I started with Brio over 40 years ago, so that right way. I had kids visiting who refused to leave the trainroom, because it was so cool. BTW, I have a Brio video coming up.

What an outstanding video, and some really outstanding work. I am a G scale guy, and am about to build an inside layout. This has given me a lot of inspiration. I would never be able to approach what you have done..
I consider building a G scale garden layout, but my garden is too small for anything except the smallest radius, so I dropped it. The trick when building such a large project, is to focus on the next task, and not on the whole layout.

1) The layout is 650x450 cm 2) No, we use a mix of all brand, we quiete some Roco. Also many NMJ and some HAG. 3) We use ESU with Rocrail 4) Yes, we have our open days. But for visirors from abroad, we can open at any time. The layout is not always in drivable state, so we prefer non surpise visit. Contact us over Facebook, or our business email. 5) It is located in Heggedal in Asker in Norway. About 25km from Oslo. There is a train station right in front of it.

Astronomy is also great. Would like to have my own telescope, but then I would need a cabin in the middle of nowhere, as there is way too much light polution. Also astronomy is not possible 2-3 months per year in Norway, as it is not dark enough,

Das ging eigentlich schnell. Ich glaube zwei Wochen, da war der grobe Streckenverlauf bestimmt. Als ich den Raum fand, ging es zwischen Vertragsunterzeichnung und Übernahmen eine Woche. Zuerst wurde der Schattenbahnhof gebaut, währenddessen wurde am Bahnhof detailliert geplant. Generell ändert isch der genau Gleisplan für die noch gebaute Teile dauernd. Die fertige Form wurde eigentlich erst beim Verlegen festgelegt. Ich plane die in einem QA-Video zu zeigen.
Das ist mal ein großes Projekt! Ich backe da eher kleinere Brötchen... Aber auch die Detailgenauigkeit ist wirklich schön. Bei dieser Größe ist das bemerkenswert. Wirklich toll. Viele Grüße Florian

My current plate layout is about 3.65 x 1,17 sq m, but I'm planing an L-shaped layout in the adjacent room, which is 6,50 by 3.65 and 2,10 to 2,40 m high.
We had the music compose for the movie "Verhäxt und Ufgpiesst" which I made between 2004 and 2008. (Look for it on this channel). I'm still using it, since it was a quiet expensive purchase.

I use my huge unheated basement and laid down 4 4 by 8 sheets of ome quarter inch plywood. I stayed with HO gauge and circle two of into a third one 4 was young and motorized engine turn table. My bag item was an N gage amusement park and N train ride vehicle crossovers my vehicle crossovers electricity all of my lights too Moving out, I sold the whole thing for small money to college student as much as I did very fun I had lots of corrosion on the tracks.
How much did the temperature vary? I tried to ahve a model railroad at the Oslo Transport Museum. The exhibition all is unheated, meaning the temperature swings between -20C and 30C. After a couple of year I sold the whole thing as it didn't work, and too much trouble.
You mean the mountain with the cable car? It's totally hollow and I can stand in it. The layout is built with that problem in mind, because if you can't access it, it will be the place where it fails. There is no places which cannot access, some are just more difficult.

Hehe, das war mal, seit 2019 gab es keine neue ebene, nur die Zugänge wurde weiter verbaut.

The room is 6.5 x 4.5 m and like 5 m high. ONly us two you see in the video have been involved on regular basis.

Honestly, this looks satisfying, though I prefer to build a layout the Woodland Scenics SubTerrain way. But great work. :)
If we would use these kind of products, it would blow the budget. Much cheaper to get stuff from DIY stores.

So, building the James Webb telescope couldn't have been more difficult (and probably more expensive).
What is the grey material you are using as track underlay ?
It's something called Depron and is used to isolate floor when you lie tiles and such. Many people has asked before, since day 1.
