When the current 308 launched, I immediately wondered, how are they going to beat this innovative and stunning design in the next generation? Well, with the evolutionary design of the new model they proved that they can be revolutionary every time. They have outdone themselves. Well done Peugeot!
Really liked our 3008 2019 model. We are definitely interested in the electric version for our next car after our Ioniq. Going to depend highly on price... Especially when a Tesla is competitive at those price points if correct.
There's a reason they are cheap. New model 3 doesn't even have indicator stalks, try indicating on a roundabout using steering wheel buttons! If the price was the same I'd go Peugeot all day long.
The other question is, do you want to finance musk's political agenda ? What do you think of him partially deactivating starlink to avoid upsetting putin ? What about his support of all the neo nazis, conspirationnists, homophobes, and all via twitter...X ? All good ?
My last fuel based car was a 2017 P3008, which I liked most of all 15 earlier cars I drove. Beautiful car, elegant inside, nice driving. I actually liked the iCockpit. After that I wanted to ‘go electric’ and ended up with the great Kia eNiro. A very good and efficient car, I will not return to fuel now, and intend to use most of the 7y guarentee period. But it stirs less emotion than the Peugeot. I fear for the price of this new 3008, but it definitively deserves another look if I would be in the market again ….
At last, some common sense i.e. thinking about range. With newer, sportier electric cars recently announced, what is the point of being able to go from 0-60 in less than 4 seconds when the car only has a range of about 200 miles, when the UK charging system is still pretty hopeless. Probably all advocates of those cars live in London and their longest journey is only 30 miles (and not sure where you can show off the 0-60 speed - probably on the M4 on the way to Heathrow to get their flight to Dubai, certainly not thinking about a holiday driving down to Cornwall). When charging an electric car takes the same time as filling up a car with petrol then range will not be an issue, but that won't be for many, many years.
The car looks absolutely fantastic. Stunningly beautiful. Great, futuristic interiors too. Peugeot have levelled up big time. That should be applauded.
For the rest of the world that speaks metric, this comes up to these numbers: 700 km range Consumption needs to be 140Wh/km (14.0kWh/100km)to get such a range. (4.4 miles / kWh)
Looks like a genuinely interesting car, especially as my lease Mustang Mach-E finishes in 2024! That leads me to one point in the review! When you mentioned the competition on range, you didn't mention the Mustang Mach-E RWD which is rated at 380 miles, and delivers well in the real world. But the Peugeot does look very interesting. Thanks for the review.

There's nothing game changing about a nearly 100kwh battery coupled with an under powered piddly motor that only drives two wheels so it can't drain that battery too fast being able to go a reasonably long distance. Props to them for the design efforts, hopefully they can make it semi adorable, but they haven't changed the game.....at all.
Indeed! Takes longer to charge, costs more to charge. The only reason why ICE cars carry so much fuel that gives them range (historically) is because refuelling is inconvenient. You actually have to go somewhere to do it.

IMO range is not the most important. And it is not acceleration either. It is the infrastructure. The infrastructure is crucial for comfortable journeys across Europe. Currently, there is only one brand that really cares about this aspect of the customer experience. I have been driving across Europe in 3 different EV, now I have fourth one (TMY) and I finally can travel stress-free. 👍
Well, I own a 2018 BMW i3 94 Ah with (only) 245 km range) and I have travelled stress free from Holland to the north of Italy and back. In fact it was a more zen experience then all the time I made this trip in an ICE care.
I’d be absolutely shocked if this vehicle ever reached that claimed mileage. Tesla model S long range is looking at around 400 miles with a similar size battery, & that is one of the most efficient EV’s out there with battery tech & crazy efficient motors. It’s also way more aerodynamic than this Peugeot. Batteries are the most expensive part of an EV too, so I can’t see this priced in the £40 k’s with that size battery - more likely in the £60 k’s. Who’d buy this over a Model Y? With way more functionality, reliability, performance in any spec, charging network & reliability, & a company likely to be in existence for decades to come, unlike Stelantis who appear doomed in their current form.
It’s possible because it is a lot slower , because just like the EQXX Mercedes claimed they could achieve the crazy 747miles because it sacrifices acceleration and power output for efficiency and range. The Tesla variants are very efficient but also are x2 faster or more than this e3008 on standard acceleration settings.
I had an ICE 3008 before my E C4 and a very good car it was too. However I really don't like those screens stuck on top of the dash. Also WHY has it suddenly become a thing to have black headlining? So depressing and claustrophobic. Renault started this in the Megane E Tech, the new Kona has it for the UK market (not apparently in Ireland and certainly not in Korea) and now this and the new Scenic. I don't want to drive around in the dark!
thats just brilliantly designed car, inside and out, definitely on my wishlist for my next electric car (hopefully by then it will be bit cheaper than that possible starting price of mid 40k)
I don't believe the official range for a second but 98 kWh should be enough to do acceptable distances between stops on a long holiday drive, which would be quite relevant to a lot of prospective clients in mainland Europe. A cabin where young kids can comfortably stay for 2-3 hour stints, without dipping too far below 20% range and thus have more options of when and where to stop to charge.
Good review of an interesting car. The key test will be how the long range version drives with all that extra weight.. Also the Stellantis group has grouped together a lot of car manufacturers that have a history of poor reliability so hope that is now sorted. Design wise it looks good
I'm from California, but I imagine we will get these re-branded. Stellantis has a big HeadStart over GM/Ford. Nice videos with proper English lass in a dress, very nice.
Kindly asking: if you post a video on a global platform and mention range, would you mind showing or mentioning it in metric too? The whole world is not only UK and USA.
Aerodynamics more affected by rear styling as well hence fastback design so air leaves car cleanly without turbulence creating a backwards drag on the car. Hence Teardrop designs. Trouble is Peugeot have forgotten an SUV was originally chosen as a large load carrier. Fastback styling ruins this practicality.
@@yitzele that’s because they are now including the space below the boot floor as she said boot space would be less in dual motor model. It is just PR spin to con you into thinking it is as good as before. It can’t have the full height over most of the boot floor like before due to sloping roof. It is design over function.
Did i miss the stated size of battery to achieve 435 miles?? I mean a vehicle that size/weight/front end is lucky to get 3.5 miles per KW at best in the summer at a reasonable speed. 435/3.5= 124KW pack?? if it's just a 100KW pack it'll only be getting 350 miles at best.
the problem with the battery size bloat , is that even if you do buy the small battery version the chassis is developed for the heavy version. so you might have a lighter car, but the frame is bloated and heavy to cope with the big battery version. They won't make two different ones. What do I want with a 435 mile range car? I still dont want to drive that far in one go. I cant fill it in one off peak time slot on Go/intelligent anyway and I don't want to pay day rates We could have two 215 mile cars instead of this I wouldn't be buying this over a model Y, who would? got to be careful pitching for luxury when so many others are too, competition is fierce and people have been going to Peugeot's cars for value. The Koreans have stolen a march on them and I dont think Audi / BMW drivers are going to slide into a Peugeot anytime soon.
I understand your position but aren’t there enough 300 miles range cares out there? I regularly need to drive 400-600 km (I’m in the EU) stretches (at least weekly often 2x) in the highway. Even in Diesel days range was a key factor for me. I long for the days of doing 1600 km between filling up. Electric mobility has some way to go for my liking.
Not sure what the rest of the country is like but around Yorkshire most of the dealerships have disappeared. I have a 5008 and it's a right pain servicing it etc

You are right, Peugeot have won many awards but then so have many other manufacturers, Audi, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Volvo, VW etc.etc. Who is to say which of these is the 'best car'? That's what makes this all so interesting and fun, they all have their own style, strengths and weaknesses. We all have our own opinions, feelings and needs about what is the best car. no rear wiper is a bummer. I've been driving around in a 408 for a couple of weeks and that doesn't have a rear wiper either. Can't see a bloody thing out of the back. Dangerous.
May I suggest in the future you touch on a few items that really matter to an EV purchaser. For example; does it offer OTA software updates, does it have integrated nav or rely on third party software, what charging standard does it use, etc. Looks and range are just lipstick on a pig when it comes to driving an EV.
Arent OTA updates dangerous for road moving vehicles especially if they have the potential to affect the drivability of a vehicle? I should think regulators should clamp down on this.
@@vs6300 OTA updates are not dangerous and do not affect the drivability of the vehicle. Drivability (ie Safety) is established by regulators prior to vehicles being allowed on the road. All cars for many years have been controlled by computers both ICE and EVs. With ICE vehicles your updates were done while your car was in for service. With EVs there’s little reason to have your car serviced and so many have chosen to copy cell phone manufacturers and provide computer updates over the air. You get a notice than an update is available along with the release notes notes telling you what is being changed or added and you you then decide whether to apply the update or not. Unfortunately, some EV makers are still requiring owners to schedule an appointment to bring the car in for the update.
@@randywhite1724 Am certain that even in the older ICE cars OTA updates were possible with a simple interface required only that manufacturers preferred to do it while servicing for quality assurance and if anything happened, they would take responsibility and even extend a courtesy car. Of course curiosity struck me on risks of OTA updates and I had to look it up on the net, and Viola, there are several incidences. This leads me to believe that OTA updates are just part of Elon's marketing gimmicks that Teslaratti promote but are really unnecessary and dangerous. Of course manufacturers will later figure out how to do this safely but I just dont get the hype about it. If car moves fine, then thats what it was made for, anything else is subservient.
I also doubt it will do over 400 miles especially in the winter where you would get roughly 250 range possibly. Interior looks good except for the mini steering wheel.
@shroomyesc When reviewing EVs I believe a few key details are important for buyers which reviewers should cover properly: Range. Battery Size. Charging Capacity. Luggage Space (Front & Rear). FWD/RWD/AWD.

Although it's still a good range, the real range is 323 miles not 425. WLTP is unrealistic.
How about you catch the train from London to Edinburgh?
So the rear seats slide back and forth? Because that centre console protruding so far back seems like a joke
We will see after a real independent road test. Looks good though!
What is the cost of the long range version? 430 miles of range is very impressive, but 98kWh is likely to make it costly
thats just brilliantly designed car, inside and out, definitely on my wishlist for my next electric car (hopefully by then it will be bit cheaper than that possible starting price of mid 40k)
I’ll get one when it’s depreciated like a lead balloon 🎈 after a year, I have the petrol 3008 now. A brand new petrol allure is £31000
When we will you be giving this a full review on the road?
435 miles would do great in the US. Hopefully Stellantis brings it over under a different mark since we don't have Peugeot
What is battery chemistry?
Good review of an interesting car. The key test will be how the long range version drives with all that extra weight.. Also the Stellantis group has grouped together a lot of car manufacturers that have a history of poor reliability so hope that is now sorted. Design wise it looks good
I like it already. Waiting for specs.
May I ask why you stand in front of the car you are presenting?
The design like vehicle beyond planet...👍👍👍👍👍
I'm from California, but I imagine we will get these re-branded. Stellantis has a big HeadStart over GM/Ford.
Nice videos with proper English lass in a dress, very nice.
Just can't get over this look
Super impressive design ❤
Kindly asking: if you post a video on a global platform and mention range, would you mind showing or mentioning it in metric too? The whole world is not only UK and USA.
Switched off when I heard the price!😳
Ginny looking extra nice here 😊😊
Absolutely Magnificent Review, Stylish and Very Modernistic
That’s just the presenter❤
Nicely presented, engaging and with good energy levels.
Impressive range with the shoe box front end. Imagine the rage with an aero front end.
Doesn't really make a notable difference. The e-niro achieves 4.5 mi/kWh easily and isn't aerodynamically shaped at all
Aerodynamics more affected by rear styling as well hence fastback design so air leaves car cleanly without turbulence creating a backwards drag on the car. Hence Teardrop designs. Trouble is Peugeot have forgotten an SUV was originally chosen as a large load carrier. Fastback styling ruins this practicality.
@@CosyP it has the same boot space as the old one
At 6:35 she says a 98kWh pack
@@FateHasWritersBlock there's also a text summary below the video
Absolutely stonkin'... cars not bad too.
Love that steering wheel on the 2008.
Nothing new. I've had a flat steering wheel like that for years. It's on my bike called handlebars. 😂
the problem with the battery size bloat , is that even if you do buy the small battery version the chassis is developed for the heavy version. so you might have a lighter car, but the frame is bloated and heavy to cope with the big battery version. They won't make two different ones.
What do I want with a 435 mile range car? I still dont want to drive that far in one go. I cant fill it in one off peak time slot on Go/intelligent anyway and I don't want to pay day rates
We could have two 215 mile cars instead of this
I wouldn't be buying this over a model Y, who would? got to be careful pitching for luxury when so many others are too, competition is fierce and people have been going to Peugeot's cars for value.
I'd buy it over a Y in a heartbeat, I hate the Y interior and love the Peugeot interior.
Not sure what the rest of the country is like but around Yorkshire most of the dealerships have disappeared. I have a 5008 and it's a right pain servicing it etc
Looking extra Stunning today Ginny cars nice too 😁😉
Peugeot are starting to make good looking cars and if those range figures are accurate, wow, it is a game changer.
As an aside, walking around the rear of the car looked like it was either the camera lens / angle or has Ginny shrunk, or..... is the E Peugeot 3008 HUGE!! 🤣
"starting to make good looking cars"....Excuse me, have you been sleeping for 10 years ? Peugeot has been making GREAT looking cars since 2014. The 508, the 2008, 3008, etc... They have levelled up big time since 2012-2014. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.
Fair enough, it's all pretty subjective.🙂
@@anonymouspdg6121 No, it's not. Peugeot have won countless awards in multiple countries since 2012, "car of the year", etc... "Most beautiful design", etc... their cars sell very well in all Europe, including Germany, Switzerland, Austria. Do some research before posting comments online, thank you very much.
The variety of manufacturers exist because they meet these differences of opinions.
There is no right or wrong, and this is how it should be. 🙂
What an amazing, stunning car!
Hi Ginny
When does Peugeot expect to be able to deliver this E 3008?
February 2024, orders starts in October
@@Tom-je8cr for delivery in Julember
Another good review. The car is impressive.
Absolutely stunning and the car ain't bad either😁
Has it still got the cat paw massage option for the seats?
Wait, is Ginny absolutely tiny, or is that car enormous??😅
As Citreon share there design platforms with Peugeot, l wonder if the slopping back design comes from the current C4. The new 3008 looks great .
And really how many miles in the winter
Peugeot are experts at interiors, I am always impressed but I am often disappointed in the electrics. We will see what its real world numbers are like and how much they have improved. I they pull it off then it is actually looking pretty good for the French car industry.
I agree that’s the next level interior. Definitely like the details when will something like that come to America? Chrysler ram Dodge all have cheap plastic interiors put together in cheap blocks of poor design.
Very honest review 👍👍😊
Stellantis own all 3 of those brands so I’m sure once they start releasing new models you’ll notice a difference.
@@CharlieGB03 I hope you’re right but I’m skeptical.
@@CharlieGB03 That might not change much because it's a matter of price, Chrysler Ram and Dodge are pretty cheap cars compared to Peugeot overpriced models
when and where is there going to be cheaper cars less than 30, popund love the look mof the peageot e3008
No rear wiper?
If it really does the miles 👍
Unless its super efficient, which I doubt, I think it will get around 380 miles at 3.8 miles per kwh.
Meaning the average motorist will only have to change it once every fortnight
I hope Peugeot gets it priced competitively.
Why dont they make this available in USA ?
It looks great. Isn’t it funny that digital displays/screens (and TVs) are still measured in inches (not metric). Two important questions: towing limit? And how dog-friendly is the boot? There aren’t many EVs with decent room for my golden retriever!
Just bought 2 days ago I am so impressed better than Tiguan
Hyprid
Welcome EV choice - E3008 looks very good compared to competition - price will be important
Seems like a step in the right direction but underwhelming compared to the Fisker ocean, especially regarding starting price
I didn't see a rear wiper?, or do they claim that due to the aerodynamics it doesnt need one?, rather like MG who are now fitting them.
Good review, and good looking car.
no rear wiper is a bummer. I've been driving around in a 408 for a couple of weeks and that doesn't have a rear wiper either. Can't see a bloody thing out of the back. Dangerous.
But why oh why did they change the Peugeot badge???
A game changer for me is something that costs less than £35,000
Can Peugeot send this to California, please?
Looks huge.
neat and sporty look. important delicious
I also doubt it will do over 400 miles especially in the winter where you would get roughly 250 range possibly. Interior looks good except for the mini steering wheel.
The small steering wheel is excellent. Just takes a bit of getting used to.
Magnifique, aussi la voiture
Does it have a frunk?
(Boot at the front)
I'd guess nah cause it'll also have ICE engine options and car makers say nobody uses frunks so they're often skipping them altogether
@shroomyesc
When reviewing EVs I believe a few key details are important for buyers which reviewers should cover properly:
Range.
Battery Size.
Charging Capacity.
Luggage Space (Front & Rear).
FWD/RWD/AWD.
