  • Peugeot has revealed the all-new 3008 coupe-SUV in fully-electric E-3008 guise. It's part of the French company's drive to offer an electric version of every model in its product range by 2025, and to be selling nothing but electric cars across Europe by 2030. There will be hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants of the 3008 which follow the fully electric launch cars.

Distinctive in a sea of same same designs. Purposeful, aggressive but still elegant and definitely some French flair. Can't really fault it. Then the interior is another level altogether. I'd actually buy this.

Agreed, stunning design and all, but it's the real-world range that's going to be the make or break for many potential buyers. Fingers crossed they've not just focused on aesthetics but also practicality. 🤞

Interesting point about the square corners; never thought about it that way. A beautiful car can become an expensive fix if a minor scrape turns into major panel damage.

This should have more than enough real world range for most people, assuming they can charge at home, then it should be no real issue.

My 2 2008s (last and present styles) have both been excellent. Faultless cars. Efficient. Quick. Solid. Looks great, especially the present version. Peugeot, and Citroen/DS, are nailing everything ... get the range and it is complete.

Don't understand Stellantis' thinking on batteries.
First they gave their cars batteries which were too small at 45/46kw usable capacity, now they give their latest vehicle too big a battery, which is going to have a serious affect on the price.
The sweet spot seems to be 55-60 kw usable, for a +320km real world range, while keeping costs for new car buyers, if not affordable, at least not stratospheric.
Yet another SUV type vehicle which automatically uses more energy because of weight and aerodynamics. Thought the point of ev's was to save the planet. The increased energy consumption caused by large and heavy SUV style vehicles is negating the benefits they bring. Pity.
Tesla have shown that it is possible to have a lower slung car with good efficiency and reasonable looks and a reasonably sized battery, but still giving over 320km real world range, that can tow and take a roof rack. If the Model 3 was a hatchback, it would be almost perfect. Aerodynamics is the key due to the lack of height reducing frontal area and overall surface area. along with lower weight achieved by less metal needed for the lower car and a smaller battery then required to achieve the same range as the taller and heavier SUV.
Even the e308 which should be more efficient due to its lack of height will likely have too small a battery in real world range and probably won't have a tow rating. When is that car ever going to be released?
If MG can provide a 500kg tow rating for its smaller vehicles, surely Stellantis and the other legacy manufacturers can do the same?
The e3008? A nice enough looking car, but it needs the big battery to achieve the big range, instead of using aerodynamics with a smaller, cheaper battery to achieve the same range. ach

At the end of the day i think it will all come down to price versus how much km in real traffic can you make whit it. If the 700km will get you a 500km in real traffic condition and the price is around 50-55k then it will be a hit in sales.

Hmmmm, love the Peugeot design for the last 8 years, I think is the industry unique! Especially how they reincarnated a lion fangs and claws with their LED's lights. Others are copying but they just make me think hey look its another Peugeot, since they are not "lions" it doesn't make sense to have fangs. However, I think Peugeot started loosing it a bit. Every new model has a flaw when it comes to design, I am not 100% satisfied although I love it still. It's maybe 5-10% of design I don't like. This one e3008 headlights are crooked, I don't like it at all. Bring bang one fang per headlight, a straight line. I think the best design was in 208 gt. and 508.
I am just talking about DRL :) and general incorporation in design.

A lot of details we recognize from Opel appear here, that's positive, but there are still too many annoying "Peugeot" details, very impractical, and not well thought out solutions.
We will have to wait for the "well-thought-out" version, the Opel Grandland, which will offer what those who use their heads want.
Front and rear square straight corners are designed by someone who has never seen a parking damage.
If you touch an obstacle with a sharp corner, the car will "get stuck" on the obstacle, and the panel will be crushed, a rounded corner will cause you to "slide past" with only damaged paintwork.
This square straight corners is a very stupid impractical design.

It'll be interesting to see if they manage to paint those sharp corners properly too. Judging by my new-shape 208, paint coverage can be hit and miss in some corners (by the headlamps especially). The shut lines are none too precise either on some 208s.

Gigacasting is the future like Tesla shiws, and many Chinese brands, 600 parts less, 50% lower production costs etc etc. If Stellantis will not follow Tesla, Chinese and Toyota in this, they are finished... .

Internal combustion cars are much more likely to explode or catch fire. They literally run on mini explosions that are constantly being contained and controlled. Electric car prices are going down but still high, electric cars tend to hold value better as they require less maintenance.
