First time playing an armored core. Took me 5 tries. All I was thinking after I died the 1st time was "Hmmm so this is how my friend felt when he went against Father Gascoigne for the 1st time."
C`mon this game its a joke. The game doesn't even give you the chance to learn the basic mechanics and the first boss its a flying enemy with absurd damage. I completely understand those who get angry and quit the game.
This thing was definitely more difficult than Miyazaki's tutorial bosses. I kept thinking "why bother with mechs!? Just make an army of these fucking things" 😅
I tried to do it 50 times and rage quitted. I think there´s something wrong with this game. Some players like me are having the most brutal time with this boss while players like you can beat it no problem. Look at the stagger meter. There´s no way I can fill up his stagger meter as much as you did despite I am doing the same thing.
It is somewhat of a soulsborne, so you gotta learn what is getting you killed. Rage is common, so if your getting too frustrated just take a break and come back to it. He’s shooting at the boss every time he gets to and using all his weapons so that contributes a lot to how often he can stagger. I beat the boss without staggering him a single time.
ok its good to know that this is how you are supposed to do it, I did it but wasn't sure if there was some gimmick I should have utilised. Seems like you just have to fish for opportunities to melee attack it.
I just beat it on 5th time... it just took patience with hiding behind the buildings and waiting for the ship to make itself a good target for the dash forward and using the energy blade.. getting behind the buildings to stop its rockets really helped.
having real trouble with the controls im just flying all over I cant do this git good my ass get propper tutorial with gradual stages this should have been a ground fight building up not throw everything at me like tghius what a mess
Died to this guy 3 times. I know it's just a case of learning the controls. This guy is here to teach you how to play (the boss, I mean. it's a tutorial boss, in the truest sense) BTW, are you still holding down you missile launcher till the bar is full? It's weaving this into the combat that will take a bit of practice. I can tell it's just one of those things where you have to practice at it, though.
Sorry but that doesn’t look anything like my fights against this guy. If I try to get close enough to use the melee I get destroyed. Edit: trick for me ended up being the sprint/left trigger move. Just charge right into him and then melee
i figured out how to get close to it, u wanna tap space not hold space, that way u glide to it slowly WITHOUT IMMEDIATELY wasting ur energy bar in like 2 seconds, so u tap tap tap melee rinse repeat
Thanks for this guide. I’m still struggling, but getting closer. The in game guide saying you should dodge the rockets in the air is just wrong.🤦♂️ You want to use buildings for cover.
yeah hahaha hell no you can't. I've beaten the whole game and I still can't dodge all the missiles in the air. You can, with practice, dodge most of them, but I don't think any of us want to practice missile dodging for 20+ fights just to learn every missile pattern or something
I thought he was killable with guns and missiles only because I *almost* killed him on my 8th attempt using just that lol. Thankfully i found out you have to use the blade to kill it before I went too deep lmao
Lol I never knew about the sword. Trying to take this guy out with just bullets and rockets was hellish. Kept getting close, running out of rockets, then nearly running out of gun ammo. At least I got some good dodging practice

I am a huge fan of Battletech Universe (games, books, etc.), so I was excited to try the AC game and pilot a very fast and powerful mech... Well, after the initial surge of adrenaline and fascination with the sightseeing, I got into the first boss and I died, and died, and died some more... I was staying up until early AM dying, maybe taking half of the helicopter health during my "best" attempts... I decided to give up and go sleep on this. Then next day I tried again and died, and died.. And I beat the Elden Ring and been playing a lot of Dark Souls, but this is so much more difficult, because you have to function in the extensive 3D space, at a high speed, using multiple weapons at the same time, as well as managing your energy, and armor meter, and all sorts of things. Well, eventually I got that helicopter somehow with still 1 Repair Kit left. I tried to get behind it, and circle it using the assault boost. I wouldn't use the sword unless the helicopter was flying low and it wouldn't take a ton of energy to get near its cockpit. And yes, I had to spam all my weapons, all the time when I had a target lock. I never managed to actually stagger that thing, but it got blown up nonetheless... and I became a Raven. I shouted in excitement and scared my cats that were sleeping soundly near me the entire time. I have to say, I feel more proud and satisfied than I ever did while defeating any of the Elden Ring bosses. The pacing is so insane fast. I bet playing this game will help your brain and offset the Alzheimer's and the onset of age-related Dementia at least to some extent. Don't give up. I am a middle-aged dude that doesn't have the reaction of my younger self, when I used to play Quake 1 deathmatch all the time, and did fairly well. Still, I was able to get that nasty 'copter, and that means So Can You. Take a break. Make some tea. Come back and try again. Be smart, evade its weaponry, jump when it launches its major missiles. It's mostly a ground attack 'copter, so use that to your advantage. . And if you beat this first boss -- congrats to you, Raven. Sounds like every other boss is tons more difficult, so we got a lot of work to do. P.S. Absolutely love the music and the atmospheric sound effects in this game. If you have THX and a nice pair of headphones -- turn it on and enjoy. This game will guarantee to make you feel better about your current living environment.
Why did they make the first boss so hard? Took me 3 tries to defeat it. I didn't watch this video. It come naturally and I never have to hide behind a building. Your dash is enough to evade most of it attack if you're fast enough. I left Jagged Alliance 3 to play this game. The special effects is cool looking. I got a video up if anyone interested to give me pointer. 😢
The only thing you need is to double attack with the sword. It took me way too long to find out I can even do that. The game tells you the weapon parameters only after the first boss. The difference is massive. Without using the double attack your damage output is way too weak and you can almost never stagger the boss. With the double attack the boss is quite easy.
This right here ^^^ I thought you could only use the sword once before it overheats, but you can swing it twice .. boss will stagger quickly once you do that..
I was so hopeful for this game. I loved the armored core series and even liked the online only one. Got this game on launch, and literally almost put my controller through the TV on the "tutorial" boss. Armored Core was always a tougher series, but the difficulty scaled and by the time you got to a frustrating boss you already had the ability to modify, and had really learned the game. This game was their attempt at making Armored Core a Soulslike
They explicity state it isn't souls like it's armored core. You're just trash but too egotistical to admit it so you make excuses instead. That's how all failures in life act
I got it my 4th try, tried the blade my 3rd but did not have the same results at all. I did realize getting under him was pretty safe though so the 4th stayed under and used guns and rockets without issue. When he flew out of bounds I just kept using the rockets and creeping the walls
I must say, my shit robot flys like , we say, rumeiern, like shit like a panzer with 9volt battery, and always energy empty and dcsnt reach it to use blade, cover not possible it auto tracks behind cover and boost always empty , that’s the greatest shit I’ve ever experienced, with huge distance, biggest shit
This is one of the few times where FromSoft has just failed with a starting boss. There's so many things wrong with this fight from the get go, and while it's a really well designed actual enemy, the fight itself is pretty poor. Boost management, melee usage, and stagger are all mechanics you are not yet introduced to properly when you have to face this monstrosity. Which would be forgivable if not for the fact that, it's not skippable, you HAVE to fight it. It's not Elden Ring where you are meant to die. It's not DS1 where you can make the fight significantly easier with a plunge attack and better weapon. This is a boss that is just punishing, and doesn't set the tone of difficulty. I went into the next few missions expecting a struggle, instead I got EASY missions that SHOULD have been the tutorial, and a kick in the face which was training missions that taught me mechanics that are useful against that boss. But the real kick in the pants is the out of bounds ring. The fact the boss can go there and you can't sets a really bad precedent that doesn't exist in other FromSoft games. Where being able to go where enemies can, and explore places you can see is a big deal. Not to mention how badly that screws up the mechanic of get in his face with the sword.
Trying to fight the boss by trying to implement everything the game had taught up to the point was honestly painful. I thought I was doing something wrong gun-wise due to how little damage my gun/missiles were doing. Spent so much time trying to find an ideal range to engage with guns/dodge missiles before giving up and deciding to melee the crap out of it. Like you said, it's a well designed enemy by itself but the way the game sets up the tutorials and player expectations is pretty misleading and feels like it's just for fucking with people, classic fromsoft style.
@@alzeeski Yea I feel at this point most people are just reacting and being "Git Gud" for the sake of it rather than objectively looking at the situation and the criticism. If they were to move that boss out of the tutorial and into like Chapter 1 Mission 3 or something, and change nothing else, the boss would still be hard. It would still match the expected curve, and it wouldn't have any real impact on the game. There is nothing about that boss being there in the tutorial that is important to the game. I just think some people refuse to accept that From Soft while making amazing games can make mistakes too. That not everything they do is perfect. And that a criticism of a small aspect or individual fight of the game is not tantamount to the game being bad. I love AC6, but that tutorial boss is just a bad decision.
@@AmideusTV If people really respected the Soulsborne games, they'd recognize that AC6 fails at tutorializing in ways that no Souls game ever has, and the dumb part is it absolutely didn't need to be that way. Like you said, a few small adjustments and it is still a difficult fight but it would be smooth and would feel good to overcome. Instead, finishing this boss fight made me question if I even WANTED to continue playing the game. I hated the experience, and I still do. It makes one of the worst first impressions I've seen from an otherwise enjoyable game.

Just constantly goes out of bounds and the controls fell off.
First time playing an armored core. Took me 5 tries. All I was thinking after I died the 1st time was "Hmmm so this is how my friend felt when he went against Father Gascoigne for the 1st time."
I played and finished elden ring on new game plus 2 and that first boss gave me one hell of a hard time😂
C`mon this game its a joke.
This boss fight is actually incredibly easy once you learn you can use your sword two times in quick succession
Thanks man you saved me a ton of grief
I just beat it on 5th time... it just took patience with hiding behind the buildings and waiting for the ship to make itself a good target for the dash forward and using the energy blade.. getting behind the buildings to stop its rockets really helped.
having real trouble with the controls im just flying all over I cant do this git good my ass get propper tutorial with gradual stages this should have been a ground fight building up not throw everything at me like tghius what a mess
Died to this guy 3 times. I know it's just a case of learning the controls. This guy is here to teach you how to play (the boss, I mean. it's a tutorial boss, in the truest sense)
BTW, are you still holding down you missile launcher till the bar is full? It's weaving this into the combat that will take a bit of practice. I can tell it's just one of those things where you have to practice at it, though.
I thought in this game I play a strong powerful robot, surely the game wont give me headaches. Now I am here :(
Sorry but that doesn’t look anything like my fights against this guy. If I try to get close enough to use the melee I get destroyed.
Edit: trick for me ended up being the sprint/left trigger move. Just charge right into him and then melee
You can also just spam rockets and missiles at the boss while you’re under it, he won’t be able to hit you with his lock on missiles, easy clap.
I KNEW it had to something to do with melee...Boss just fucks me over whenever I try to get a few hits in.
i figured out how to get close to it, u wanna tap space not hold space, that way u glide to it slowly WITHOUT IMMEDIATELY wasting ur energy bar in like 2 seconds, so u tap tap tap melee rinse repeat
Thanks for this guide. I’m still struggling, but getting closer. The in game guide saying you should dodge the rockets in the air is just wrong.🤦♂️ You want to use buildings for cover.
Finally beat him after ten more minutes.
yeah hahaha hell no you can't. I've beaten the whole game and I still can't dodge all the missiles in the air. You can, with practice, dodge most of them, but I don't think any of us want to practice missile dodging for 20+ fights just to learn every missile pattern or something
The goal here is to stagger. I failed so many times without knowing I needed to stagger it to deal real damage
I thought he was killable with guns and missiles only because I *almost*
killed him on my 8th attempt using just that lol. Thankfully i found out you have to use the blade to kill it before I went too deep lmao
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to melee. I have to get up to him pause the game and unpause and that’s how I melee it’s awful
It's seems that's your boss shooting only one or two missiles. Mine use millions of them against me 😂.
Good stuff Brother!!! Just started playing last night!!😵💫✌️Lethalronin
Lol I never knew about the sword. Trying to take this guy out with just bullets and rockets was hellish. Kept getting close, running out of rockets, then nearly running out of gun ammo. At least I got some good dodging practice
I just beat this after like 2 hours. Did not know I had a sword until now
Dude thanks literally just bought it and uninstalled because I was struggling
Very good. Love the feedback.
edid: finaly got it because i pretty much used slalom like you did but oh wow..i know its not the same but i beat all the soul games and this one tho, not sure it s made for me even if i love giant mechs. Anyways thanks for the tips
The buildings god dammit!
I kept on trying to fight this thing on its terms rather than using the arena to my advantage.
So.... Basically, like all from software game .. stay closer to him and cuddle him
I am a huge fan of Battletech Universe (games, books, etc.), so I was excited to try the AC game and pilot a very fast and powerful mech...
This game will guarantee to make you feel better about your current living environment.
oh so im supposed to use thr buildings as cover. How can I dodge when I cant even see what he's firing at me what a mess
Just got the game. It is so far, but the damn boss keeps getting out of bonds
Guns and missiles, you will be there for hours. Just use your sword.
Using the sword was the game changer. I was only shooting
Holy fuck I’m like 15 deaths into this guy and I’m loving it 😂😂 surely bout to get these mechanics down soon
😢
After 4th try with guns and misles, i decided to shut down the Pc. 😂
YES this was helpful ;)
30 times and still can't beat it
then this game is not for you lmao
@@Bos_Meong toxic
I didnt even think to use cover, i was just trying to dodge every single missle and spaming guns lol i almost had him though
Here I am thinking the blade siding do any damage 😂 I’m just trash and miss him half the time lol
Finally took that S.O.B. down!
Thanks literally bit him after watching this felt stupid but I'm happy
@@MrWhygodwhy Yep, and the sad part is if I had decided not to continue after that dismal experience I would have never gotten to The Wall, one of my all time favorite levels out of ANY game ever.
