    Thanks for the breakdown, I was struggling with this for a long time. For some reason, I could not get my head around the man-hour. I thought if the client booked 3 hrs and it's two cleaners both is doing 3hrs each not realising that the 3hrs is divided between the two of us. Making the job 1.5hrs.

    • @justinchimento5654
      @justinchimento5654 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I would honestly just use that same math she did but act like your one of the employees and keep that price and do the same percentage and everything. so if you use her example and you get paid $14 an hour (theoretically since you can't pay yourself a salary if your an owner by law) and just figure out how long it could take you and price it that way using the same math. Hopefully that made sense cause originally I was going to start my business solo here soon and had the same question but my wife is joining in so we are using the same math just with what our local numbers for pay would be. Good luck hope it's goes good 😊

      I’m doing the same thing. Starting alone cause I been cleaning all my life. So why not make it a business of what I love to do. Once I get the hang of it, then I might get a few people but other than that, I’m not greedy I’m only looking to make about 2k a month extra. That will put me over what I need. I hear these jobs can come rapid an be to much for those that want to be greedy. Then you sign the contract an can’t make them so you will look bad. So only get what you can handle for sure.

    • @jcampmuzic
      @jcampmuzic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s stated by the customer. Just ask how many times a week they’d like your service. They may want certain things done weekly and a deeper clean once a month. I’m just starting myself and i happened to come across the services a company wants daily, weekly, & monthly.

    • @justinchimento5654
      @justinchimento5654 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would use her math and if the price averages out a little low after you use her math then I wouldn't worry but if it's much lower then I would raise the price til it is somewhat near so you can at least make a profit. So say you had a job that took 4 hours and you use her math and it's says you should charge them say 30 an hour I would say that's ok to start til you do it for about 6 months or so and then raise it to a little higher price, just tell them this to begin that way they ain't shocked when you do so. However if it averages out to say $35 or higher then you might want to start pricing it higher

    • @latoyabrown6773
      @latoyabrown6773 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m new so I’m going price per job and not hour. You want to make it worth your time. What if you set a flat rate let’s say 125 and you done in 2 hours vs 50 hot 2 hours

    Good information provided. Based on your experience, what do you included in your General office cleaning? We have a cleaning company & have a couple of contract. The offices are around 4000 square feet. They have about 30 cubicles & 20 conference rooms that included computers, trash cans, phones & calculators. As time goes by they add more and more to the things they want done no change in price. Even though we have many years of experience we have never been able to determine the fine line between general cleaning & detail cleaning. I would appreciate your advise, thank you.

    • @LIK64
      @LIK64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      When u do your initial contract always put in the "fine" print that if there is any additional duties apart from the general cleaning there will be a review of the contract, then you can recalculate the bid price. You may have to have them to review the contract about that part. Nobody likes to work for free. Hope that helps.

    Great video! I just started my cleaning business so I would be doing all the cleaning myself until I’ve gained enough contracts to hire more help. So my question to you is how do I comprise a pricing list for cleaning facilities? I want my prices to be consistent and not some random number so I’m able to have a print out of what my cleaning included along with my prices.
