Aaron is correct about the differences when they play Kylo's Theme the second time. It was in a different key and a slightly shifting tempo, but the note progression was absolutely identical (I play 6 instruments).

I'm still upset about it... especially with losing Jecki, I really loved her character. Dafne did a really great job. I never would've guessed losing either of Jecki or Yord. Thought i think Sol noticed that she's not Osha when he woke up.. 🤔
I've rewatched this fight over and over and I honestly think it might be my favorite choreography-wise in Star Wars. The Luke vs Vader duel on the Death Star II is still my all-time favorite, but that has tons of character drama interwoven that I love. This new Sith also has *so* much charisma in just his body language, let alone his spoken performance.
@@GreenFalcon926 I really don't think that Qimir is a Sith at all, but rather a "Dark Jedi" who the Jedi would, in their narrow-minded manner, believe to be Sith. I could very well be proven wrong in later episodes, but for the time being I think we're either dealing with a Jedi who has simply fallen to the Dark Side without actually pursuing the tenets of the Sith, OR another, possibly new, denomination of Dark Side wielders.
I still can’t believe they brought the Cortosis armor from the books and comics into live action. It’s a material that nullifies blaster shots and temporarily disables lightsabers. In canon it was seen in the novel Thrawn: Alliances and in the Doctor Aphra comics. It’s incredibly rare and even harder to refine into armor, and while it’s relatively weak against strong impacts, it can nullify blaster bolts and deactivate lightsabers temporarily upon impact.
Such a perfect episode. One of the top duels we’ve ever gotten. I like the detail of how well Sol and Jecki fight together, they play well off each other, which you’d expect from a master and apprentice
You know, there's something really compelling about a "wilderness years" Sith. Palpatine had a euphoria about him, a sense of glee about his impending victory. Darth Teeth, however, feels persecuted, forced to live on the fringes of society, basically has the viciousness of a cornered rat.
I’ve watched a lot reactions today. You guys were BY FAR the best in terms of energy, excitement, lore knowledge, plot analysis, and everything else. Thanks so much for giving us your time and this content!
Hearing Kylo Ren's motif this episode TWICE. Plus Qimir saying the Jedi would call one like him a "Sith" feels like too specific of wording. I think it's totally possible since the reveal of him was so obvious that the REAL reveal is that this guy is the first Ren, leader of the Knights of Ren. Which I think would be really cool, especially if Mae or Osha end up being his successor, I think it opens up the opportunity for that lineage of stories leading down to Ben in the sequel trilogy too. But we shall watch with great interest...
The attire gave that since the first reveal of him. The helmet and dirty arm gave that vibe immediately to me, I’m so surprised how little the knights of Ren are mentioned with this
Also got the sence if he is the Apprentice and there is still an unknown Master out there, maybe he has not been granted his "Darth" title yet. So that is why he has no name.
@@5353Jumperbut then Sol would have recognised him at the apothecary surely? But there has to be a connection between what happened on Kofar and how he meets Mae.

Thank you guys for not being toxic about this show. I’ve been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid and it’s been so sickening to see the fandom turn into such a disgusting pool of hatred. I personally think this show is fun. It’s not perfect but no show is and it just sucks to see it and other sw shows with minorities get constantly swarmed by ppl who wish they didn’t have to look at us. Seeing a group of guys that just talk about the show in a level headed way is so refreshing and I don’t know if yall realize just how much it means to us true fans.
There's definitely more to the mystery of who Qimir is and what his affiliations are. He did say "Jedi like you might call me Sith". He didn't explicitly say he identified as a Sith, and he even said he had no name for what he was.* The series was described as a dive into the underworld of dark side mysteries, so I think Osha is going to be introduced to a new cast of dark characters. I'm also still pretty sure he's affiliated with a witch in some way considering he was eating spice creams in episode 2. Dafne Keene was excellent with two sabers, and I'm so sad we'll never get a chance to see her do more with them. *Edit: They confirmed he is Sith so that was just a choice of words. Still, there's more to be known about who his master is. Always two there are.
Idk. At the very least he has to at least have been trained by a Sith. The fact he even knows the word Sith and quoted the Sith creed at least twice that I’ve heard suggests he’s not simply a dark side user invoking the Sith for convenience. Most of the universe probably aren’t even aware that the Sith were ever a thing at this point given how long they’ve been in hiding. If he’s not Sith himself there must be some pulling the strings.
Not a fan of the show but it does suck that a lot of the newest promising additions added lately are dying off (whether it be real life circumstances, Baylan Skoll, or Jeki and Yord..)
Easily a top 5 lightsaber scene in all of live action Star Wars. Say what you will about the consistency of peak Star Wars TV. But they’ve given us some pretty classic Star Wars moments across multiple shows. Every series no matter how “poor” has had its great moments.
I really enjoyed seeing Eric's just Pure Excitement in one of the best Streaming Live Action fights. I just want to give a Shoutout to Stunt Coordinator Mark Ginther, Junchang Lu & Manny Jacinto. Because it can be seen how much Love they put into this episode. Eric also, I will steal the phrase Sith-Kabob! TY The Power of 1, The Power of 2.... the Power of Manny!!!!
25:28 Vernestra is already keeping things from the High Council, I wonder if the report of a Sith DOES get back to Coruscant and she covers it up, to preserve the council’s surprise in TPM.
There could be a scene though where Yoda isnt sure about her or can tell she is lying, Yoda didnt want to spread the Sith Rumor but Windu isnt a smart jedi like Yoda is or older Jedi
@@bongzilla4172 Yeah I don't get it, usually they are so hasty to call something out if it's canon breaking or badly written, but shows like these it's like they don't care
The Kylo theme was definitely intentional in my opinion. It was note for note. Qimir also possesses similar aesthetics to the “Ren” from the comics; Gauntlet on one hand, a helmet, a sleeveless robe etc. It can’t be a coincidence because it’s too specific. Plus it makes sense for someone that wants a “pupil, an acolyte” rather than an apprentice.
Acolite episode 5 is the best star wars thing I have ever seen. These fights and choreography surpassed both the Phantom Menace movie and the clone wars episode.
This episode was fantastic. I've been enjoying the show but this took it to another level for me

When Qimir heals Osha at the end, Kylo Ren's music starts playing in the background. Therefore, it is very possible that he is the founder or a member of the Knights of Ren.
So good, thank you for not being like some other TH-camrs. This show has the BEST live action Star Wars combat, period. This episode needed to deliver and it did. Loved it.
I’m loving it too. Having so much fun watching this show. It’s really revived my love for Star Wars. It’s ok to like something a lot of people don’t like. There’s others like us that love the show too.
Erics genuine excitement and happiness throughout that whole episode is so contagious , I didn’t think I could enjoy that episode anymore than I did til I watched this reaction! With all the division going on in the fandom rn it really warms my heart knowing there’s still people like you guys that just love Star Wars like me and alot of us out there. PS if qimir is the first of the Knights of Ren that would be so sickkkk!
I am so down with this villain. It’s oddly refreshing that his motivation is just “cos I wanna”. He’s good parts threatening and silly, like evil Yoda. And he’s jacked, damn those arms.
I've seen a lot of people mentioning the whole Kylo Ren theme and helmet design connection. Maybe he has or will be the progenitor of the Knights of Ren.
Yeah, like as a Sith his name is like Darth Ren and his appearance to the wider galaxy is viewed as the beginning of the Knights of Ren and not related back to the Sith. People are misinformed about him and that covers up the Sith for now.
Mae: "How do I kill a Jedi without a weapon?" Qimir: "you see, Jedi have all these bones in their neck and if you twist them just right...that's just a little graveYord humour for you."
Weird to tell Mae not to use weapons (does that include her small knives?) saying steel and lasers won't hurt Jedi. He killed a lot of Jedi with his lightsaber.
I’m fully convinced at this point if that lightsaber action this episode did not make you feel like a kid then you’re just miserable… obviously I joke, but probably not.😂
Qimir's Plot twist was predictable, but a good plot twist does not necessarily have to be the most elaborate, the execution, presentation and what it implies is also equally or even more important, and Jacinto did it great in his dialogues, presence and corporality
I truly hope Leslye Headland and the rest of the creators/producers of this show watch this reaction/discussion. These guys have such a true love and understanding of Star Wars that enhances it so much for me personally.
The lightsaber combat was some of the best disney has done, just amazing. It stuck the perfect balance between the prequels and sequels, hopefully the person who choreographed this does future live action shows.
Easily the best live action fight we’ve had since ROTS. Dafne Keen was born to wield a lightsbaer much like Hayden was. Hope she will get to play another Star Wars character one day
RICK! Thank You! As soon as the fight between Qimir and Sol started I was reminded of Shang Tsung from MK the Movie, I'm so happy I'm not the only one!
I knew, out of all the reactors, this would be the place that would catch everything about the lightsaber fights. Best off the cuff analysis of such things. Spotted Cortsis immediately. Realized Osha was going to kite the bugs with her light. Already had a term for the Sith-Kabob. And appropriate mixed of "that was so cool, but I'm upset" when the stabbing happens. Excellent reaction and review.
Cortosis was also featured in Thrawn alliances when Anakin and Thrawn were trying to stop that factory. The metal those droids were made out of were cortosis.
Seeing you guys reaction made me love the episode even more. And Manny what a great pick to be a dark side user. As always great reaction and discussion.
so glad to see people not just absolute hate on this show but give valid opinions. the hate is seemed forced like all the recent disney shows have gotten.
@Drako_Sayre it has gotten review "bombed" more than other shows with the amount of ratings versus the actual show. Not that I care for viewer ratings anyways, but it is funny how not even 5 episodes in, "The Acolyte" has more viewer ratings than all 3 seasons of "The Mandolorian" combined. That screams more bot behavior to me

The deaths were brutal in this episode and rip to Jecki & Yord
Jecki went all out
Kinda suprised the two got killed off. I mean it's different for sure!
Straight flabbergasted
I'm still upset about it... especially with losing Jecki, I really loved her character. Dafne did a really great job. I never would've guessed losing either of Jecki or Yord. I assumed we had plenty of future stories for them beyond this initial season. Looking forward to see where they take us with these remaining 3 episodes.
The guys were joking about this being a "in the past" episode, but I could totally see the next episode being just that. We're gonna get to see what happened that night. Either in the next episode, or the episode just before the finale.
@@Renkencentry game of throned us lol

This episode blew me away. My group watch instantly rewatched the episode when it was done. Loved it so much. Manny was freaking spectacular. As was Dafne Keen.
"That was it's name?" Cold. But so good. Exactly what a Sith would do - try to knock a Jedi off by making them angry.
It upsets me more than I thought it would that we won’t be getting any more Jecki & Yord. Dafne Keen killed it in that fight, I hope she can come back as another character like Ahmed Best did.

im gkad Jecki is gone... i couldnt stand looking at that terrible makeup and head spikes 😂🥲
Same! I’m gonna miss Jecki and Yord
Fr was loving Jecki especially with all the fighting in this episode but as soon as she jumped passed Sol I knew 😢
Jekki was good in this show. Yord is one of the worst characters of the Disney era.
Show is phenomenal. I’m glad I stopped letting the internet influence my opinion blindly
Same I’m absolutely loving this show. Idc what anyone says, I haven’t loved Star Wars in a long time but this show is bringing back the love I had for Star Wars. It’s alot of fun.

Despite the mixed reception, I can see a lot of people cosplaying as the Sith Master at Comic Cons in the future.

@@joshua23_15 where exactly did I threaten anyone? You are reaching more than “The power of manyyyy” 🤡😆
He's not the Sith Master though. There is clearly another one out there, possibly the Darth.
If I was Qimir, I would be taking that helmet back, even if it is broken.

So that is why he has no name.
where was the first one? i heard the one at the end.
I mean.. people are calling him Smylo Ren.. I think people are seeing the similarities 😂😂
"You don't remember me?"
Damn. How many kids have The Four orphaned?!?!?
I was thinking his time at the shop in the other episode
@Vidaluko I think it is a lot deeper than that. Like he was a padawan, or even maybe related to Sol.
@@5353Jumperbut then Sol would have recognised him at the apothecary surely?

Agree! The choreography was amazing in this episode!

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Surprised Eric put the fighting on par with Duel of the Fates. That's great! Only Star Wars reactions I'm able to enjoy and have fun! Thanks, guys! Keep up the great work as always! Definitely enjoying the journey so far!
He doesn’t like the sequel trilogy fights or any of the Disney ones aside from a few so makes sense.
It's not in the same league as Dual of Fates. It's the best Disney have done, but it ain't that good.
He just parroting what he heard from the show runner a couple weeks ago.. this was probably about the best you're gonna get from Disney as the person above said.. but Duel of the Fates? 😂😂😂😂 nice one
its awesome seeing you guys actually enjoying it for what it is rather than nitpicking everything and being negative about it like other reactors and fans have been, not to say it doesnt have its flaws or that the others arent fans of it but you guys just really do love star wars and thats why i like you guys
God forbid people have a different opinion than you 😂😂😂
Finally, someone that enjoyed the fighting choreography as much as I did!
Damn a villian killing named characters in Star Wars. God its been so long.
Qui-Gon Jin agrees.
Seeing a group of guys that just talk about the show in a level headed way is so refreshing and I don’t know if yall realize just how much it means to us true fans.
fun fact, Manny Jacinto fought Leslye Headland to be able to do all his own fights and stunts, including under the helmet, unlike Mando or Vader
Cortosis was also in the book Thrawn: Alliances
And A New Dawn
There's definitely more to the mystery of who Qimir is and what his affiliations are.
He did say "Jedi like you might call me Sith". He didn't explicitly say he identified as a Sith, and he even said he had no name for what he was.*
The series was described as a dive into the underworld of dark side mysteries, so I think Osha is going to be introduced to a new cast of dark characters.
I didn't notice the spice creams! Good catch!
What?!!!!! I didn't notice the spice cream
I believe Quimir definitely has a sith master out there.
Absolutely shook. What an episode
As a Filipino, this proves how Filipinos are so badass at fighting scenes
I really enjoyed seeing Eric's just Pure Excitement in one of the best Streaming Live Action fights. I just want to give a Shoutout to Stunt Coordinator Mark Ginther, Junchang Lu & Manny Jacinto.

@@bongzilla4172qimir is great . Dialogues isnt great but not Qimir😂

When Qimir heals Osha at the end, Kylo Ren's music starts playing in the background. Therefore, it is very possible that he is the founder or a member of the Knights of Ren.
Except for the fact that the Knights of Ren were founded hundreds of years after this😅

Oh my good GOD I have been dying waiting for y’all’s reaction since the episode ended. Good GOD THIS WAS AMAZING
Some might say he’s the “sol survivor”
Lol
Mae: "How do I kill a Jedi without a weapon?"
Qimir: "you see, Jedi have all these bones in their neck and if you twist them just right...that's just a little graveYord humour for you."
