What happens if you fund your account with gift cards but you don’t use all the on board credit? Are you able to get the money back? Or does it go to a Carnival account in your name? Or is it forfeited? How does that work?
@@brandywinetyson8115 if you have onboard credit that was issued by Carnival when you booked your cruise, it’s use it or lose it. If you put your own cash or gift cards on your account, that’s your money and you can take it back out at guest services or the Sail and sign kiosk. Anything left in your account over $10, a check will be mailed to you. Anything under $10 gets donated to St. Jude.
If I wanted to set up a cash account at check in, I would have to put the money on my account at the cruise terminal before boarding. Can I put gift cards on my account instead of cash at the cruise terminal?
Yes, if you are an AARP member you can buy gift cards at 10% off. I just purchased 3 $100 gift cards for 270.00. I can either purchase cruise cash online, put them on my account at a kiosk onboard or take them to guest services and have them apply them to my account.
@@melissameyer6726 that’s what I would do, but the gift cards at a discount, then go online on Carnival and apply them to your account using cruise cash. There is also an option to apply it straight to your account when you check in.

They are on all the Carnival ships that I have sailed on.
