First most of us that sounds like a dream job but I have worked retail for 35 years so I know it is a lot of work. 80s had so much amazing music with college radio, one of my favorite times!
Nice, mostly go for the used stuff but will have to pass by if I’m ever in the area. Odd name choice for a my store to name themselves Sold Out though…
I wish I had room for concert posters Michael, I could really get into them! Are you having a relaxing summer? Finding any good finds in your digging? You are one of the best diggers I know, you tend to find gold while I find pyrite lol
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Working a lot and studying too. Just got back from Traverse City. I found some good finds, but it’s not like before. Mainly enjoyed the equipment from 45rpm. I’ll fill you in later on the records.
Nice store well stocked with records , your such a professional showing these stores. Glad you found one close . How was prices ? The Steven Wilson with black cover is one I’m looking for . Posters were cool. Does he sell on discogs ?
Great tour Steve. I notice the cheapies were under the browsers, oh my aching back! Those framed posters were amazing. I’m sure they would break the bank. Just remember, it’s all right to browse on your lunch hour, you don’t HAVE to buy anything 😁😁. Cheers.
I have done pretty good not buying much at r3cord stores Jack. Honestly I just never take enough time to browse through the racks. I think I just need to slow down at times.
Mike, luckily I eat at my desk, takes about 2 minutes and then I start working again lol. It was a nice store but a lot of new and I really like finding used treasures. That said I have gone back, found one album I have yet to meet the owner. Slowly hitting smaller record stores in my travels.
Hello Steve; Sold Out, but still in business. The store looks clean & well stocked. Like the accompanying musical soundtrack. Nice collection of vintage stereo equipment. Hope you found some much needed vinyl. Prices are always an issue when buying. Take care, Tina & Pat!~
Weird isn’t it. I go into the store expecting empty shelves because they are sold out and instead I found packed bins, what the heck! Glad you liked that music courtesy of YT, sometimes it is crappy but this was some nicer stuff for once. I didn’t buy much but enjoyed myself
Sold Out Records is in fact rather well stocked; cute little 8 track players, haven't seen those as a stand alone component before. My parents had an 8 track deck as part of our old home stereo, two tapes that used to get played were a live Beach Boys one from England (with some awful, awkward stage patter between songs but the music was good) and a surf compilation, I distinctly recall that First Class - Beach Baby was on it. Thanks for the tour Steve
Kind of weird, you walk in expecting an empty store as it is Sold Out records and instead find a jam packed store. Pretty confusing My dad bought a stereo that had a 8 track player, I was so excited. I never did buy an 8 tracks and he sure has heck never bought one so it was never used. Glad I never got into 8 tracks Doug
PØSTERS? Are they Danish/Norwegian? 😆 Wonderful posters Steve! Oh, I would So want that Eddie Vedder one. The Stones one from San Francisco was nice too! Just had some bad news here. Sleater Kinney cancelled the Scandinavian leg of their tour. I was so happy I was going to see them finally in July 😢 Great looking record/poster store 😊 Thank you for letting us come with.
Odd on SK canceling the beautiful Scandinavian countries? Any idea why? Ticket sales? The posters were crazy at this place, I wish I had room for them Morten
MY COLLECTED 500 ALBUMS FOR THE COVERS FROM 1973-1983 NEVER PLAYED MOST OF THEM .. JUST PUT NEW OUTER INNER SLEAVES ON WHEN I BOUGHT THEM. NEW ALBUMS NOW .. WHAT 2 DO?
You are a person who bought the album for the art, I get that. I did not convert to CDs until 1990 when I could no longer find vinyl. I took forever because I liked the large art on an album, it was great to look at. I still front face an album in my bins to so I can see the covers
I do find a lot of RSD in my travels Dom. All these albums that were suppose to have sold out keep showing up. Even my store back in Midland was able to get albums that had become hard to find. I guess they keep finding boxes in the warehouse
Steve, I do like it all put together so I can see everything all at once but that is because I do buy a lot of new. I will pass along your thoughts to the mgmt as you are The Zonkman!
Broke Again! To be quite frank, Bob Frank that is, a title nearly everyone can relate to in more than one way. Nice Snoop on Craft if you like that kind of rap, those years are still in my audio tolerance wheelhouse. Kool Kiss selection. Great gear! Could spend a lot of time at a store like that. Glad you found a store close by your new home.
Steve it is always interesting what people see when I do these flips. So often I pass stuff and I got people watching questioning my sanity The stereo equipment is always interesting. I am by far no expert I just like stuff that looks cool, a big fan of lights lol. I know a ton of people like Kiss so I do that for the masses!
Reminds me of my college days in the '70s. When I first got upset that records were getting expensive… (I got a kick a few months back while at Barnes and Noble looking for movies and guy walks in, sees all the vinyl, and goes "whoa 80's flashback". So true.) Still have my old vinyl but it sounds old… here a snap there a crackle everywhere a pop pop click… or occasionally worse. Doesn't seem to have travelled well, as I took good care of it at the time. Don't see ever buying any more of it. Also why I latched onto cds right from the start (for the most part (there was a short revisit late 90s early 00s to nab some free jazz classics that never made it to shiny disc)), as vinyl was being pressed so poorly/noisily back then during the oil crisis, and cds are what I pretty much stuck with. Still cds and now also some hi-res downloads here and there. I want to hear the music, not the grooves. I used to live in Englewood, still head out that way once in a while…
So many people are moving to CDs, takes less room and you can get a lot more music. I have visited a few record stores where they now have more CDs than albums. It is easier and cheaper for them to get and the customers are buying it up. I had 1000s of CDs but lost them in the flood so when I started over about 4 years ago I went vinyl.
LAUFEY you stopped there I think you should give her a listen she has done good records. And I made comment to your Punk video Two Guys talking about records... head over there and see :)
Thanks for watching that podcast. I need to answer those comments. I have fallen so far behind in doing that. Even playing records doesn’t seem to happen much but come fall I will have a ton of time!
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 yeah he has some cool pieces, but the shop was super ultra claustrophobic small when I went, and the prices to me were at or slightly above top dollar, except his new bootlegs that were under $30. Yes, Angelo's on South Broadway is like the old Independent Records vibe-wise. They have tons of vinyl downstairs. Every so often you will find a gem in their used 45/woodpile area. Some out of print rock posters in the back upstairs (licensed and non) and lots of knick knacks. The pricey and rare vinyl is behind the counter upstairs however. You should also check out the 80's/90's store across the street ("5280's", it is awesome), but make sure to check the hours of both before going. The Angelo's in Aurora used to be ok, last time I went it was a lot of closeout junk (like hippy blankets and incense burners) and it did not have a good selection of rock (but we all know in record stores that can change daily). Hope to see a review of the South Broadway Angelo's soon on your channel!
Most are, put RSD on it and Jack the price up. I did find some that are are reasonable and some store have put them on sale to move them out. Most places just keep them for years
They did have a lot those dividers. It does help,if you’re in a hurry like I often am. I can scan for groups I am interested in quickly and then move on. It is a hassle to keep organized though
Hi Steve, cool store with lots of vintage equipment. Everybody is going crazy over the Wall of Voodoo release. I’m going to have to seek that one out. There are four record stores within 2 miles of my home; not an ideal situation for my wallet. 🪪
Wow that is amazing to have that many stores so close and then you help out in one shop. I’m just always to exhausted to go but that is getting better Mark. Now it is about budget as we try to adjust to living in Denver and what we can spend. For the most part I have slowed down in part to not having the Vinyl Douche getting me to buy records lol
Love your Record Store videos!! New area! New Stores!!
Thanks Dave, I’m slowly getting some time to see what is out there
Great record store Steve. My local record store is the internet.
Nothing wrong with the internet, you can get everything you need Ken!
Brings back memories starting out working in a record store in 1980 and up to 2011 in CDs. The 80s were awesome.
First most of us that sounds like a dream job but I have worked retail for 35 years so I know it is a lot of work. 80s had so much amazing music with college radio, one of my favorite times!
I love record shops like this. A little bit of everything. Nicely setup. As always enjoyed the video. .
I do like a place that is well organized Tony. I always seem to be in a hurry so I like to understand quickly how things are laid out
Interesting, never been or had even heard of this place. Will have to check it out sometime.
It is newer Tyce and close to work, if you like poster I highly recommend it. More new than used I felt but still nice store just a little too tight
Nice, mostly go for the used stuff but will have to pass by if I’m ever in the area. Odd name choice for a my store to name themselves Sold Out though…
Concert poster can be highly collectable, especially if the art is really special. Glad you found a local store Steve!

Looked it up and it wasent the one I’m looking for. It’s ultravox ep that Steven Wilson remixed.
Art, he does sell on the internet but not sure about discogs. Prices were okay, but not great. It was very organized which I really liked

Oh dear……only a mile away! Disaster…..it’s gonna be expensive! Great selection Steve, really good store, I’d love to go there. Mike the wannabe

I know of another record store only 4 miles away next to a place that makes great empanadas!

They even have 8 Track Players ! Nicely stocked store & love all the bincards. Potential for grails seems excellent 👌.
They ready did a great job with bin cards. My only issue was the bins were very tight so browsing was not easy to do David
Very organized and not overly curated as you still find a Kenny Rogers Lp there.
Very nice store, a little bit tight but they had a very good variety

Nice little store, seemed like they had a nice mix of things. Broadway has got nothing on Downtown.
I grew up up with the song Downtown! It was all over the radio along with every kind of Herb Alpert song! Ah, Tijuana Taxi.

Should be "Souled Out" like the Tower Of Power album.
lol, now that is an awesome name! I love that.

I get sticker shock everytime I see new record prices.
Haha and it’s not getting better my friend. I don’t have nearly as many records coming in anymore because of that Dave
I wouldn't go back there. Such blatant liars. Clearly they had not sold out of vinyl records. Good of you to expose them to us.

Pasi, I was so confused to find records also. I asked to see their sold out bins and they couldn’t show me a single one
