This introduced Ra's Al Ghul to a much wider audience and elevated the character and led to incarnations of the character appearing in later media such as Gotham, Arrow and of course most famously Batman Begins. However his name is meant to be pronounced, he's become a well known villain of the DC Universe because of BTAS and David Warner's voice. :) And perhaps Damian Wayne owes his existence to the increased popularity and awareness of the Al Ghuls this show helped do. :O
I am so excited they made it to Ra's. This was my first experience with the character and his lore. This was one hell of an intro. Ra's comes into the Bat Cave already knowing Batman is Bruce Wayne and prove he is his intellectual equal. This was.pre Damien Wayne too. We won't get that for this series, but on the plus side it is before Talia became super evil. I do like her relationship with Bruce here.
Hardcore classic Batman. Battling one of his finest foes, face to face for the first time. The late David Warner as Ra's Al Ghul and Helen Slater (the original Supergirl) as Talia are perfectly casted since their first episode on the series. The action, suspense and drama just fits as it should. Denny O' Neil's contributions to the comics with Head of the Demon and his daughter always intrigues me. Part 1 was great. Part 2 is no joke neither.
This is one of my favorite episodes because it's a really good adaptation of the classic comic, David Warner is phenomenal as Ra's al Ghul (on par with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil) and the Batman/Ra's/Talia dynamic is in top form here.
Great 2-parter; David Warner is eternal in this role. Being an international foe, Ra's usually sends Batman on a journey outside of Gotham to catch him. I like him best when the two of them are uneasy allies playing off each other's smarts rather than enemies, but of course their worldviews can't be reconciled. Ra's is far too old to ever change.
Fun Fact: despite Ra's al ghul saying that he wants Batman to take over he does have a son, Dusan al Ghul. He is the older brother of Nyssa and Talia and goes by the title "The White Ghost".
"Who would win, a bat or a cat?" made me think of the Terry Pratchett line "Vampires have risen from the grave, the crypt, and the dead, but never from the cat."
0:38 they're gonna be so disappointed when they learn that out of all 300(ish) episodes and 6 movies that the DCAU comprises of Mr. Freeze only makes 5 total appearances. I felt that disappointment too, he's my second favorite BTAS villain after the Joker.
This 2 parter is my single favorite episode of BTAS!! David Warner’s Ra’s is as iconic as ConRoy’s Batman for me. As soon as I saw you guys were doing this series I’ve been waiting for demon’s quest. Can’t wait for you guys to get to part 2!!
Honestly, Ra's is my favorite villain from the show. mentally he's on par with Batman. and like most of the villains he has extraordinary depth to his character. Not really being ultra evil, and having an arc to his story.
Sup Blind Wave Crew love your channel and reactions to cartoons like Batman, and Young Justice, btw how come you havent done reactions for Phantoms or S4?
Wonderful reaction recommendation... Time after Time (1980) with Malcolm McDowell, Mary Steenburgen and David Warner. H.G. Wells chases Jack the Ripper through time to modern-day San Francisco in a time machine he built.

Man i want to be a member of the Blind Wave crew!!! David Warners Iconic voice will be missed!
It’s awesome how this episode was written by Denny O’Neil, the comic writer who created Ra’s to begin with
Oh wow I didn't know that!
They straight adapted the issues that it’s based on
David Warner's voice as Ra's is so synonymous with the character for me. I can't look at the word "detective" without hearing his voice.
Same
Yeah it’s him and guy who voices Ra’s in YJ
same

David Warner is a master of bringing villains to life, with Ra's being a really great example! May he Rest In Peace.

3:09 David Warner. The Voice of Evil. Every kid who grew up in the 90's knows him the second he starts speaking.
"Who would win, a bat or a cat?" made me think of the Terry Pratchett line "Vampires have risen from the grave, the crypt, and the dead, but never from the cat."
Didn't help he was dealing with a "Fiend from hell". lol

The blind wave crew must watch Mr bean😂😂😂
I love this two-parter
this was my first intro to Ra's and it is a great portrayal
David Warner the voice of Ra's was the TGRI scientist in Ninja Turtles 2 Secret of the Ooze I always remember that voice lol
Honestly, Ra's is my favorite villain from the show. mentally he's on par with Batman. and like most of the villains he has extraordinary depth to his character. Not really being ultra evil, and having an arc to his story.
