about it in detail. It is a product called Isomalt, which is a commonly used product with cake decorators. You simply melt it over medium heat, but do NOT add any water or any thing to it. Stir while it's melting, but be very careful to not let any of it get on you because it's very, very hot and will cause a nasty, painful burn! She tells at the end of the video that you should wear protective gloves to ensure none of it splashes on you, because the burn it can cause will be extremely painful. The reason it can cause such a bad burn is because this product, when hot, will stick to yoour skin, making it burn even worse. She said you can also add food (gel or paste) coloring to it after it's melted, or you can paint it (with the food color or edible gold or silver) after it's set, before you put it on the cake.

      Joke Tayo, do you first beat your butter until it's very soft, creamy and much lighter in color before adding in your sugar? The longer you beat the butter, the lighter in color it gets. And it you want it to be a really white color, you can add an icing whitener to it (I use Wilton). Just don't add it to any frosting you plan to color, because the icing whitener will make the color much lighter and more pale.
