    The Siths helmet and bracers are almost certainly made of cortosis.
    Cortosis is a metal that has appeared in both Legends and Canon books and comics that has unique energy redirection properties and will cause a lightsaber to temporarily short out. This is the first time we have seen it on screen in any form.

    Qimir is the apprentice. He wants an acolyte. The master is still unknown.

      I didn't get that. He as much as said that the Jedi would think of him as a Sith without identifying as one. He's a wild self taught Force wielder who's too young to have witnessed the slaughter of witches, BUT he may have learned their secrets somehow.

      I feel like whenever the actual Dark Lord is, hopefully Tenebrous/Plagueis, will come and make him look like childs play in the final episode or something. Doesn’t add up to the legends lore at all, but they already broke that.

      @hollywoodguy70 That's my takeaway too. I feel like he's studied the Sith ways, and embraces them to a large degree, but he's learned other religions and abilities and has no use for many Sith traditions. He's his own agent of the darkside and doesn't worry about labeling it. He just wants the power to do whatever he wants without Jedi interference.

    I think it was the best episode of the series. The end of Jecki was honourable, she had a good run. I think Sol knows about the swap. He didn't ask "where's May?" he asked "where's your sister?" I also think May suspects that Sol knows. Both Sol and May need to get off-planet. I am not sure that Sol 'changed' Osha's memory, May didn't deny she set fire to the convent's home. I think there's still much of the story that we don't know, but that the characters do know.

    Sol totally knows it's not Osha. They telegraphed several times that he's both good at reading minds and influencing minds, and you can see it on his face when he gets up. Also, Bazil smells what's up. Mae isn't fooling anyone, but she is desperate. Also, you called it - Osha's been Revan'ed by Sol, and now we're about to see what actually happened, instead of Osha's altered memories.

    • @OneProtagonist
      @OneProtagonist  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If that was the case, then that means Sol abandoned Osha, which the show has established he’d never do. Trekking all the way to the ship (even if he doesn’t leave) would put her in immeasurable danger, and run counter to his character.

      I think that while i'm sad to see two great characters leave, I was kind of prepared for NO Jedi to survive this series...
      This is the twilight of the High Republic, both the Jedi and the Republic are becoming what we see in the prequels and the true golden age is sunsetting, and the Sith only get officially revealed with Maul during the Naboo Crisis... so, anyone who learns the Stanger is a Sith will have to die... As of this moment only Sol and Mae know this.
      And it does seem we are getting to revisit some legends stories on which the Jedi did a lot of questionable things, and it does seem that Sol is far less pristine than we originally thought.

    • @OneProtagonist
      @OneProtagonist  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the Sith secret will likely die with Sol. I am very dissapointed though that this series decided to show us (once again) severly flawed Jedi. Jimminy Tap-dancing Christmas! It's the same thing everyone kept doing with Superman. "Oh, we don't know how to write an actually 'good' character, so let's make them edgelord instead!"
      Can you tell I'm frustrated? 😅

    Appreciate the honest reaction! Really enjoyed this week's action, thought 'Qimir' was an impressive adversary, and though I'm sad to see Jecki in particular go (also rip Yord), I'm not a fan of plot armour either, and would rather suffer the tragedy of a promising life cut short, tbh. My issues are with the twins - what happened to Mae surrendering, or is there a specific reason for not doing so to Sol when Kelnacca wasn't an option? How did Sol not sense it wasn't Osha before they left? Despite these being explainable later maybe, I do think the writing in this show is poor at times.

    • @OneProtagonist
      @OneProtagonist  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Plot armor is definitely not something I like either , but obviously I'm struggling with the decision to kill Jecki. I'm completely with you on your points about the twins. I get that Jecki attacked Mae, which meant she didn't get a chance to surrender there (but she could have just let Jecki take her into custody!), or she could have surrendered to Sol (who actually SAVED HER LIFE in this episode). And not sensing it's not Osha... that's either a plot hole or something that needs to be explained. The next episode will have to do some legwork to make this make sense.

      @@seangargan This is my interpretation of Mae’s actions too. When she realized he was there and then saw how he just cut through the Jedi, she was focused on just getting as far away as possible, cause the Jedi couldn’t protect her. When Jecki tried to stop her and restrain her, she chose to fight back to avoid being even more at a disadvantage with the shackles.

    If you were expecting a happy ending you haven't been paying attention the day of revenge the day of the sith they had to kill everyone to keep the secret and Mae is using a dark side ability to cloak her presence much like Darth Zannah did in the Darth Bane trilogy when she infiltrated the jedi temple

    • @OneProtagonist
      @OneProtagonist  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thing is any disruption to her presence would still be an automatic "That's not Osha" alarm. For us non-force users would be like someone turning invisible right in front of us. Kind of a red flag. lol Sol has an attachment to Osha that he can sense, so if he doesn't sense that from the person in front of him, that should be it. He automatically knows.

    • @PiercedBrosmen
      @PiercedBrosmen 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@OneProtagonistI’m not sure Sol is able to sense anything at the moment. He’s not in his right mind as he is overcome with emotions. Walking back to the ship he had kind of the facial expression of a broken man.
      One thing I noticed very early on in this series, was how emotional he was for being a Jedi. He clearly had an attachment to Osha and to Jecki (and she had a strong attachment to him). Watching Jecki die like that, broke him (and me). In the final fight with Qimir he’s not fighting rationally but rather lashes out in blind rage (like Anakin with the Tuskans). And I’m pretty sure that was exactly what Qimir wanted.
      After Sol, Jecki was my favorite character and there is nothing I’d wanted more than to be able to follow her growing up, like we did with Ahsoka. But… “This ain’t that kinda movie, bruv”. As much as I hate it, this death needed to happen.
      As for Yord, I didn’t really care too much about him as he was a bit too much of a Cyril Karn to my liking (if asked, I’m pretty sure he’d admitted to doing some light tailoring to his robes 😂)

    The fight choreo in this was insane but why did they do my girl Jecki dirty like that after she got the most badass fight scene (and also Yord!!!) 😭 Plus I agree that Dafne Keen was sort of underutilized, she's so talented and I feel like she deserved to be a part of the franchise longer. Even if Jecki and Yord were always meant to be doomed by the narrative, I kind of wish the show hadn't killed them off this early. Like maybe they could've saved their deaths for the finale? Idk. I'm still curious about the questions that need to be answered, but I wish we could've seen more of them before they got the axe
    Also some other people caught this, but Bazil definitely knows Mae is not Osha, because he was suspiciously sniffing the air at the end like he could tell something was off. I think once Sol calms down he might be in a better headspace to notice too since we already know from the first? episode that he can get into people's heads. He might just play along for awhile although idk why, that's still to be determined. Osha also has that arm tattoo that he didn't like, which I hope he'll notice the absence of, plus I think Mae still has the witch mark on her head? Anyway I hope they don't make him dumb because even if he's too angry to notice the differences right now, he should pick up on them at some point otherwise you're right, it won't make sense

    I have a theory He is not a Sith (he didn't say that he was. he said the Jedi would call him one). they did play Kylo Ren's theme twice at the end, so i think he might be tied to the Knights of Ren (if he isn't REN himself. I mean he shares similarities with Ren).
    But he himself could be the apprentice, and is wanting a pupil to take on his master and so he will become the master. (still don't know why they used Kylo Ren's theme)
    I was a fan of Yord (not sure why he got hate) and loved Jecki. I think Only Sol is in the dark about the swap. I think Qimir knows.

    Yeah, I loved the episode. If I may, though… by Phantom Menace, Mundi’s line about the Sith being extinct still exists. So this incident gets buried somehow. So going in to Episode 5: Night, I had already come to the conclusion that between Ep 5 and Ep 8, they ALL had to die. So I was ready for Jeky’s and everyone’s death. It was still shocking, and I appreciated the shock factor. There is something to be said for using another episode or two to get to know her more or for her and Osha to have a deeper thing, so that her eventual death would have been more impactful. But alas, they opted for immediate shock factor, which is fine. Nevertheless, I was prepared for it, but I am sorry for your loss mate. Curious to see what happens now.
