    FULL PREVIEW: www.electrifying.com/reviews/...
Having launched into the electric car market with a range of fine but hardly outstanding electric cars, Peugeot is finally getting into gear. The brand is about to wheel out a new generation of electric cars that promise longer ranges, faster charging and more practicality. The first model to arrive is the new E-3008, which will be the first electric Peugeot to offer more than 300 miles of driving range.
This is the first Peugeot 3008 to offer an all-electric powertrain and slots into the brand’s range above the recently updated E-208 and E-2008 models. Unlike its siblings, however, it’s based on a new set of underpinnings that have been developed to maximise the potential of an electric drivetrain.
Where all previous Peugeot electric models have been limited to a 51kWh battery pack, the E-3008 can accommodate a much broader range of packs, with the launch 73kWh battery set to be joined by a larger 98kWh version with a potential driving range of more than 400 miles.
While this is the first battery-powered 3008, there have been two petrol and diesel powered models before it. The first was an oddly egg-shaped thing, but the second one, introduced in 2016, gave Peugeot huge impetus. Its handsome crossover looks and innovative high-quality interior helped net 1.3 million buyers.
The new platform that sits underneath the new E-3008 will also go under a huge range of future cars from the Stellantis Group. Everything from sporty Alfa Romeos through family Citroens, DSs and Lancias to hardcore off-road Jeeps will eventually be based on the E-3008’s underpinnings.
Join Ginny as she puts the Peugeot E-3008 to test for the first time. Do you agree with her verdict? Is the E-3008 on your shortlist? Let us know in the comments below.

French people don’t have coffee (or pretty much any food and drink) out and about. They have it in a café or a restaurant; in France you have food and drink at a table. Cup holders are therefore culturally virtually insignificant in France. And one could say that that’s not taking into account the fact that the car will be sold in lots of countries where that’s not the case, where cup holders would be useful, but then that wouldn’t be very French either!

Be careful with efficiency and recharge, the Scenic is basically a bumped up Megane, and the latter is inefficient and has unrealiable charging, leading to long, uncomfortable trips. It usually arrives more than 1 hour later than competition in long trip tests done by French youtubers.
If you don't plan to travel with the car, then of course you don't have to care.

Apart from all that absolutely terrible piano black in and outside the car, it actually looks great.
But as Peugeot seems to be doing in general these days, it's priced way too high.
Peugeot needs to start looking into the reason why they don't sell any higher numbers of electric cars than they do.
They overcharge for cars that has less function than the rest of the markets, in terms of charge speed and horse powers.

When did everyone in the Uk get a Massive pay rise !!!!!
It’s a Peugeot not a BMW or Jaguar & before you choice a colour or any options it starts at £46,000 & that’s the small battery one lol 😂
Has anyone else noticed that Ev’s are not getting anymore efficient !!!!!!!
Or That the battery tech since 2014 isn’t really getting people much more Range.
I saw what cars new video the other day & even the new Tesla modep 3 highland long range has only really got maybe 10 more miles more than the old version & remember the new highland version is more aero & has better more aero wheels plus is lighter apparently.
Battery tech doesn’t seem to be improving too much regarding range & charging speeds.
I hear how the media has put out so much fake news around EV’s
But Ev company & other also mis things out.
They fail to tell you on home chargers you could lose upto 15% of the electric you are paying for to charge your car be lost in just the transfer & conversion process.
Preheat before you leave for better efficiency is good but it costs you money , how much !!!!!
Preheating on a journey to rapid charge so your car charges quicker , how much does this cost !!!!!!
    Anyway back to the point
What is the percentage of the uk who can comfortably afford to buy this car on a normal HP or bank loan.
Even if Peugeot gave you 5 years at 0% finance deal it would still be around £600.00 pm with a £10,000 deposit for the 60 months.
And based on today’s prices you would be lucky at the end of the 5 years this car was worth £8000 !!!!!!
As today you can buy a 2021 Peugeot E 2006 GT Premium top spec with just 8k miles for as little as £13,000 & this car isn’t even 4 years old yet. Crazy price drop.
Look Ev will only help save the world 🌎 if people can afford to buy them plus if your going to want to save the world anyone that buys one should be forced to keep it for a min of 10 to 15 years as the production of these are slightly worse for the environment

The reason that they're not getting any more efficient is because the drivetrain is already ultra efficient, Tesla has already optimized almost everything else that effects range(sans weight), so until they get lighter batteries it's really hard to optimize it even more.

I have no idea. The bricklayer who built my extension a couple of years back, said he can earn £2500 on a good week. He said a bad week ( due to crap weather etc) was £500 to £600..... that said, I never saw anyone graft like he did. On one particularly warm day I offered him a large tin of Carlsberg lager in a pint glass. He downed it in about 3 seconds. His labourer could barely keep up with him, supplying him with blocks and mortar.....

I don’t believe it will come close to 400 miles. Do the maths, it will have to achieve the kind of efficiency figure that EV’s just aren’t close to yet. And it would have to do it regularly. Personally I think the previous gen was a better resolved design. This looks clumsy and they’ve compromised it for aerodynamics. And in the end, the actual car is so so. I owned a previous gen 3008 and although the driving position was for me so uncomfortable I thought it was trying break my back and the interior quality, when you lived with the car, was actually disappointing, I thought it was still a desirable car, one that moved Peugeot on.

The 'radiator grill' is too big, the headlights too small, the nose is too long for an SUV, the sloping roofline makes it look really small and the wheel design is simply rediculous (just my personal opinion of course).

    • @bullshitbingo2259
      @bullshitbingo2259 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

lol you have no clue. The weight does not matter that much, aerodynamics and efficient drivetrain components are more important. Second, we are talking about WLTP numbers and it is helpful to understand how they are measured.
At lower speeds rolling-resistance matters the most. Here the weight does play a big role. However, the consumption figure can be altered by low rolling resistance tyres and by energy regeneration. The WLTP test cycle at lower speeds simulates a city/countryside usage and you have lots of energy regeneration phases because of simulated breaking at traffic lights etc. Actually a higher weight helps to regenerate big portions of the energy back into the batteries here.
For the highway test cycle the air/drag resistance is the most important factor and the weight of the car does not matter that much. The e-3008 has quite a low drag coefficient for an SUV, it is actually a SUV Coupé with a nice curved roofline + it uses high quality components for the drivetrain and battery components, so even at higher speeds the consumption isn't outrageous.
= 4.4mi/kWh is doable in the WLTP test cycle. In real life 4mi/kWh seem realistic.

  • @nssimpson

    • @Felixmax507
      @Felixmax507 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

All other ic cars are gone more expensive not because of technology. It is because they want you to choose electric car as electricity is supposed to be cheaper but it is not. You lose a lot of money in depreciation. Cost of baterry replacement is extortionate and insurance doesn't cover all cases. If you want to avoid problems you need to keep eV cars shorter. So you spend much more money. Cost of cars is not a problem only in UK it is all over the world. All tax incentives are slowly withdrawn all over the world and eV with decent range are not cheaper. You are swindled in many clever ways. You can enyoj acceleration like you are in Ferrari all reviewers point out like before we all drove Ferrari.
