If this had been a show that told a story about escalating miscommunication and misunderstanding having a spiraling chain of disasters attached to it, it would have been at least an interesting story. Instead we got characters making unmotivated, seemingly random choices, and a senior member of the “good guy” organization making one of her friends a patsy for a series of brutal murders…the first of which HE WAS KNOWN TO BE AT THE JEDI TEMPLE DURING. Dafne Keen and Carrie Ann Moss deserved so much better.
10:10 What Vernestra did was buy the Jedi time. The Senate was going to vote, and while the Jedi still had the support of a number of systems, Senator Rayencourt apparently had enough support to tip the scale. Instead of being removed completely, Senator Rayencourt moved for a vote for oversight. How will that play out? We'll have to wait and see, but we can see that at some point, the Jedi are put under the thumb of the Senate by the time we get to The Phantom Menace, so this is leading up to how the Jedi got there. I figure the Jedi barely dodged a bullet with Vernestra's meeting with a few key senators and the Chancellor at the end, the Jedi likely remained as they were, separate and autonomous from the Galactic Senate. What transpires in season two could likely be the straw that breaks the camel's back and puts the Jedi under full review, as I think what Vernestra has done is going to come out, and could likely be Mae's doing. Qimir might have erased parts of Mae's memory, but she is still connected to Osha--Mother Aniseya told Osha 16 years ago that if she wanted to pull the Thread she should pull it. The thing about thread, it is still connected even after its been pulled apart; Osha and Mae are are opposite ends of the spectrum now, sure, but there is still a part that connects them to one another. What happens when Mae remembers? Will she out Vernestra and clear Sol's name? Sol did some bad things, yes, but Vernestra made it seem much worse than it was. Should they come face to face with Qimir and end him, bringing him back to the Order will show that Vernestra was a rogue Jedi covering her own tracks. It is unlikely that Qimir would ever out his master, Dooku couldn't (or wouldn't). I like how this wrapped up. They tied up the story they wanted to tell and left the door open for more. I'll miss Sol, but I'm hopefully that season two will introduce more great actors into the series! Could we possibly see Keanu Reeves or Laurence Fishbourne in Star Wars?
I have no problems that others seem to have with this series. I thoroughly enjoyed the series although some aspects need further discussion as to what was really happening that has yet to be revealed. I believe discovering what happened next from all the setups in season 2 would be worthwhile and fulfilling. Great contribution to the Star Wars franchise lore.
I am so on the fence about this show. Im frustrated because it had so much potential. Some things were really good, other parts fell so flat. Unfortunately, the weak parts of the show dragged everything else down. I think if the script went through one more draft, the story would have been stronger. I wanted to like this show so bad. I do want whoever did the fight choreography to work on everything star wars from now on. Qimir, Jeckie, and Sol were the best parts of this show.
I see what you’re saying about Venestra, but from her point of view… saying that there is 3rd Party gives the Jedi’s political enemies ammo for for taking away more of the Jedi’s power. We all still think of the Jedi in terms of how they are presented in the Skywalker Saga. That’s not the case here. The Jedi are the Police of the Republic in this Era and they very much want to keep it that way. By pinning it on Sol, Venestra shows the barest minimum of transparency that the Senator accused her of not being. She’s even willing to admit that a Jedi that she trusted and respected caused the problems and he’s been dealt with. (We the audience know the truth, but no one else does). This show did a great job of depicting the Jedi as imperfect and flawed and corrupt, much as the Samurai they are based on was.
I have so many things to say about this series. I think they had a great idea but executed it so poorly. They tried to do too much. They needed to cut storylines. They needed more and longer episodes. I don’t get why they tried to make it a mystery by omission. If they told it linearly it would have been so much better. The flashbacks shouldn’t have existed.
Some people think Vernestra was about to tell Yoda the truth, but idk. They had covered up that Mae was even alive from the beginning. So pinning it on her would have created more issues. I like the writing and the ambiguity of it. It proposes a lot of questions, and that's cool to me. Life is full of nuance afterall.
Vernestra doing that was a way to say they had a problem and they solved it, saying that there was her padawan doing bad things still free would be exactly what the senator told her, "when one of you go wild who is going to stop him?", blaming Sol is not a bad idea showing that they can solve a situation like he said, Basil was the funny character here, in the episode before it was shown that he got confused when Sol stunned Mae, it' s not difficult (not being blocked with idea that every decision they made was wrong) to see that, he saw something wrong with her and kicked her, but killing her was something he thought was wrong, as you said the hate this series goy even before started makes difficult to think that gets a second season, but sincerely it is much better than others before except Andor, format didn't help it, length of the episodes either, but it was so refreshing seeing them trying to do the same things based on the original trilogy or bad things with cool cameos
Bazil was keeping Sol from shooting Mae and going dark. 3:10 Been waiting for that. Yeah it was. 😁😁😁 Bleeding the crystal was wild and COOL. Poor Sol being thrown under the big bus like that. I loved episode 8! So glad you're feeling a bit better. Get all the rest you need! 💖
It was already out that someone with Force powers was killing Jedi so saying a non-Jedi had the power to kill them would have not have made sense to the Senate.
I liked it, it was laying ground work for a Sith story rather than about the Jedi. The Jedi actions were only the course. Yeah I hope there's a second season. I do think the way its ended with so many breadcrumbs leaving the audience questioning what happens next, they can't leave like this. So Disney sort it !
They had to do this to keep the sith a secret and show us how the jedi order became so political Qimir is either the apprentice of Darth Plagueis or he's a sith pretender in which case Plagueis is there to kill him
Wasn't Sol going to drop it until Tommen ran off...then when they met up at the fortress Sol changed his mind and went in with him? So it could be Tommen's fault...
@@42Mrgreenman Sol was a full Jedi Knight and he was told to stop the padawan. If he did what he was supposed to do everything would've been fine. They also going to continue on the planet so Sol would've found another reason to go to the village
@@gtjohns220 yeah probably, I keep forgetting sol is a senior when he gets so emotional, like the video said, I thought Carrie Anne did a much better job portaying a senior jedi...but its not Lee's fault, the way it was shot, they were definitly playing on his emotionality...

Completely agree!
I think Vernestra is pinning everything on Sol to protect herself. To protect her connection to Qimir

Hope they do something with Darth Plagueis in a form even if we don’t get an Acolyte Season 2
