Love this shop ! I read your comment to Mark.. Circle Jerks would have been the one to go home with ! I hear there's a good record store up in Cheyenne ! 😊
JT, you just never know what you will find. I almost bypassed this shop as it was mostly metal but I figured lots of people who watch my channel love metal. MoFi Gerry Rafferty made my day
Hey Steve, great video. That store was stacked! I notice One Step Beyond by The Chocolate Watchband and Quebec by Ween… both high on my wantlist. Great stuff, Jack
That store looks like it would be a metal fan's dream! I believe Neil has released almost all of his concerts legitimately in his archive series. This makes the bootlegs obsolete.🤔 You passed up Silverchair - Frogstomp, a great grunge album by a bunch of teens from 95! Well done on picking up the Mofi. That's one of the few metal albums I own, classic Ozzy. Have a great week, Steve.
I use to have Silverchair in CD, it was pretty good. It was the Circle Jerks alum I wish I had grabbed. It was a neat shop Mark I really considered the Young bootleg but then figured how often do I listen to him, not that often so I showed self control!
I’m telling you Michael, strange things have been happening, unexplainable things like missing keys, floating records, goat sacrifices, so many weird things since buying Lucifer’s Friend. I’m really not his friend
Good morning Steve. Looks like a nice shop. Definitely good for metal collectors. Where you contemplating the Ben Folds album? Some people love City To City. It was sent to me via the VC Love Train. Very good songwriting. He was a talented guy. I have "Repercussion" by the DB's. Excellent band. Way to go Steve~ Rob/Boston
GM Rob, yeah me in a metal store, talk about being lost lol. They did have some cool stuff but it was the prices that I appreciated. I thought about that Ben Folds, I had had it on CD but it was not my favorite of his. I saw some others things I liked but the MoFi blew the budget…okay what budget lol
Mike, well done on leaving Silverchair behind 👍I have a few Normals 7"s. Not sure which one though. That Db's comp is great. I also have a copy of Stands For Decibels. Great work Mike. Cheers...Mike
You know Mike, another person questioned my sanity for leaving that Silverchair behind! Now I conflicted on what to do but the other person was not a Mike so I will go with you on this. The Normals, I have music from two groups of Normals, one from Sweden and one from the US. I saw two more with that name. I guess it’s a normal name to use Mike I love the early Db, a little rougher and tougher sounding! Have an awesome week Mike
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Mike to avoid confusion I was very much in the negatory for purchasing Silverchair. I don't want a fellow Mike lumped with that wanna be grunge crap. Add to your Scientists collection instead I say. Cheers...Mike
That is the beauty of doing a flip Tim, I can then learn about all of the albums that I missed that are great! Have you ever been to this store? Slowly making my way around the city hitting places. Going out with another YT Saturday to hit Wax Tracks.
For a second I thought you were wearing a New England Patriots Flying Elvis hat! 😂 I guess wishful thinking you were a Pats fan! Chain Reaction seems pretty cool, I do like my share of punk and metal. Cheers 🎶🎵🎸❤️🍻🎼
OMG Matt, a Pats fan? Go Lions! My wife is from Brockton so she is a Pats / Lions fan. This store was very good, I almost did not go there are I don’t do metal but I do like punk. Got a great deal on a Rafferty MoFi, what more could I ask for!
Morten, I was excited to see The Normals as I have a few of their albums, the Swedish Normals. I am glad at least it was an earlier punk band but who knew there were so many bands with that name
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 There are a few band banes that seemingly appear to be up fpr grabs for nearly anyone. One such seems to be the Crusaders.
Hi 👋 i remember buying Gerry Raffertys album City to City in 1978. It contained the big hit Baker Street with that wonderful saxophone instrumental break in it. Plus a couple of other follow up hits.
@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 I liked it alot when I bought the album , and I remember playing it many times. It was a huge seller too. I saw David Bowie in concert back in 1978. Did you like him ?.
I don’t actively look for MoFis any more Brian but this is one I really wanted. To me City to City is a perfect album so to find it at a metal store at a good price was great. Guess his customers don’t have the same love for it lol
Steve, yea great metal place. I’m seeing lots of stoner. Dopesmoker, dopethrone, the sword and high on fire. Got that except still need a copy of Electric Wizard - Dopethrone. I didn’t see in this video but the reissue of Stoned Jesus- Seven Thunders Roar is cool. Listen to I Am the Mountain. Hell yeah you getting that Ozzy! Crazy Train, baby! Great pick ups. I’ve got that city to city just not MoFi. I’m fine with just the regular Baker St. i think I even have the 45. Peace ☮️ Namaste 🙏 the Zonkman
Steve, I figured you would see stuff in hear that you would like. Most of the albums I had no idea about and the music, well…. I did enjoy my visit and will be back
Steve, thanks for doing all of this legwork for me showing so many record stores in the Denver area. Looks like a well priced store, maybe a little death metally for me. I’ll stick with my regular Rafferty, good enough for me. Cheers.
Jack, I am beginning to wonder where to go once I do all the stores in Denver lol. Detroit had more stores believe it or not. I still have not shown the largest of the stores, just trying to call out the smaller ones. Planning to go digging with another collector on Saturday.
Open for 10 years is a great start. What a cool Lighting Hopkins record! From Lighting Hopkins to Coolio! I love it! A tad too heavy for my ears but I can surly respect and appreciate the quality curation. Nice they have some variety too. Nice JR grab!! Great price! I had that very Ozzy Album when I was 13 years old. I kept it in my bedroom. My mom would have chucked it in the trash 😂😇
That was a fun shop though I was a little lost on what I was looking at haha. The Cookie Monster vocals on the music he was playing was not my thing but I did find some good stuff and people have been telling me to go back and get some other items lol. Everyone wants to help me spend my money!
Yeah, certainly not our type of store but I would have bought those Mr. Gasser and the Weirdos LPs if they were reasonably priced. Even though I have them on CD ha ha ha. Still can't find your video where you reviewed the Elmo Williams and Hezekiah Early LP. I put that on myself a few days ago, brought back memories of my store and listening to it on a business-quiet Sunday. -JT
JT, I need to find out where that Williams and Hezekiah album went in the move. I am quite puzzled by this. This did got shuffled around. I still have boxes of records but almost all are ones without covers. It must be stuffed in there with some other ones. Very odd and amazing that you remember.
Wow Steve I found a place like that in Norfolk. I went in and I didn’t know I single record and they were playing Cookie Monster music. I used there bathroom and left. Glad u found a few things. 3 days till the Asheville record show. Take care art
Art, I knew what I was getting into but it was a little overwhelming when I got in. That Rafferty MoFi was on my want list as it is a favorite and perfect album to me.
That shop is definitely geared to metal and punk, I probably would have given it a pass but good to see some other genres especially in that last bin, I even spotted a couple of decent reggae greatest hits comps. Glad you found some things and finally at a good price, guess we will be seeing "Metal Steve" showing up in future
Metal Steve is coming your way Doug. I probably need to update my wardrobe though The music that was playing with the Cookie Monster vocals was pretty grating but I know I can adjust and get into it lol
I visited a record store.today(Aug.24)..in Brookline Mass..called The Vinyl Vault..they have a lot of records for a dollar.Picked up an album by The Young -Holt Trio for a buck(Jazz, piano group) And I got a copy of Elvis Costello's "Trust" album in pretty good condition for Four dollars..
Isa, some stores still have some good deals. I have seen too many where the $1 bin is now the $5 bin, isn’t that nuts. If people are willing to buy it then why not. Capitalism at work!
Interesting store, I did watch you peruse the albums and I was surprised you passed on some of them. How could you pass on Liberace? Also Ozzy's "The Ultimate Sin" is a better all around album than "Bark At The Moon". The funny thing was at the Ultimate Sin tour he opened with the Bark at the Moon song. It was at Pine Knob and Metallica opened for him and their Bassist Cliff Burton played so I felt lucky to see him because a few months later he passed in the tour bus accident. Rowdy Concert but i had a great time.
Quite the concert Richard. Always interesting to hear Metallica being the opening band. Boy did the world change for them. It was Diary of a Madman that I had, not Bark at the Moon. You can never have too much Liberace, okay actually you can lol
There's hope for you yet, Professor - Gerry Rafferty's "City To City" - favorite album OF ALL TIME. Have the OG and the 2021 reissue on orange vinyl - both terrific. I don't do MoFi but I hope it's everything it should be and more!
I adore City to City, it is a perfect album and falls into my top 10 albums. Every song is wonderful and something you can sing along to. I was overjoyed to find that MoFi at a great price. You never know what you will find in a metal store lol
Hello Steve; Chain Reaction, what was your Reaction to the prices? Midnite Music for the neighbors. The store looked well stocked with the genre of music they sell. Gerry Rafferty, Ozzy Osbourne, the Normals, & the dB's. Some good finds outside of the punk genre. Take care, Tina & Pat!~
I finally had a good reaction to prices Tina & Pat. Best prices I have found. Too bad 2/3 of the inventory I have no idea about lol. Maybe I still can become a metal head?
Neil Young doesn't like seeing his bootlegs ! My favorite YT clip is his reacting to a befuddled store clerk about discovering an " unofficial " release from back in the early 70's.
