A small correction. Impact dampening does not determine the length of the improved guard window, that is a separate stat that can be seen in the advanced stat screen. Impact dampening is the percent of impact damage/stagger that your shield absorbs.
His AP showed the bullets were ricocheting, so he wasn't taking any damage from regular bullets despite being hit. Really cool, I didn't know that was a thing until I saw that! :D

After searching for hours, your video is the only place where I could find out what those 4 little weapon icons mean. Bless you Vaati, you're the real MVP.
This is a true beginner's guide. Most videos titled as such assume you've played the game extensively. This has actually taught me how to play the game (outside of experience, which is obviously a huge part). You explained each foundation concept before talking about how to use those mechanics. I know you're a lore guy, but you have the talent to do gameplay related videos as well.
FromSoft community wouldn't be what it is without him, especially live the effort gone to in order to help new players approach the games. I always appreciated dark souls series from a mechanical pov but my overall enjoyment of the games increased tenfold thanks to vaati videos
43:44 Small sort-of correction here. The closer you are to your max EN load, the lower your EN Supply Efficiency goes. And it's not a minor difference like with your weight to booster power. If you're sitting right near your max, you basically stop regenerating meaningful amounts of energy if you aren't on the ground. I ran into that problem, where I was using a super fast EN Recharge Delay generator, with a low max load. (Probably the Ling-Tai engine you showing here, actually.) Was ~0.33 second before it'd start to recharge, but with the low load limit and a light core part, I was on such razor thin energy margin, my actual EN Supply Efficiency was like 500-1000 or something, where it barely ticked up while in the air. It was *more* effective to kill my energy entirely, and get a decent chunk back all at once when the energy supply recovered. Eventually had to change engines because of it. Edit: What I mean to say by all of this is it may be a good idea NOT to try and come as absolutely close as possible to your max EN Load if you want to stay in the air longer.
This. There's a great build bringing lightweight legs and the biggest generator available, because you get so much energy recovery that you can almost infinitely spam dashes all the time. And you can pack low weight high EN energy weapons like crazy. True, your generator is 1/3rd of your total weight budget, but it results in an amazing and fun build if you like mobility.
After just watching the section on the basics, I can already tell that Vaati not only understands this game really well, but does a great job showing and explaining how to make use of all the tools you're given
I just want to point out; you say that if a mission’s “Battle Log” reward is either listed as “Pending” or grayed out you should replay that mission to find the battle log. If the “Battle Log” reward does not display anything then there is no battle log to be found in that mission. Great video, thank you for your in depth tips.
Real schizo hours for AC lore lol It's a real mess with multiple overlapping and weaving timelines, mostly have to treat the games as separate entities.
AC's lore is convoluted and has a bunch of reboots with the same premises over and over again. I don't think it's even worth going through all of that.
I think the only story worth telling for AC is the AC3 series. Idk about everyone else, but Last Raven was a bittersweet send off. I think that was the last AC game to truly feel like AC. AC4 and AC5 had its own merits, with AC6 feeling like a step back into our roots.
I love how the game forces you to think about your approach to each encounter. Balteus was absolutely ruining me, then I took a few minutes to make a build, then absolutely shredded it. This game rules. Hoping for loads of DLC.
I think that tip about starting your build with the FCS is pure gold. I figured it was best to start with what weight and movement style you wanted, but deciding what range you wanna fight at first really pulls things together and helps you figure out parts and overall build you think would be best for you.
Agreed on this! So many videos/posts have suggested choosing legs first - intuitively this feels good because legs determine how your AC will control (tactics), but it’s actually much more important to establish your overall strategy vis-a-vis engagement range/weapon specialization first, and fill in your tactical options afterwards
FCS is a good starting point but I prefer to start at weapons or start with what I need for the obstacle I'm building for. Starting with weapons will build the rest of the AC for you, since you need to have a frame and internal parts to effectively use those weapons. Sometimes I start with a required characteristic or characteristics. There have been missions where I needed high map traversal with sustained moderate firepower. I built a high EN efficient AC with a balanced generator, Assault Boost optimized boosters, a mixed mid-short FCS and high ammo count energy weapons with sustained fire before over heating, and light weight plasma missiles. A different mission had a boss fight that is much easier with high boost speed and decent QB, but I also needed enough weight capacity to mount some heavy back weapons. This resulted in a build with light weight parts and the wheelchair legs. Some missions require a slog of dangerous enemies with no or minimal resupplys. Heavy frame parts for high AP and Defenses may be more useful than high speed. It's about determining what you need in a build and picking the parts that best fit those needs, while sacrificing what you don't need. My first example had terrible QB capabilities and that was fine. It had no use for them.
I think you may have missed another way to get parts. There are crates in various missions with different parts in them. You can find these crates more easily with the scan function.
The game tells you about the scan function in the training simulation and so far a singular mission for use. Wish they’d mention that at any point whatsoever, unless I missed it .
Vaati was huge for getting me into FromSoft games when I first Started so hearing his voice while he is doing in depth tutorials always gives me that feeling of when FromSoft games first clicked for me.
Protip: look up RGB codes for your favorite colors online. My favorite color is matte olive/army green with a little wear n tear. I also made a preset for a Warhammer 40k Ultramarine build with gold detail and red weapons.
My biggest piece of advice is to expand the details when checking out parts and use the context help to get more info on what each stat actually does. I got pretty far before i finally expanded the stats while looking at boosters only to realize that id been suffering a QB penalty because my booster wasn't strong enough for my ACs total weight.
Honestly that context help really should have been pointed out to the player the first time they entered assembly. Because it's so much an important tool for learning the stats and symbols that it cleared up a ton of questions I would otherwise have had.
I agree, without Vaati's guide i would never have understood why i was not able to dash consecutively , that really was my main problem with the last Bost in Chapter 4. I really know now to keep a close eye on this metric!
The game has been so much fun so far. I remember my first experience fighting the Assault Helicopter at the beginning, I had so much trouble fighting it, but I could tell each try I was getting more familiar with the mechanics and doing better, and I decided to change up my strategy and be more aggressive with the melee attack, and I ended up beating it without using a single repair kit.
What about CEL 240? This boss is harder that all other in the game combined. You can't even use some weapons because you run out of ammo, which is sad. In phase 2 you can't see anything because everything is red. Only 20% of players beat it.
I saw someone else do this… my thought was “nah, I’ll figure it out myself.” Then I see VaatiVidya drop this and my thought was, “oh, I get to hear that buttery smooth voice tell me how to play.” Perspectives are a weird thing.
I was kinda the same going into this! I thought initially "eh, i dont need to speed through the game. I can go at my own pace." But vaatis voice is to pleasent XD
I played enough to get it and at the end all he talks about was something I already knew and really man what is this, he even tell you how the main menu works this is just way to much..
As a Souls player and an AC fan, I'm actually glad to see how different this game is. I had so much trouble with the heli boss at the beginning cuz I didn't understand how it worked lol
Yeah, I’m a AC vet and it took me 3 attempts to get the butthead. Felt like the arena was too small for that particular boss, I wanted to jump off the ledge back into the flooded city below to fight that boss, but I couldn’t. 😢
I've never played AC before, but like many others, am a huge Souls fan. This game REALLY reminds me of the Ace Combat series which I love, selecting builds before sorties, and replaying missions for alternative objectives - but with huge boss battles and FromSoft DNA. I can't wait to get off work and check this out.
Same here. The moment I realised I'm probably going to enjoy AC6 quite a lot was when I realised how important 3d movement and proper tool selection are. That and the average breakneck speed in combat
I wasn't sure how I would feel about the game since it's been so long since we've had anything like it, but man it just "clicked" within the first few minutes. It feels like I've been playing the series my entire life and this is my first time. One thing that I noticed is that many of the tactics and thinking learned from the Ace Combat series really translate to this game well.
It was such a great decision to make it possible to resell the parts at 100% value. You can really tell that they wanted to encourage customization and experimentation. It’s also apparent from the different strategies you can use for different enemies. The wall for example was kind of tough for me until I realized that vertical missiles still hit it even when you’re in front. The game wants you to try different builds and experiment to overcome challenges. It’s really satisfying and fun, and I feel like this will give it a lot of replay value. I’m still on my first playthrough but I could see myself spending quite a bit of time on this game just messing around
MNK feels ridiculously good to use for ACVI for anyone who’s been considering it. It took a mission or two but since then I just can’t go back to a controller at all, whatever I’m losing by not being on pad is made up for with the instant camera movement, clean 180 turns with a flick of the arm, and general spacing of inputs. The default layout is great, but if you do have a mouse like a Deathadder definitely make use of the extra buttons. I set reload and boost on them for cleaner access.
As someone who tend to get overhwhelmed by input options but also loves the look of this, and just has a thing for giant mech games, i am really happy to see that passive upgrades are worth it, and not just a waste of chips.
I wish this series can get more attention that it deserves. It is a PHENOMENAL mecha series, had me hooked, and the characters, sure u don’t see them or have many cutscenes with them, but their dialogue even if it’s small, makes you get so attached to them, especially our buddy, Rusty 🐺
New AC pilot here! This is my first foray into the Armored Core universe, and by the Throne, it is a phenomenal experience. Beautiful graphics, addicting gameplay loops, an incredible depth of customization and modification. My AC feels like MINE, no one else's, and I know how it performs better than anyone because I'm the one who fit every component in place and tested every last thing. TLDR; it's like Doom Eternal and Forza Motorsports had a baby - a healthy, bouncing baby that blows tanks up in an instant and bathes in shell casings.
@@jakefoley9539 Not really true. You can get by just fine if you have a build that you can personally pilot well. Most often you just need to swap out weaponry. From did say that swapping out to different builds is the intended way to play, which is why you can save builds. This isn't even the first game in the series that challenged the way you play if you were locked into a certain build. See any game where you had to platform with tank legs, or try to survive on water without hover legs, or try to take out a whole squad of ranged enemies with a melee build. It's not like it's a new thing to have suboptimal builds depending on the senario, that isn't new.
@@jakefoley9539I can't say I like it either, but ive come to accept that this is the Armored Core way to play. Thats what people who have been playing the older games tell me at least. And I experienced it myself with the last boss of chapter 1. I died a dozen times to it untill I switched to a full tank setup to absorb the bullet hell chip damage and melt its shields with all out firepower. After that. the game punished me intypical Fromsoft fashion by making the next boss a melee attacker with big range. Swapping to a reverse biped build to dodge those attacks with ease and exploit the weakspot on top of it.
@@jakefoley9539 you're telling me you didn't swap builds for Nineball Seraph? What about Ace or Zinaida? How about Occupation of Arteria Carpals in 4a or any of the 1v2 fights in ACV or VD? I've been playing through the rest of the series in anticipation of ACVI and it seems pretty apparent to me that re-evaluating your AC has been a staple of the series since the very beginning. After all, the shop has allowed full refunds of any part for the entire franchise's existence.
This is an amazing tutorial. I'm 3 hours into the game but felt like I glanced over many of the mechanics that you covered. Thank you on behalf of all us beginners!
Oh wow, what a great guide. From visual appearance through substance to presentation, this is great. Especially how well you speak, how easy and clearly you are to understand is very impressive. Thanks!
The amount of detail & information in the hud is overwhelming yet strategically so poignant & truly helpful once I begun to grasp the lesser obvious bits of info on the screen that I initially ignored for the sake of just wanting to murder some coral thirsty mercenaries. As usual, Vati setting the bar for chrome shine finish in quality of video presentation & cutthroat delivery of what is truly vital & necessary to being a skilled metallic assassin
This is an incredible and comprehensive guide that not only goes over the tutorials in-game, but enhances them with real would application and use. Very well done. I learned a lot even after finishing chapter 1. Thank you!
I really appreciate all the work you do on your videos. I’ve been watching TH-cam forever, but this is my first ever comment. This goes out to you, a tip of the hat for another fantastic video. This is sure to make my learning of Armored Core 6 much more seamless.
Regarding shields: the portion you described as "impact dampening" is actually the IG (Initial Guard) Mechanic, which has its own stats in the fully expanded menu. Shields have a higher initial value for blocking when they're first deployed, which drops off to their idle active values. Standard shields are mostly meant to be held up to let the AC skirmish at mid-range and more easily trade shots, while bucklers come out fast, absorb a lot of impact and damage with their initial deployment, but have poor coverage and are useless for sustained blocking. Shields are hard to make use of effectively, but they're still a solid pick in most mid-range setups.
My current loadout (right after clearing wallclimber) uses a pulse shield with the standard assault rifle, energy saber and the dual missile launcher that fires in a V pattern. All of that with reverse jointed legs with an emphasis on rapid movement. I try throw out the shield to cross through enemy fire and in response to powerful back weapons being deployed. You always want to avoid damage where you can of course, but if you end up having to take a big hit in a more fragile chassis like this, it's a great way to minimize damage and stay on your feet.
Im already in NG++ and even now i dont know shields are worth it. At least in my experience and build. Game gave me really nasty shields that are far superior than any NG shield you would have, and still - i dont really think they are good. imho, ofc.
@vitaz145 All depends on the build, really. Quad leg zoners do well with standard/heavy shields, lightweights and frontliners can use bucklers to quickly parry dangerous hits and keep on the offensive.
I prefer heavy armor and resistance to take hits and not stagger, so i could get a clear shot with needleguns. What my build should be called? Artillery brawler, lmao?@@Morveyn
@@vitaz145 I'll be honest, since I made that post I've started to play around more with the shoulder-mounted arm weapon slot option and have pretty much dropped shields entirely since. My current build is somehow even lighter and more fragile than it was before and being able to dual trigger a weapon that can stagger easily like the handcannon and than swap it for one with huge direct hit potential (like melee or shotgun) basically gives me the best of both worlds. And with how vulnerable my build is, shields aren't really making enough of a difference to make up for that loss of potential with handheld power weapons.
For those who never played the original AC games imagine this... PS2 has dual joysticks, BUT this is a brand new feature for video games. Which made it to where your viewpoint was not controlled with the joystick, instead you used L2 and R2 to raise and the lower your field of view as needed. And then turning in your mech would allow you to manipulate the x-axis. Your lock on range and field of view was a square, which grew in size and increased depth if range depending on which head was chosen. So to even achieve lock on in the first place, you would have to come within the range of your target, stay in range, and as you and your opponent are accessing the y-axis with boosters and whatnot, you have to be adjusting your FoV up and down with the triggers accordingly, real time in the heat of battle. Having had to learn to pilot an AC that way has give me an IMMENSE advantage in this new era. I can without a doubt say that this game is AMAZING and FromSoftware has made Magic again. I LOVE this game and recommend it to anyone and everyone who ever thought a mech battle was cool, at ANY point in their lives.... Come Live The Dream, Raven.... And Dont Forget To Smile 😉👍
Watching streamers like Asmongold trying to caveman their way through, while refusing to slow down to actually calmly learn the mechanics, has been +hilarious+. Edit: Ok just because I was poking fun doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the man’s content, none of this is in bad spirit or malice.
It's especially funny because the game does not give you any quarter, like older AC games. You have to adapt to the situation, either by changing your AC or how you pilot it. And the game gives you more options than ever to do that
@@oddlang687 Objectively one of the worst ways to play a game. And it's a way I almost exclusively see from people who don't stop playing MMOs or casual slop like Diablo 4. Brains polished to a *sheen*.
This guide was absolutely wonderful. I only recently started playing and was wanting to see if there's anything that I wasn't paying attention to that I should have been. This guide is an absolute joy to watch. I really appreciate all the information that you put in here in the way that you described everything. There is one downside. I am now way too hyped to go play again.
Wow, thanks a lot, this is so much appreciated! (As are all your lore videos of the other From games) I'm watching this now, after completing Ch1, but is still great
I started play this game recently and to be honest its little complicated need some practice especially the stats and how every part have its own job. Great clarification with full details and all what I needed to know, for me I found this the best guide for the game ... thanks for being so professional .. appreciated ❤
I wasn't going to buy this game, because it just has never been my type of jam... but watching this, I feel like theres definitely a lot here to unpack, and am now itching to dive in. Great video!
As someone who has been playing ACVI as their first Armored Core, I’ve definitely gotten stuck at a couple moments (mostly chapter bosses, Balteus was my longest hangup, moving into chapter 4 now) and the one piece of advice I can give to fellow new Ravens is to absolutely be willing to buy and sell parts if something is giving you a challenge and remain persistent; ex. I swapped to have a Pulse gun in my left to assist in depleting it’s pulse shield faster as it does more to it. You have four slots for weapons- make good use of each and find what’s comfortable for you but be willing to swap parts and weapons at a whim if something has you stuck. Also melee is WAY better than you think, and always prioritize new Arena missions as they become accessible as OST mods are great.
exactly, in the total opposite I played double pulse gun with laser canons on a quad build and batheus disappeard before his second phase on my first encounter. HE spent his time staggered and only found out about is fire blades on youtube vidéos because so many people were complaining about him !
Finished chapter 2 before viewing this, and now that I have I feel like I have a good understanding of how to build my AC. I was just like ‘this is new, that must mean it’s better’ but now I have a good build working off of reverse join legs, with all the weapons that I want while staying within the ideal QB weight!
With the imminent launch of AC6, I also wanted to give a shoutout to many Armored Core content creators, because they deserve a lot of love for their efforts after all the years and specially since this franchise will get more popular (of course this includes Iron Pinneapple, Oroboro, Zentreya, Fightincowboy, Rurikhan, and YOU): - The Lore Hunter - Silver Glint - AesirAesthetics - Armoredcorelore - Love_Arc - BlueberrPoot - Anatolia's Mercenary - MrHappy1227 (though he is more focused on Final Fantasy) - Rubicon Dogs - Zealous (Znote) - Cleric - FromCheng - Writing on Games - Above Average Gaming} - Alanah Pearce
Honestly surprised that the Text-to-Speech Vtuber from Vshoujo is actually a veteran Raven Looks can be deceiving i guess. I also hope with AC6, we'll get more Vstreamer to join the underrated gem that is Armored Core Allow me to also shout out "Petra ch." as the current Armored Core Flagbearer for JP Vtuber scene. We Raven's (and Lynx. We don't forget you, AC4FA) trully winning big.
Yo. Buddy. Want to say I live and appreciate all the effort you have put into this classic series. Thanks for helping all our friends and new players. Good fortune and blessings upon your house, sir.
A wonderfully thorough review. Explained the details that so many others left out such as “What are those blue/red bars during assembly? What is that arrow during assembly? How do I know what my Effective range is? What is that number next to Effective range and can I see it during missions?” I’m going to look towards your channel from now on. This is my first AC game but I made it to Chapter 1 End Boss without much stress. I’m not a daily or even monthly gamer so the controls confusing people (gamers) thing didn’t affect me. I picked it up and naturally got accustomed in an hour. The specs and stats were the most confusing, I got the basics of the gist, but after watching this I thoroughly understand them now. Now I’m going to go through my assembly stats and fix em because this end chapter Boss is a pain. I don’t like watching spoilers for help either. I got the Boss down significantly but had no health left and died.
Thanks for spending the time to put this together instead of just telling people to "git gud." It's content like this that helps new players improve, not yelling.
Honestly i love how this game in the series is both easy to pick up and hard to master. As an older fan who hasnt played in a long time it feels almost like riding a bike again. It just feels right. Although im learning this game has more secrets and thats very exciting.
I've been loving slamming my head against the tutorial boss for the last hour or so and I say that with complete honesty. I don't think I've had this much fun in a From game since Bloodborne.
I've played most of the AC series; playing this was a friggin DREAM, man. The controls are so much more fluid and responsive than I was used to(My last AC game was For Answer, much to my dismay- 5 and Verdict Day were out of my reach), but once I realized that it was essentially the same, just faster, and figured out the translation from console to keyboard and mouse, I was right back to form. I'm still terrible at the game, but I'm back to loving my mech game. Thank you, Vaati, for giving people a real tutorial and enabling more people to enjoy this game like I do!
the hard lock isn't always good for evading attacks btw, it limits your movement to more 2d-ish. sometimes you need to use soft lock movement to evade late game enemies. It's kinda hard to explain the feeling but you know it
Man, I have to stop playing Armored Core so I can do an interview with Microsoft for an engineer role. I almost missed it because I was too busy playing.
I became a fromsoftware fan and i just made sekiro platinum, so i decided to buy armored. I have never played mech games and THIS GUY IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I was ready to sell it back when i saw all the informations and staff. However, you are very helpful...thank you
Still watching this as someone whos played every ac game, and consistently plays for answer and verdict day. I hope tons of new players pour in and get hooked. Finding a squad to pvp with and have healthy, varied matches is the funnest shit ever.
As a Titanfall 2 Vet with 0 AC experience the mech combat felt oddly familiar. I've only dipped my toes in so far just beat the tutorial and 1 mission but fighting that first boss felt like I was channeling the mindset of my Ronin with the mobility of Northstar and the firepower of 3 or 4 titans at once.
As a new player to the Armored Core series, I have not had any troubles understanding anything whatsoever. If you take the time to toggle the “Contextual Help” option while in the Garage and read what all of the statistics on each part of your AC does, then you can understand all of those blue and red numbers. Couple that with doing your Training missions and the game does a perfectly reasonable job explaining things to the player. You can even use the AC Test option to directly see how your tinkering pays off with your AC. Great video. I didn’t watch it since I didn’t need it, but I am sure it has helped many newcomers who have felt overwhelmed with Armored Core. For me the game has been nothing but pure fun. Thank you for the content.
Thank you so much for this video, I knew this game would time for me to learn. I like to describe each fight as a dance and I just need to learn the moves! Once I started figuring out builds I got passed the chapter 1 boss and started flying through missions! It's such a fun process to overcome challenges in this game. Don't give up! Take a break, chill, look over your loadout and think about the fight you're struggling with, it's helped me so much!
I’ve been using a ‘quad trigger’ build by swapping between dual Gatling Guns and dual Ludlow’s. Mounted on the lightest and fastest frame I can, I fly in and hit them with a bullet storm. I can skate around most bosses and dodge direct attacks while laying into them with either set of rapid fire guns; absolutely melts their poise and health bars.
Your videos are like the digital equivalent of Future Press guides, and I mean that with the utmost level of respect. Top notch stuff, thank you for all the time and effort in making them.
I’ve been playing a couple of days now aaaaand… it’s a bit odd. I build for a mid range combat style, but every boss so far requires you to break stance melee them. Why can’t I just stay mid range Fromsoft?
Vaati, I gotta say, I’m not an Armoured Core fan but I’ve been a viewer of your channel for nearly a decade now (sorry if I just made you feel old, the feeling is mutual when you became a dad. 😂) I had stopped watching your vids for a while actually, I wasn’t as captivated by your lore videos as I used to be despite that being your bread and butter. But quite genuinely, I’ve been taken aback by just how much I’ve enjoyed listening to you talk about Armoured Core. You’re so legitimately smitten with this franchise, and it’s just really cool to see someone genuinely follow their interests and be open-minded enough to explore a franchise that could have backfired on your audience. Well done for being completely authentic as always, it’s incredibly refreshing and inspiring.
This video was EPIC!!!!!!! Best beginner video on this game EVER. I have been a Armored core player in the past... but i forgot most of the basic cause i haven't played in a while. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Dude.....this was INCREDIBLY Helpful. You have no idea. I knew I was missing a ton of stuff and this (For)answered every single question I had!!!!! 🙇🙇🙇🙇🙇🙇🙇
I bought the game after one of your videos poped up to me. A 5h video about Armored Core 6 lore. Never played any mecha games before, this one got my attention. I'm happy I can count on your videos for this one, just like for Elden ring. Keep it up!
16:21 I’ve found that the best farming mission without any difficulty is the Stryder mission, you can get 270k credits and I’ve had damage cost as low as about 1.2k
bro this is what newbies need, the many methods of mobility is something that isn't explained very well in-game (And never knew you could charge with melee attacks!) You sort of have to experiment a bit, or be conscious enough to look at button layouts *even before the tutorial.* Great video Vaati, this is outside of your niche and its awesome to see such detail put into the guide.
I didn’t know if this game would be for me. The trailers and gameplay seemed cool but didn’t grip me like Elden Ring did. However, I gave it a chance and I LOVE the movement and combat! It feels so satisfying peppering enemies as I close the distance and then sending them flying off the edge of a platform. The aerial movement is super fun and satisfying, too! FromSoft has delivered yet again!
First AC for me. Bloodborne was my first FromSoft (and this is where I discovered your channel) , the came DS3, Sekiro and Elden Ring. Love this guide. The game can be quite overwhelming in the HUD for new players, they explain a lot, but guides like this help a lot to make it more clear. And funny thing is, I just finished the Wall mission - so luckily no spoilers for me.
I've watched several AC6 but this is a very useful one. It consolidated already known information and helped me a lot with what I've been struggling with (how to chose arms/head/body mainly). The video is long but the pacing perfect so it really helps understanding without being overwhelmed. Thanks a lot :)
This is definitely one of the few games were i feel i truly need a longgggg intro guide like this, i barely acraped by the chapter 1 boss before this came out
I gotta say I'm hooked. Like the vibe and the skill ceiling is pretty high I feel. Died a few times to the Heli and feel like I don't have the right amount of control over my ac yet. Seeing your gameplay....man it looks so easy but im jumping all over the place falling in pits etc. But I feel it will come with practice. The game is fun as heck regardless! Fromsoft doesn't miss.

I love how hard Vaati has fallen for Armored Core as a series. As a long time fan, it feels great to see this series get so much love.
100% this. It's finally time for Armored Core to get the recognition it's always deserved and I'm here for it.
This just looks like bootleg gundam

Pretty easy so far on pc compared to Elden ring and Sekiro.
Or also want to QB more.
I was thinking there was something like that going on.
Lmao the edit summarized 2 paragraphs in a sentence
@@alexlowe2054 oooh i need to try this.

Can’t wait to hear some juicey AC lore from this mad lad
Real schizo hours for AC lore lol
It's a real mess with multiple overlapping and weaving timelines, mostly have to treat the games as separate entities.
Nineball is red, he will test your abilities
"Prepare to Cry AC edition" sounds almost like a joke even tho I'm looking forward to it
AC's lore is convoluted and has a bunch of reboots with the same premises over and over again.
This is so true. Bosses only get better with time
Considering every AC game got an expansion, I'd say it's good odds.
seriously?!?!? what did you use?!?!?!? asking for a friend ;n;
@@cowmath77 Personally I used a tank heavy build with dual pulse guns and the pulse shoulder weapons. Aggressive play shreds the guy right.
bosses get better with more money... i dont have unlimited money with which to rebuild my mech everytime i face a difficult boss.
Say WHAT!?
Thanks. Didn't know this.
what's the earliest mission they show up in?
@@joenoodle6914Earliest place that hidden parts show up is in the first mission of Chapter 2. Don't bother looking for them in Chapter 1.
I'm loving the game, the customization alone is incredible, gameplay is so good too
I already made a fully white chrome mech, looks disgusting 😂😂😂
Protip: look up RGB codes for your favorite colors online. My favorite color is matte olive/army green with a little wear n tear. I also made a preset for a Warhammer 40k Ultramarine build with gold detail and red weapons.
Careful, you'll make white glint jealous.
As a veteran to the series, Vaati you have earned the utmost respect. Not only for your dedication but your understanding of the game.
I was impressed he went through the whole catalogue.
@@TyronomI had a harder time with Sulla than Malenia, all CEL 240 taught me is the supeme nature of the wheelchair
I can go at my own pace."
But vaatis voice is to pleasent XD

As a Souls player and an AC fan, I'm actually glad to see how different this game is. I had so much trouble with the heli boss at the beginning cuz I didn't understand how it worked lol

There's kind of been a lot of crossover between both AC fandoms. I got into Ace Combat because of Armored Core.
I mean... Ace Combat is no stranger to huge boss-battles too, even if the gameplay has a totally different feel to it, of course.
yeah it reminds me of Ace Combat as well. I guess that's why I enjoy it
Same here. The moment I realised I'm probably going to enjoy AC6 quite a lot was when I realised how important 3d movement and proper tool selection are. That and the average breakneck speed in combat
@@Lulink013 Sure, but don't be pedantic, man. Don't be that guy.
I wasn't sure how I would feel about the game since it's been so long since we've had anything like it, but man it just "clicked" within the first few minutes. It's so funny how often these series' get compared. Baring the obvious differences, they have a _lot_ in common
Grew up with these games. Literally been playing them longer than I can remember. So glad to see they're making a comeback
I hope you're right and that this is a comeback. I'm worried it's a love letter and a swan song to the series that made From Soft.
I put every weapon on my mouse so I could focus my right hand on shooting and left on movement.
I was surprised how good the mouse and keyboard controls are. I wish they were this good in souls and elden ring.
I have games way too long on controller. It also feels more natural with triggers
I have never in my life ever seen a tutorial video this well produced and helpful. Wow.
How I miss single player experiences such as this. Job well done.
Amazingly useful. I had been playing for weeks and didn't know half the stuff explained here.
Welcome my brother, I played my first AC on the PS2 😂 it’s always been a favorite of mine.
Seeing it get this much love and notice has been awesome. 🎉
@@jakefoley9539I detect a lot of salt.
There are things here that i feel like are REALLY important to AC builds the game fails to tell you, like thrusters having a recommended weight limit.
Streamers and their adhd. No offence.
It's especially funny because the game does not give you any quarter, like older AC games. You have to adapt to the situation, either by changing your AC or how you pilot it. And the game gives you more options than ever to do that
i really like asmon but watching him play new games is just painful.

Yo.

Loving the game so far. Very fun to play stoned

All the negative reviews of this game reek of Armored Cope
They're probably RLF members
For real.
I just bought it but haven't played it yet. Why are people saying bad stuff??
Game is so good❤
@kodypolitza8844 there will always be haters just know the game is amazing and have fun❤
Took about 5 tries to beat the tutorial boss, was a nice wake up call that you really need to learn the controls
Keep it up!
Thanks!
16:21 I’ve found that the best farming mission without any difficulty is the Stryder mission, you can get 270k credits and I’ve had damage cost as low as about 1.2k
Excellent guide. I was really stuggling and your guide clarified alot of things and Ive been having a lot more fun.
finally a good actual beginner's guide well done my guy
bro this is what newbies need, the many methods of mobility is something that isn't explained very well in-game (And never knew you could charge with melee attacks!) You sort of have to experiment a bit, or be conscious enough to look at button layouts *even before the tutorial.* Great video Vaati, this is outside of your niche and its awesome to see such detail put into the guide.
FromSoft has delivered yet again!
vaati is now officially my fave youtuber ever. first with the dark souls lore and now an ace in armored core.
Uhm, what do you mean?
Thanks for putting this together. Hopefully new, or frustrated, players to the series watch it and give Armored Core the chance (or two) it deserves!
i gotta give this game a shot.
Learning the ideal and effective range is going to make my builds so much better. Always so glad to see these videos
I haven't played an Armored Core game since Last Raven. So this was incredibly helpful. Thank you for making this fantastic guide.
As a new player to the series this was very helpful, really appreciate it
I've watched several AC6 but this is a very useful one. It consolidated already known information and helped me a lot with what I've been struggling with (how to chose arms/head/body mainly). The video is long but the pacing perfect so it really helps understanding without being overwhelmed. Thanks a lot :)
Awesome vidya. I couldn't get past the first boss. Now I have some confidence knowing what I was doing wrong.
Just downloaded and about to jump on and play my first AC game it looks so good!!
Thanks!
Just got to the ice worm and had no idea training gave you rewards. This was so helpful, thank you.
